New Series for live-evil
« on: March 22, 2004, 04:01:50 pm »
Hi guys!

Now that some series are going to be completed soon (Gilgamesh, Mermaid's Forest) I think it's time for some new stuff.

My no. 1 recommendation is: Monster
That anime is based on a manga by Naoki Urasawa (Yawara!) and I just love the story!!
I'm sure that a high class thriller like "Monster" will fit perfectly into l-e's program.
So, pleeeeeaaaaase sub "Monster"!!
No one else will sub that anime, I'm afraid, so you guys are the only ones I can ask!  :'(

This seems to be the official web site:
http://www.ntv.co.jp/monster/index.html

Judging by the chat on certain IRC channels I'm sure that this series will be picked up by one group or another.

What is Monster about? It looks pretty cool...at least from that one picture on the homepage.

Well, here is a short review of the manga, but it's in German:

You might ask greenkabbage to translate it.  ;)

Sorry for the double post but I've found something interesting:
There's already a teaser for the Monster anime but I couldn't find it yet, all I have are some screenshots. But they are really nice, too!

The story is about a young Japanese doctor who works in Germany. His name is Dr. Kenzo Tenma and he saves the live of a young boy named Johann. A few years later, Johann turns out to be a serial killer and Tenma is haunted by guilty feelings because he saved the live of a monster. But that's just the begining!
The police don't believe that Johann really exists and assume that Tenma himself is the killer. So the doctor has to escape and find that handsome, charming young man, who turns out to be a cold blooded killer, on his own. But things are far more complicated than he expected and he slowly discovers the whole cruel truth behind Johann's past.

Damn, I'm so tired ...

I would suggest an old anime, Samurai Troopers or Ronin Warriors to some.  ;D

Daphne in Brilliant Blue, so far I have only come across one other group that Fansubbing it and it's going very slow, they've just arrived at 6 and it's a very nice series, and not just because there working clothes are so tiny or skimpy or whatever it's called, lol.

Yeah Daphne in Brillaint Blue would be a nice one to work on.

And the group working on it is Lunar / Luner-Anime
Genre is Drama, Comedy, Police, Science Fiction with a total of 24 episodes (that are known of) and the offical website is:

no we're not speedsubbers, but we are quite swift sometimes ;) See WR :D we were faster and had more healthy vitamins in our diet than other groups...
The only reason that we cant really speedsub is that we all sort of have real lifes that take precedence, because they put a roof above our heads. or we are students that need to pass our classes so that we dont get in trouble with the parental units. something like that.  :P

now be more cheerful people, its spring time for hitler and germany

1. they started with speedsubbing so why then suddenly stop.
2. I know LE ain't speedsubbers it's why I joined them in the first place because they are not difficult when one has to answer to the parental unit, upper management(girlfriend's / wifes, nasty little creatures I tell you, LOL) or school and/or work.
3. You might find it crummy that does not mean it is and others might like it and even if it was, maybe I like crummy series, so what's it to you then?
4. Meaning it's slow could also be the story, never heard of a slow story? Or a slow start of a serie? Like the ones that could be long stretched up to around 26 eps., A lot of series that recently have aired seem to be around 13 eps. Since LE is about Quality and not Quantity wouldn't it be nice to have a long series where one could spent time in rather than shove as many 13 eps. series through the mill?
5. Where in my post do you see me saying I wish to speed up?
6. Me personally like to have series from more than one fansubbing group since there's only 1 group fansubbing it I think it would be a good thing for LE to fansub it to bring another translation version next to it so people can choose between them or mix them how they please or is that such a bad suggestion.

And my final 2 words for you "Stuff it".

1) looking over my post where i said that, i dont remember what i thought i was talking about or what i thought you said O_o imo daphnne isnt a great anime at all, but lunar is admirable for subbing it when noone else will touch it (allthough i hear that their t/l for it doesnt wanna t/l it anymore, so i dunno what they're gonna do for 7+). and it's true that i really dislike lunar as a group because of the way they sub. but looking back at my post, i have no clue what i was thinking.............

2) RL > fansubbing

3) i like bashing things i dont like *shrug*. see #1 above and the text under my avatar

4) in the context of your sentence, it looked like you were taking the fansubbers are slow. which actually seems to be the case now, them w/o a t/l and all

5) see #1 >_<

6) i dont think l-e should pick it up (aside from the usual "they're way too damn busy with the other series they work on" reason) because i dont think anyone in l-e likes daphnne. it's just not worth the time or effort. (again, a personal opinion)

hmmm actually now that i think about it,  i must've been thinking that the reason you wanted l-e to pick it up was because you thought lunar was too slow or something..............i see now that isnt the case. so sorry for going off on you.

people should listen to me less, it's safer that way
