What are your computer's specs? Info? etc, etc
Willow:
I bought my computer on May 2003 so it needs replacing sometime soon. It can't play the HD encodes.
2.4 GHz Pentium 4, 1 GB DDR 333MHz memory, ATI All IN Wonder 64 MB 7500 Radeon video card, 19" 0.20 dot pitch CRT monitor, CDRW drive, a very good DVD burner I bought a year ago, 300 GB and 500 GB hard drives, 500 and 1000 GB external hard drives.
Oh yes, once I get a longer monitor cable I'll be able to connect my computer to my new 42" 1920x1080 TV.
An embarassment of riches. I'm planning to replace the computer "real soon now". Also to get a notebook. I've never owned a notebook before.
Vash:

Hmm.....let me see.....
I custom built my computer (with countless upgrades along the way). Here are my current specs.....
AMD Athlon 64 3800 (2.4 Ghz)
3 GB of Dual Channel DDR RAM
Hitachi 250 GB Sata Hard Drive
Biostar GeForce 6100-M9 Motherboard
XFX GeForce 8400GS video card
HP dvd1040 20x DVD Burner with lightscribe
Acer 19 in. widescreen monitor
ULTRA 600 watt modular power supply
Logitec LX7 wireless keyboard and laser mouse combo
Altec Lansing 3 piece speaker set
ULTRA GRID ATX mid-tower PC case
Linksys WMP54GS wireless G + Speed Boost network adaptor
Missing from the list is a sound card. Mine stopped working recently, so I'm saving up for a new one. Until then, I'm stuck with the onboard sound. Anyways, it's not an AWESOME PC but......heh, it works just fine. ;)
pokute:
I bought some parts, and scrounged some parts, and built two computers, and stuck them together with gigabit ethernet:
1. P4 2.4HT on ASUS Mobo
1.5Gb PC3200
ATI Radeon 9600
SB Live
300 & 120 Gb internal HD
2 x Lite-On 20x DVD Burners
2. P4 3.0HT on Intel Mobo
1Gb PC3200
ATI Radeon S300XE
2 x 500 Gb HD in RAID1 (NFS exported to machine 1)
Pioneer DVD Burner
And 1Tb of enternal USB HD storage.
Umm... And a Sandisk mp3 player.
I think I built #1 in 2003, and #2 in 2005. I don't feel any need to upgrade anything, I can watch huge H264 encodes with no problem because I run Linux ;D
I write distributed network applications for a living, and I can test them at home 8)
