I think I had seen somewhere it was to be 26.  I thought I saw it on ideology's site but their site is down right now.

Hm, he isn't that good... The really cool guys drift at D1GP! But you hardly see an inertia drift there, they use the parking brake. Seems to be easier that way

Initial D: 4th Stage ends at episode 24.

Newtype magazine's website gives the episode descriptions for eps 23 and 24, and episode 24 is marked as the final chapter. (http://pc.webnt.jp/anime/disc_base.php?oid=580216) The avexmode website still has that "and more to come" thing after eps 23/24, but they're terrible about updating their website anyway -- it'll get removed in due time, I'm sure.

For those that are curious, Takumi's race against Joushima ends in ep 24 (I'm not saying how, but it's in the description). The episode description gives no mention of anything that happens after the race.

LOL sorry I'm new to being a serious anime fan so I don't know any of the anime mags yet and which ones can be trusted.  I have a tendency to not trust media sources.  If I could speak really good japanese I'd prolly just find out who is in charge of the initial d project at the company who is producing it and ask them myself..... But my japanese is still very poor.
