Well, the next episode previews were originally recorded in japanese, but were scrapped for the rerecording of the show for the 1998 broadcast. This is the version on DVD. My guess is they didn't want to get involve with redubbing the next episode previews for whatever reason.

I'm going to attempt to hunt down the 1982 recordings for the show. If not... It's not a big deal without the next episode previews, but it is a pitty.

As for the documentaries.... We'll keep you posted.

Are you sure the audio was rerecorded, i can't find any information on the web about it.

I assumed the original Japanese audio from 1982 was used for the dvd release.

Nope. This is the 1998 edition. It's even mentioned on the DVD, if I recall correctly.

I remember this series very well also. I even went to the trouble of hunting down, just this past year, the short documentaries that were produced and found a set of all 39 in English. They were narrated by the VA for Mendoza. Unfortunately, they were all in RM format (second or third gen tape maybe) and the ends are clipped off abruptly. On only one of them do I even hear the end theme music begin after the doc. I'm guessing that they were produced for English language but never shown here, although they might have been seen in England or elsewhere. Judging from the music placement, it seems that they might have been placed between the preview and the end credits.

If you translate it will you also include the short documentaries after each episode?

Rest assured, the documentaries will be presented.

Thanks,

Was the show ever released on laserdisc?

You could master the original soundtrack from that should you want to.

Not only would you need an LD player but laser discs are really expensive o_O. Plus L-E does have the Japanese OSTs in stereo now.

Thank you very much for subbing this series, I'm french and I really wanted to see it in Japanese :)
By the way, in France the episodes are re-shown on TV and have the end documentaries and next-episode previews :)

Just a preview of episode 1. Though, I suppose the staff might bitch at me for showing this off, but I think it'll be worth it.

In the mean time, I'm going to hide before a staff sees this link... *runs*

If you want, I can provide you the end documentaries (and next episode previews) in French, good quality, as well as their English subtitles in .srt format. :)
