Are you suggesting the people here at L-E should have done something that could get them shut down just because Toei are a bunch of arseholes?

The Live-eviL stuff explained exactly WHY they canned GE999 and Harlock - because they got licensed. Period.

None of us are happy with how this turned out, but don't blame L-E!

Well why didn't heart of madness get shut down? They didn't stop subbing Hokuto No Ken aka Fist Of The North Star after Toei licensed it in the US and they are still going and have completed all 152 episodes. They are an example of what a fansub group should be like, they stuck with their project until the very end.

Nosehole:
Just because you don't get caught it doesn't mean you CAN'T... Besides, it's L-Es policy to drop projects once they get licensed and I respect that.

But it's hypocritical: they drop it after it's licensed in the US but not europe, yet they happily subbed it whilst it was licensed in Japan. The USA is not the whole world, only an increasingly marginalised part thereof.

all the GE999 raws and scripts have been deleted from my RAID system and my working drives and archived on storage drives and put on the shelf with other dropped projects to make room for other new active projects.

'Licensed in the US' is a group policy, that stems from the fact that most members of the group, including the most illustrious mascot and leader, are in the US.  If a group from one of those non-licensed reasons wants to do it, that is their perogative.  He cannot offer direct assistance to such, but for what it's worth, they can have his blessing and moral support.

For those who feel the situation is hopeless, there are options.  The mascot acknowledged in Pigcast #103 "One battle is lost, but the war goes on.  Assuredly we have not seen the last of Yue-bing, but the sooner she is brought to justice, the sooner we can rest knowing that our remaining projects are safe from her menace.  No longer must Yue-bing be allowed to claw away at the hard-earned fruits of our labor.  Vigilance!  Do not despair, for the prophecy of the great unlicensing is draws closer with every day.  Already, the once-unthinkable has happened, one or the once-mighty banners has fallen down, and soon, all others shall follow."  To hear more words of encouragement from the mascot, be sure to tune in to Pigcast #104.  In the meantime, you can help by checking under every nook and cranny for the elusive and traitorous Yue-bing.

Be advised that Yue-bing is dangerous, if you do catch sight of her, DO NOT confront her directly.  Give him a call on Skype, then sit back, relax, watch from a distance if you please.
