Gilgamesh!
ViD4R:
...this whole anime left me kinda startled :-/
@ shadowreaper: I guess there is some more clues in the recurrent themes that are played. The one which Terumichi hears while he's inside of delphys - and the other waltz like one. I don't know yet where they're from but they sound familiar.
Then, the sumerian creational myth tells that the world was created when earth and sky divided (which apparently is reversed by the cleansing flood).
It also tells of a giant tree which, after it was derooted by the southwind and afloat in the euphrates, is planted in the holy garden of uruk by a woman called Inanna. This tree reaches from the earth to the heavens. Gilgamesh later roots it out.
A tree which somehow reminded me of the hullup tree is to be seen in the last few moments of the last episode.
Whats more, when the Turangalila shoots its beam into the sheltering sky does the whole thing not resemble yet again an ernomous tree? :o
Then again the thing with the pitching fork kinda bugs me. Isn't that what is heard when the tomb of gilgamesh is discovered? ???
so if anyone can make sense of what i just wrote...
plz answer and give me some hints will ya :)
shadowreaper:
Dude, when you said "pitching fork" I kept thinking of a pitchfork...and come to think about it, it is used like a pitch fork at the very end, hehehe.
immortality:
hmm..pretty cool series...made a lot more sense than EVA...everyone basically dies and the world is reborn to the beginning where kiyoko is i guess like "eve" and she kills TEAR to get rid of all the emotions in the world...and begin the world a new...kind of like "reformating" the harddrive :-/
i still would have liked to see maybe one or 2 eps before they finished the series... :'(
Dark_Rain:
Congratulations on finishing this serie guys. It was a really great show to watch and I can't help but repeat what the others said : Don't watch this while using mind altering substances or bad things⢠could happen ^_^.
Anyway, very good work on the encoding and subbing.
ViD4R:
@ shadowreaper: ::) tuning fork, tuning fork, tuning fork, tuning fork!! gomen nasai!!
@ immortality:
The ending really is kinda weird....
As for me i think that kiyoko kinda takes revenge for the anihilated mankind. Her gaze at the end sure does give me some proof for that one.
Remember she was in that cocon which was made up of fused human and gilgamesh matter. So given that she spoke to tatsuya through using reiko's dynamis (and therefore was not dead) there is some slight hint that she would survive.
But then whats with that soul leaving the body thing when tatsuya dies ??? Angels??
Aww :-/ all too puzzling
