The lovely computer that I got to put together over the summer consists of:

Asus P5K Deluxe motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.0 GHz)
2 GB DDR2 SDRAM
2 x 500 GB Seagate HDDs
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB
2 x 22" Benq monitors

Runs Windows XP SP2 and will also be running Kubuntu as of Saturday. ^^
My mind is like a sieve. It retains all sorts of interesting bits and lets the important stuff flow straight through.

Main PC (built myself in May 2005):

Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz w/ hyperthreading
Intel motherboard
2 GB of RAM
1.5 TB of hard drive space
Windows XP SP2
connected to a lovely 19" Gateway 2000 CRT

This is what I use for all my fansubbing.

local server (built myself in late 2004 from mostly spare parts):

Pentium III 933 Mhz
256 MB RAM
approx 1 TB disk space
FreeBSD 6.2

connecticut server (My beloved Maaya, by far my favorite PC):

Almost all original parts from a Packard Bell desktop purchased in 1998, was used for approximately 5 years in a small real estate office in CT before being decommissioned

Cyrix MII 233 Mhz
32 megs RAM
approximately 1 TB disk space attached to a 3ware RAID controller purchased in 2001
FreeBSD 5.2 BETA, custom kernel compiled last on Sun Apr  4 01:06:01 EST 2004. The system needed to be ultra-streamlined to run efficiently with only 32 megs ram. Everything was compiled from scratch with tweaked gcc switches for performance.

This PC is nearing 10 years in age and is by far my most stable PC. Can anyone top this one? :D

I bought my computer on May 2003 so it needs replacing sometime soon. It can't play the HD encodes.

2.4 GHz Pentium 4, 1 GB DDR 333MHz memory, ATI All IN Wonder 64 MB 7500 Radeon video card, 19" 0.20 dot pitch CRT monitor, CDRW drive, a very good DVD burner I bought a year ago, 300 GB and 500 GB hard drives, 500 and 1000 GB external hard drives.

Oh yes, once I get a longer monitor cable I'll be able to connect my computer to my new 42" 1920x1080 TV.

An embarassment of riches. I'm planning to replace the computer "real soon now". Also to get a notebook. I've never owned a notebook before.

Hmm.....let me see.....

I custom built my computer (with countless upgrades along the way).  Here are my current specs.....

AMD Athlon 64 3800 (2.4 Ghz)
3 GB of Dual Channel DDR RAM
Hitachi 250 GB Sata Hard Drive
Biostar GeForce 6100-M9 Motherboard
XFX GeForce 8400GS video card
HP dvd1040 20x DVD Burner with lightscribe
Acer 19 in. widescreen monitor
ULTRA 600 watt modular power supply
Logitec LX7 wireless keyboard and laser mouse combo
Altec Lansing 3 piece speaker set
ULTRA GRID ATX mid-tower PC case
Linksys WMP54GS wireless G + Speed Boost network adaptor

Missing from the list is a sound card.  Mine stopped working recently, so I'm saving up for a new one.  Until then, I'm stuck with the onboard sound.  Anyways, it's not an AWESOME PC but......heh, it works just fine.  ;)

I bought some parts, and scrounged some parts, and built two computers, and stuck them together with gigabit ethernet:

1. P4 2.4HT on ASUS Mobo
    1.5Gb PC3200
    ATI Radeon 9600
    SB Live
    300 & 120 Gb internal HD
    2 x Lite-On 20x DVD Burners

2. P4 3.0HT on Intel Mobo
    1Gb PC3200
    ATI Radeon S300XE
    2 x 500 Gb HD in RAID1 (NFS exported to machine 1)
    Pioneer DVD Burner

And 1Tb of enternal USB HD storage.

Umm... And a Sandisk mp3 player.

I think I built #1 in 2003, and #2 in 2005. I don't feel any need to upgrade anything, I can watch huge H264 encodes with no problem because I run Linux  ;D

I write distributed network applications for a living, and I can test them at home  8)

Main PC
Athlon 64 3000, 2GB Ram, ATI x800, loads of hard drives.

It needs replacing, but I can't be bothered to build a new one at the moment.

Laptop
Core2Duo 2.2GHz, 2GB Ram, GeForce 8600Go.

This mainly gets used as a media machine, connected to the TV in the living room, and for HD rips that the main PC can't cope with.
