How the pig saved live-evil, part 1 of a series

"The Rise and Fall of Fergie the Rat"

A few years ago, ADV was one of the largest anime licensors in the US.  Matt Greenfield was one of the two people at the helm of this licensing giant.

Fergie the rat was a late-born runt of his litter and abandoned by his mom, left to fend for himself.  Fergie would have surely perished except that he had the good fortune to be born in Greenfield's attic and Greenfield didn't really clean up his place a lot, he would often leave food just lying around and Fergie would survive by nibbling on this food.

Matt also often left his computer on when he went to work, and Fergie quickly discovered how to get online and surf the net.  The pig met Fergie on the "Lil' Pals" BBS and they became good friends.  Fergie also became good friends with several other de-facto group leaders, including Shinsen's Yue-bing and Mr. Sparkles, who led multiple groups through proxy.  The Pig and these other leaders developed an 'understanding' with Fergie, Fergie would listen in on Matt's calls to and from his work, snoop on him as he used the computer and even read his files, etc.  In exchange, they would send Fergie 'gifts' like food and things like that.

The pig used his connections with Fergie to know which titles ADV would license and manage the group accordingly.  License negotations weren't always smooth or straightforward and some titles did manage to slip through the cracks, but this strategy did work out pretty well.  Fergie's largest accomplishment was when Live-evil was subbing "Death Note" and early on in the effort (around episode #3) it was discovered that ADV was in the final stage of negotiating a license for it.  After a substantial bribe from the Pig, Fergie sprung into action by whispering into Matt's ear as he slept, giving him nightmares about the iconic horror title.  Fergie did this for three nights, back-to-back, after which Matt ordered his executives to halt licensing negotations on the title.  Time passed; "Death Note" was later licensed by Viz, a move outside Fergie's control, but in the meantime Live-evil had time to sub 9 more episodes of it.

With this, the Pig realised what Fergie was capable of and he and Mr. Sparkles developed a 'grand plan'.  Every new release season, he and Mr. Sparkles would watch the new releases, choose several of the worst ones, and then pass the names onto Fergie, telling him to convince Matt in his sleep that those titles were "must have" licenses for ADV.  Yue-bing wanted nothing to do with this plan, calling it unfeasible.  But their persistance paid off, quarter after quarter, ADV would announce more of thse dumb licenses, leaving fans and everyone else in the industry to wonder "what had gotten into their head".  And only the Pig and Mr. Sparkles knew the answer to that.

Fergie was a strange case though, rather than being content to be "part of the team" he kept demanding more bribes and "goodiez" from the Pig and Mr. Sparkles.  He quickly rose to the positions of "Top Rat" of the Greenfield household, and became the leader of the 70-or-so rats that lived there.  Feeling at the top of his world, he supported his lavish lifestyle with the bribes the Pig and Mr. Sparkles sent him.

Meanwhile ADV's fortunes were the exact opposite.  John Ledford, Matt's counterpart at ADV, tried to put the brakes on Matt's strange behavior and wild over-licensing of poor shows but by then it was too late.  Early in 2008 ADV had gone heavily into debt and had to scale back several of its divisions and halt operations in other areas.  By Mid-2008 ADV had all but collapsed.

In this way, three small animals were able to take down what was at one time the largest independent licensor of Anime.  Where is he today?  Once ADV collapsed, so to did Fergie's own powerbase being dependent on bribes from the Pig and Mr. Sparkles.  When times were good, Fergie acted not out of friendship but out of greed so when things turned and the Pig and Mr. Sparkles no longer needed him, he was all but forgotten.  Unable to support his lavish lifestyle, he disappeared into obscurity and was never heard from again.

How the pig saved live-evil, part 2 of a series

"Tuan Tuan Rises to Power, and Ends Up Owing a Debt of Gratitude to the Pig"

In years past, Shinsen's old Mascot, Yue-bing, built a political empire by coercing her friends and bribing, co-opting anyone who would stand against her.  Her following collapsed in 2008 though, when she was outmanuevered politically by the populist bunny Jojo, who has no relation to any subbing groups.  After her fall from grace, Yue-bing disappeared into obscurity and was replaced as a mascot by a charismatic, lovable panda known as Tuan Tuan.

