Hopefully SSM is back on track again, ep4 throws in a few more characters and keeps things ticking over nicely.

I have not seen any of the other related shows.  Is this anime supposed to be 'comprehensible' by itself?  I like it and all, but I'm totally lost as to what is going on (characters, motivations, who's loyal to who, who's fighting who, etc.).  The actions that the people take don't seem to make sense in any way, it is a very confusing show to watch.

SSM is a little confusing, I think that's because the narrative style is one that likes to hide a lot from the audience.  Seeing a couple of eps of GE999 helps a little (I've only seen the eps we've subbed).

I love the "Galaxy Express Universe" and I just wanted to say thanks for subbing this series and ask if we can expect another episode soon? I know it isn't liked when people bug subbers for eps but I'm starting to get a little worried since it has been a while since we heard about any progress (or drawbacks) in the subbingprocess of this wonderful series.   ???

This show is amazing, Maetel gets even cooler in this one. Can't wait for more episodes, is this done airing yet? Oh, and I got the first review for this on AnimeNfo. Thats right.

There are a total of 4 chapters, 13 episodes. All episodes were aired and last(6th) volume of the DVD is scheduled mid March. Just marathoned through the whole series and all I can say is "Wow". Great series and hopefully we will see more subbed episodes soon.

If you plan on keeping the files it is definitely worth downloading the new ones and throwing away the old ones.

If you've already watched them and don't particularly want to rewatch episodes 1-3, then it is your decision. But don't distribute the TV encodes, please.

The new ones fixed some errors in 1-3, the encoding is 100 times better and crisper :)

I'll second Tofu on this one. The show is being done completely from Region 2 DVD source now.

The TV raws which we obtained were 640x360 DIVX's capped from pay per view. The quality wasnt all that great.

If you want to burn the series off to rewatch at a later date its definitely worth getting the re-encode eps 1 - 3 pack :D

There are also a few editing fixes.  It reads a lot better and there are a few translation changes regarding names and titles etc.

Hopefully we'll have the next couple of eps out in the next few weeks.
