I did enjoy adaptation! And I will have to go see lost in translation at some point. another noteworthy director is stanley kubrik. a clockwork orange anybody?  :D

You should check out "Eternal Sunshine (of a spottless mind)", the next film from Charlie Kaufman (Adaptation, Being John Malcovich)...

I have seen it... It's has a dark gritty feel, but the story is more lighthearted... It's a good film...

One of my favorite movies of all time is "Jacobs Ladder"... Just a briliant concept IMO...

City of Lost Children is interesting.  Like Amelie and Delicatessen the guy who makes these films, Jeunet (excuse spelling) is amazing at creating worlds but it seems that with the exception of Amelie he wasn't amazing at filling them.

Guy Ritchie should be shot.  No debate.

A recent movie for me I had hopes for, was Shawn of the Dead.  After all I always wondered why zombies who walk so slow and can be killed by blunt trauma to the head would be so scary to people.  Zombie comedies are not my usual cup of tea, but it was a decent turn considering recent zombie movies.

For one of my all time favorite movies I walked into knowing nothing about Dark City.  It was pushing the animation and ideas of the time.

this i sorta related to this but only because it has to do with a movie.  saw delovely..it was terrible.  the only good bit was elvis costello, robbie williams and surprisingly, sheryl crow doing numbers in the film