Tuan Tuan lived in Wolong and was seriously injured by a massive earthquake shortly after taking his position as Shinsen's mascot.  Several of his buddies also suffered injuries.  Despite a dislocated shoulder and broken leg, Tuan Tuan was able to pull one of his friends free of a pile of rubble.  When the doctors found Tuan Tuan injured, his first question wasn't about his own condition, it was whether his friends were all alive and okay.

In this way, Tuan Tuan was a model mascot who cared more about his team than himself, and many people in Shinsen looked up to him and drew inspiration from him.  At Otakon 2008, the Pig and a few of his friends, Mikey, Jojo, and Mr. Sparkles hosted a photo shoot / autograph signing with the proceeds going to benefit Tuan Tuan and his buddies.  Tuan Tuan was thankful to all of them; in this way, the pig was able to gain the favor of Tuan Tuan and others.

How the pig saved live-evil, part 3 of a series

"Yue-bing tries to seize power, but is driven back by Mikey with the help of the Pig"

After she lost the bunny Caucus in 2008 Yue-bing became furious and threatened to throw a coup and seize power that way.  Mikey, who was in charge of security, quickly alerted his own forces and asked the pig for guidance.

Mikey was concerned b'cos Simon commanded the local "bunny brigade", a force of more than 250 bunnies who didn't fall under Mikey's own command.   Rumor had it that Simon was secretly loyal to Yue-bing, though details were rather sketchy.  The pig had heard the same rumor from one of his callers over Skype so he asked Mikey how many small animals he could get together.  Mikey said he had 18 regulars and roughly two dozen more reserves which he could call up given a few days notice.  He was going to immediately call up his reserves but the pig convinved him not to, he had his own plan.  The pig did not want to call up reserves b'cos he feared word would get back to Yue-bing if he did this about the actual composition and number of Mikey's own forces.  Either way Mikey was going to end up horribly outnumbered, another two dozen small animals wouldn't help this.  So best to keep his potential enemies in the dark and let them wonder how many small animals he really had under his command.

Sure enough the next day Simon called up the whole bunny brigade and marched them out into the field.  He called Mikey into the open field to do battle with him or accept Yue-bing as the rightful winner of the bunny Caucus.  Mikey didn't know what to do, but the pig calmed him down and told him to gather all his regular forces and head over to "the daily pet" after it had closed.

Now the pig met Mikey's forces that night at "the daily pet".  Mikey said that he hoped the pig had a good plan and the pig said it was important for both him and Mikey to show confidence and appear as friendly to Simon.  Then the pig ordered Mikey's small animals to break into "the daily pet" and knock as much top-grade bunny food down from the shelves as possible.  Then they would chew the packaging off the bunny food and scatter it all over the floor.

With this, Mikey thought he understood the Pig's plan, lure the bunnies into "the daily pet", let them eat until they will full, and then wait for them to go to sleep on a full stomach and ambush them in their sleep.  But the pig wasn't even thinking along these lines.  He had already thought of an even better plan beyond that.  The truth is, Simon was a very cautious commander and would never let his troops break rank or discipline like that.

The pig had Mikey send word to Simon that he was at "the daily pet" waiting to do battle.  Hours later, Mikey's scouts reported the bunny brigade was approaching the pet store and the pig told Mikey to open the front door and he and his friend turned their backs to the door and seemed to pay more attention to eating some piggy treats than anything else.  Mikey was to stand in the back of the store with all his forces, in the darkness and out of plain sight.

Simon showed up at the front door and the pig and his friend barely even paid him notice, content to eat their piggy treats and keep their back turned to him.  When he saw the pig with his back turned, did not see Mikey or any of his forces, he became alarmed.  The pig had a reputation for trickery and similar ambushes and he was not about to get caught up in one of those.  He reasoned that the pig, keeping his back turned to him and paying him no heed, had set up a trap and he was not about to fall into it.  Instead he ordered his forces to retreat and regroup elsewhere.

With the bunny brigade on the retreat, the pig told Mikey to withdraw all his forces out of the store and into the field.  Simon, on the other hand, was having problems gathering up his forces after their retreat, many of them had ditched and headed to the daily pet when they learned that Mikey and his forces had withdrawn from there.  They were feasting on the knocked over bunny food when Mikey and his small force met Simon in the field.

This time Mikey's force of a dozen and a half regulars met Simon, who still had roughly 30 bunnies under his command in the open field.  But his bunnies were disorganized and most of their commanders were gone.  The battle never happened, Mikey and the pig together convinced Simon to turn on Yue-bing in exchange for letting him go and that they would forget about the whole thing if he did.  The next day the police had chased the Bunny Brigade out of "the daily pet" and cleaned the place up, Simon's forces were back up to their full complement.  He showed up on Yue-bing's doorstep with the full bunny brigade and escorted he out of town, telling her that she was exiled forever and if she returned she would be killed on sight.

"When confronted, the pig's friend reveals his own role in Yue-bing's downfall"

A few weeks after Yue-bing's downfall, the pig's computer had a power supply failure and while waiting for it to be replaced, he used his friend's computer.  Fortunately his friend had many of the same apps installed so he was still able to use Skype and such.

When the pig started up Skype he noticed that the default user ID was BunnyBarney.  Now anyone knows of Barney's role in taking down Yue-bing's once-thought-to-be-unstoppable campaign machine but Barney himself had disappeared slightly before the bunny caucus and had never been heard from since.  The pig questioned his friend about this, if he knew Barney or had ever let a bunny use his computer and his friend just kinda smiled and said that only Jojo had on several occasions and that was it.

Now the pig went on to chat over skype for a while but the BunnyBarney user ID kept coming up in his mind.  He turned to his buddy and inquired again, and his buddy told him "you know, bunnies, especially netherland dwarfs, have especially poor vision close up".  He thought for a while, and also thought of how his buddy had gained a lot of weight lately, yet apparently had no more access to food than he did.

With that, the pig began to put the scheme together and asked his friend what his relationship with Barney (the bunny) was.  His friend said there was no Barney, that Barney only existed right here (pointing to his own head) and in Yue-bing's imagination.  Between wheeks of laughter, he told the pig the whole story of how Yue-bing's political machine had been taken apart by him and Jojo with Jojo only assisting in a minor way.

His friend explained how he had met Yue-bing over Skype Chat and lauded her with compliments while pretending to be a bunny loyal to her campaign.  When Yue-bing wanted to hear his voice, he bugged his friend Jojo to speak for him over Skype and convince her she was really talking with a genuine bunny.  When Yue-bing explained her carrot-bribing scheme he quickly volunteered to help and would regularly show up at Vincent's place to pick up the carrots she believed he would use to bribe pigs into voting for her.

While meeting Yue-bing in person to pick up the carrots, he would use her naturally poor vision up close to his advantage.  By staying close and occasionally bouncing up onto his hind legs, he was able to fool the normally-gullible Yue-bing that he was indeed a bunny.  When Yue-bing would question his smell, he explained that he had handed out so many bribes to pigs and hung out with pigs so much of the time in order to convince them to vote for her that he had picked up their scent.  Yue-bing continued to fall for this scheme, believing that her carrots were being used to bribe other pigs when in reality they were all being eaten by the pig's friend.

In this way, the once-thought-to-be unstoppable political machine behind Yue-bing was taken down by an otherwise non-notable pig in search of free carrots and the fact that Yue-bing was too full of herself to notice his deception.

"Tuan Tuan relies on the pig for advice."

At Shinsen, Tuan Tuan's career as a mascot was threatened when Vincent adopted a cute kitten he called Melon.  In his time as a stray, Melon had made three close friends known in that cat world as the "gang of three".  While Melon himself did not seem to care, this "gang of three" intended to have Melon made the new Mascot, displacing the loyal and benevolent Tuan Tuan.

Tuan Tuan became panicked and called up the Pig on Skype for advice.  The pig told Tuan Tuan not to worrey, instead to find two of the best Wolong Peaches and wrap them in a gift box.  The pig had Tuan Tuan write a letter and place it in the box.  Tuan Tuan understood, he wrote the letter and then mailed the box to the last known address of the "gang of three".

When the "gang of three" received the box, they excitedly opened it and read the letter it contained.  "These peaches will grant thee longevity and good fortune.  Let he who is worthy among you each take a peach."  The "gang of three", however, found only two peaches in the box.  As the pig had planned, a fight was soon to follow, and the "gang of three" was broken as one of its members triumphed over the other two and took the two peaches for himself.

In this way, Tuan Tuan did not even have to defend his own title of Mascot, Melon had no will to be Mascot in the first place and the "gang of three" had become disloyal over a few peaches.

"The pig uses his own trickery to fool an infiltrator."

Chelsea was an old acquantince of the pig, who he had not seem for a year or two.  Chelsea knew Mr. Sparkles at the time, and bragged to him that his group would 'hijack' and take over Live-eviL's Shion no Ou subbing.  Mr. Sparkles, being more loyal to the pig than Chelsea, reported this back to the pig and was given a free carrot in return for his vigilance.

Chelsea talked of his plans to sub Shion to many people, but no one took his group very seriously b'cos
it lacked a translator.  Then one day the pig got a call from Chelsea wanting to come over and spend the night.  Chelsea explained that he had won a package of piggie treats at a local raffle and wanted to share it with the pig.  The pig sensed something was suspicious and guessed what Chelsea's real motives were.  Certainly an old acqaintance who had not seen him in a number of years would have better friends than him to share the piggie treats with.

Prior to Chelsea showing up, the pig accessed the group server and downloaded some of the Shion work-in-progress data.  He found early versions of the timed scripts and quickly 'doctored' them, using search/replace to change words and modify the timing so that they would also be, for any practical purposes, useless.  Then he put the files in a directory in his computer off the root and rename them to make it look like they were final scripts, had passed QC and were ready to go.

Chelsea was very generous with his piggie treats and both the pig and his friend ate as many as they wanted.  When night came, the pig pretended to sleep, closing his eyes but continuing to listen.  Sure enough he heard the distinctive 'beep' a computer makes when it first boots up.  He snook out to the computer room and saw Chelsea with a thumb drive in his mouth.  Chelsea was totally unaware of him, he poked around the computer, inserted the thumb drive, and downloaded the fake scripts onto it.  When he was almost down, the pig scurried off and got back in the same position, pretending to be asleep again so he would not be noticed.

The next morning Chelsea seemed in quite a rush to leave but the pig did not want to keep him anyways.  A day after that, Chelsea's group released a number of Shion episodes and the few fans who did actually watch them commented that the subtitles were absolutely unintelligeable and the timing was also way off.  His group quickly faded into obscurity and Chelsea was never heard from again.

"The pig's mercy from long ago pays off, turning what could have been a disaster into a mere setback."

At one time, the pig employed a number of rats to free his paws from 'busywork'.  One such rat, Bob, turned out to be a plant, feeding back information on the group's project status to Yue-bing (at the time, Yue-bing was still Shinsen's mascot).  When this transgression was discovered, the other rats wanted to feed him to Sam, a cat that lived a few doors down.  But, the pig forbid it, and instead told Bob to leave town and never return.  For if he did, the pig would no longer stop the other rats from feeding him to Sam.

Bob disappeared and wasn't seen for almost two years.  However, one night the pig got a call from Bob on Skype.  Bob said he wanted to return the pig's kindness two years ago and told him that he had become one of Yue-bing's confidants.  He said that Yue-bing had not given up and he felt what she was doing was wrong.

Bob explained that he had met Yue-bing after being run out of town, hitching a ride on a train to San Francisco.  He was quite dejected, but Yue-bing seemed sure of herself and insisted that there were many bunny-lovers in San Francisco and b'cos of that, she would not have much trouble finding a place to live.  Long story short, Yue-bing found a wierd man whom she called "Frompy" to live with, and relied on Bob and a few mice as 'pals' to keep her entertained and occupied.

Bob didn't know much about "Frompy" at the time, he seemed to work from home and be in somewhat poor health.  But, he kept his basement was always well-stocked with food, so Yue-bing and 'friends' had no problem surviving while living with him.  Then, one day, Bob noticed "Frompy" had stopped moving.  Yue-bing insisted this was perfectly normal and he had simply gone into hibernation for the winter.  But Bob and the mice took his pulse and determined he had passed away.   He had died sitting down and using his computer, and was still logged in.

Eventually their food supply ran out and Yue-bing's 'friends' panicked.  But Yue-bing said not to worry, she used Frompy's computer to order boxes of breakfast cereal, crackers, and other foodstuffs online.  While doing this, she noticed that Frompy had a number of unanswered e-mails and started looking through those.  Bob thought little of it at the time.

So Bob's life went on, living with Yue-bing and the mice until he noticed that Yue-bing seemed to be spending more and more time every day using Frompy's computer.

Bob did not realise the entirety of what was going on until a few weeks had passed.  Eventually he realised that Yue-bing was impersonating the deceased "Frompy" with a combination of E-mails and an occasional phone call in which she would use the AT&T text to speech demonstration webpage.  Yue-bing apparently was able to blame any vocal irregularities on a 'bad connection'.

Yue-bing did not seem to care about the other small animals listening in on her conversation, and this attitude made them assume nothing of any import was being discussed.  When Bob overheard Yue-bing's phone calls he would often hear "funny numbers" being discussed but he didn't know what to make of them.

Then one day Bob had a flashback dream where he was back working for the pig doing some kind of work on a show called 'Galaxy Express 999'.  He woke up a bit disoriented from the dream to the sound of Yue-bing making another text-to-speech phone call to "Frompy's" employer.  Suddenly he realised what Yue-bing was about to do.  He waited until midday when Yue-bing would take her daily 'beauty sleep' and used Skype to call the pig.

With Bob's report, the pig knew what he had to do, and that time was of the essence.  He summoned Mikey, the ferret in charge of security, and told him to secretly prepare to make a trip to San Francisco.  The pig and a few of his close, trusted friends, the bunny Mr. Sparkles, an escaped former lab rat Nibbles, and a Chinchilla, Peter, snuck on board a greyhound bus destined for San Francisco.  Once they got there, they navigated the streets to a park adjacent to the house where Bob had called from.

Bob had told the pig of a hole in the ventilation vent screen on the side of the house.  Only the pig and Nibbles could fit through the hole.  They waited till late at night and went into the house, after which the pig sent Nibbles to open the garage and let the rest of the animals in while he headed over to the computer to sabotage it.

The pig started chewing up the computer's ethernet cable while it was still plugged in.  He had chewed through it about halfway when he heard the automatic garage opening and expected this would wake up Yue-bing.  Fortunately the other animals were quick to join him and they made short work of the ethernet cable.  Afterwards, they combed the house for Yue-bing but she was nowhere to be found.  Bob was gone also, they didn't find anybody other than a few dwarf hamsters and a fancy mouse.  None of them seemed to know anything.

The pig and Mr. Sparkles were able to access the computer and among other things found Yue-bing had kept a list of titles the group had released in the last several months.

Bob was never found.  Presumably he left between the time the phone call was made and the small animals arrived at the apartment.  Yue-bing's disappearance was only to be expected, she must have run away in fear knowing the small animals would not spare her life for her crimes this time.  The pig and the rest of the team returned home and fortunately the damage Yue-bing had done was confined to only one title.

In this way, the pig's kindness to Bob in the past was repaid.  Those who had doubted him for not ordering that Bob be fed to Sam for his crimes back then were among to the first note the wisdom of his actions.

In early July of 2008, Tofu, who among his many roles in live-evil, one of which is to manage the live-evil trust fund, had to look after the pig for a few days.

Tofu did not realise that the pig was looking over his shoulder as he was managing the trust fund online and when he left to get some dinner, he left the computer turned on and logged in to the ETRADE website.  The pig and his buddy quickly jumped on the computer and sold all the stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other assets that Tofu was holding in the account.  Instead they put all that money into buying a massive number of baby carrot, lettuce, timothy hay futures, and when they figured it was far more than two pigs could eat in a year, they also decided to buy up a bunch of bamboo futures for Tuan Tuan, all deliverable in June 2009.  Then the pig logged out and when Tofu returned from dinner he was so preoccupied with the pig and his buddy that he had forgotten about his duties managing the trust fund until he no longer had to look after them.  By the time he noticed what had happened on the trust fund, it was already well past the 3-day waiting period, the futures were 'locked in' and could not be taken back.

When Tofu relayed this information to the rest of the group, he was stripped of his duties of managing the trust fund due to his incompetence.  In September the market crashed and many other groups saw their trust funds which were heavily invested in the stock market dwindle, causing them to lose key personel or halt operations altogether.  Live-evil would have fallen into the same boat had it not been for the pig's mischief, the interim manager was able to take out loans on the futures to support operations.

In time Live-evil's leaders decided to let the pig take full control of the trust fund and more recently, when the futures became closer to deliverable, the pig was able to trade most of them at a slight profit.  Enough to pay off the loans and still throw a very big party for Tuan Tuan and his panda friends, as well all of the small animals within a 2 mile radius.

In this way, when others first assumed the pig's actions bordered on mischief or pure selfishness, in truth he had saved the group once again.  Once this became obvious, the leaders apoligized and gave him Tofu's old position.  The pig understood that sometimes you have to be willing to risk reputation or short-term personal gain for the long term survival of the group, which is something that even today few fansubbers understand.

Ben ignores Tofu's threats at first, but in the end is forced to capitulate by the pig.

In years past, Otakon has held a 'fansub and industry' panel which was highly attended by fans.  Recently, however, Tofu bungled in filling out the registration form and was unable to properly register the panel with the Otakon staff.  To make matters worse, Mr. Sparkles decided to hold a "Small animal meet and greet" panel at the same time, which caused the rep from Funimation and other industry reps to abandon the panel in favor of attending the small animal meet and greet.  Ben, the prevailing late-term administrator at Otakon, cited Tofu's improperly competed forms and, as fan support dwindled, pulled the 'fansub and industry' panel to make room for a 'hello kitty' cosplay and tea party event.  Tofu tried threatening Ben over Skype, but Ben just laughed it off and ignored him.

The pig, however, remembered his old rival fondly and wanted to help Tofu.  After all, the pig would not be where he was today without Tofu's gullibility and malfeasance in his own position.  He called up Ben on Skype and asked nicely that Ben simply reschedule the fansub and industry panel to a different time.  Ben accused the pig of being a 'Tofu Lackey' and would not talk to him.  The pig insisted that this was not true and to prove it had Tofu issue a written apology to Ben for improperly filling out the forms and beg him to take the pig's advice on the matter.  This did not work either, and Ben did not appear willing to listen to reason.  So the pig had to turn to his friend Simon, who led the famed "bunny brigade" to get Ben to comply.  The pig quoted a rumor that Simon was going to be in town and that if Ben did not comply, he could expect the brigade to 'make their move' and storm the convention hall while all the Otakon staff was distracted or otherwise occupied during the small animal meet and greet panel.  Ben reportedly paused, looking at his list of volunteers and other associated lackeys and noticed that he would be seriously understaffed during that period.  Most of all of his volunteers and most of his staff were taking their breaks then, to attend either the small animal meet and greet or the hello kitty cosplay and tea party.  The event he himself had scheduled at the last minute!  At this point Ben realised his own stupidity and was forced to capitulate to the pig, he rescheduled the fansub and industry panel to a later time and everyone else went home happy.  Even Tofu breathed a sign of relief, and in the end he was forced to acknowledge (once again) his eternal gratitude to the pig.

What happened with Yue-bing, part 1 of a series.

Years ago, Mikey, the neighborhood ferret in charge of local small animal security, set up several "virtual honey pot" accounts on a variety of different servers in order to serve as an early warning system against any kind of malcontent attacks.

Holly, Mikey's "Bunny de jure", or "right hand Bunny", was given the task of running most of these virtual honey pots.  They laid dormant for years, drawing little to no attention at all.  After the Bob/Yue-bing/GE999 affair, Mikey asked Holly to use her knowledge of Yue-bing to entrap her into attacking one of the virtual honey pots in order to assist in tracking down her actual location.

At first, Holly was unable to even contact Yue-bing, as it was obvious Yue-bing was 'laying low' after the Bob affair.  Even with Vincent's help, providing old pictures of Yue-bing to be doctored and parodied, drawing her out of hiding seemed like a lost cause.  Yue-bing was simply not biting at anything Holly did.

What happened to Yue-bing, part 2 of a series.

Holly wasn't able to get Yue-bing attention until she dug up an old story of how Yue-bing had once had a 'special' relationship with a feral jackrabbit known to the locals as "Mr. Buns".  It was said that, during the day, Yue-bing could be seen 'crazy-boxing' Mr. Buns, a type of female courtship that typically only female jackrabbits (not bunnies) indulged in.  Holly's assertion that Yue-bing must have therefore had at least 'some jackrabbit blood' in her veins got her riled to the point where she would contact Holly's virtual honey pot accounts through online chat to demand that she stop spreading rumors.  Still, most of these contacts were done through layers of proxies, making them hard to trace and, knowledgeable of Mikey's capabilities, she never stayed online long enough to be tracked down.

Holly asked the pig what to do and he said to tell him the next time Yue-bing was speaking with her online and he would join in on the conversation.  It wasn't long before Yue-bing contacted her again, and this time the pig and Taun Tuan also joined in on the conversation, with a planned 'good cop, bad cop' scheme.  While the pig constantly pressed Yue-bing's buttons, Tuan Tuan insisted he just wanted the small animals to get along peacefully and that it was unfair they were all ganging up on Yue-bing and saying nasty things about her.  Even after the conversation had ended, Yue-bing and Tuan Tuan continued to talk in private.  Tuan Tuan reported that Yue-bing was really opening up to him and seemed in need of 'a friend', anyone, after so long being alone and on the run.

So Tuan Tuan completed his part of the plan, giving Yue-bing the access data for some of the virtual honey pots Mikey had set up (including the accounts Holly was using to defame her).  Yue-bing simply could not resist, and the next time she was detected online, she promptly took over Holly's access to one of the honey pots and mistakenly believed she had turned the tables on Holly.  What followed was a 20-hour posting and ranting spree where Yue-bing proceeded to post online, bragging that she had 'h8ck3d' Holly's account with her 'l33t skilllz' and a rather poor attempt to post defamatory info about practically every small animal he had ever known in her sorry existance.

Mikey got on the task of tracking her down, while the pig, Tuan Tuan, Holly, and friends just sat back and laughed that Yue-bing had taken the bait.  With access requirements to the virtual honey pots set up correctly, Yue-bing was unable to hide behind all the usual proxies she used and was eventually tracked down to a small, 24-hour cybercafe, in a seedy, south-side district of San Marcos.  It wasn't long before the pig, Mikey, Mr. Sparkles, Simon, and about ten other members of the Bunny Brigade hitched a ride on the "Daily Pet" delivery van and got dropped off in the Vicinity of the cybercafe where Yue-bing had been connecting from.

What happened to Yue-bing, part 3 of a series.

The small animals were not able to find Yue-bing in the cybercafe, but Mikey picked up her scent leaving the cafe and followed it.  This led into an alley and then down an animal trail that exited into a small park.  Simon and the rest of the bunnies broke off the trail and formed a perimeter in the park while the pig, Mikey, and Mr. Sparkles followed the trail as it exited into the park.  There were several bunnies in the park, but it wasn't too hard to spot Yue-bing.

Seeing that Yue-bing had nowhere to run, Simon ordered his bunnies to move in.  Yue-bing turned around hopped back toward the natural trail, but Mr. Sparkles saw her coming and hit his old nemesis midair, knocking her off balance.  Yue-bing tried to regain her footing while Mr. Sparkles bumped her again from the side, and then kicked her with his back legs.  Mikey had taken this opportunity to circle around behind her, then proceeded to jump her, landing on her back and sinking his teeth into the nape of her neck.  Yue-bing tried in vain to escape, but after a few seconds her body went limp.  Death came quickly.

Thus ended the legacy of Yue-bing, who perished at a middle age of 5 years, seven months.  Yue-bing's rise to infamy and subsequent fall began with her stunning defeat in the first round of the bunny caucus, though she would once again find power working in the shadows as a result of the "Frompy" affair.  While the scars of the damage that Yue-bing did while in power are still evident today, perhaps now the world can begin a healing process toward a better tommorow.
