hmmm, so you're not going to give your views first?  In that case, I'm not sure if I should post or not.

I voted. I'll say that at least.  Actually, the gov. screwed up and I got ballots for two states, so I had to decide which one to vote in although I was tempted to vote twice ;P

I would love to vote twice.  I voted for Kerry which is a throw away vote in Kentucky.

I also voted against a law setting the wording that marriage is only between a man and a woman.  That is a gross unjust view of things.  With the idea of seperation of church and state it should be clear that such church based ideas are unfit in the law books where we suggested that we are not supposed to hold up the rights for life, liberty and pursuit of happiness....

Not getting to marry who you love is hindering to your pursuit of happiness.

anyways already a depressing night for me.  More rights to be removed from us all.

so i'm on the other side of the table from you.  Actually I see it as a night for upholding and protecting our rights.
One thing's the same though: I had a throw away vote too- oh joy California.

pretty much the case.  I always said I would leave the country before there were 4 more years of rights removal. I'm paranoid that if I don't get out now I might not be allowed to in the next 4 years. Worst of all if Chaney gets in afterwords. DOOM DOOM DOOM!

i was on the fence.  there were so many reasons to vote and not to vote for either candidate.  i voted for kerry in the end as i feel his platform coincided more with what our constitution dictates.  not like i agreed with those views but i do believe in following what has been proven to work for so long.  if it aint broke, dont fix it.

I really didn't like Kerry, but I guess he was less radical than Bush in views and policy from what works and has worked in the past.  Bush wishes to attack Iraqi while North Korea was getting together a nuke program.

If I had been going to war with anyone it would have been North Korea because they were already required to do things per treaties and rules in place and agreed on.  It is a sign of weakness that we left them alone to take care of a place that didn't even have weapons of mass distruction so that North Korea could finish building theirs.

well, the only part of that i agree with is the not liking Kerry part. ;P

I don't see Bush's policies as radical at all.  Maybe it's because I'm from a military family, but I fully support our actions in Iraq.  And Iraq violated treaties and inernational agreements as well.  Now, I'm not saying that ignoring North Korea is great, but considering that they really started causing trouble after we were already in Iraq, I think jumping in over there would not be a wise idea.  The US may be the only nation to win a war on two fronts in two theaters in the last 100 years, but that still doesn't make it an intelligent tactical decision.

North Korea already kicked inspectors out before we decided to attack Iraq, but then again we were at work with Afganastan while deciding to attack Iraq.  I support the troops being there after the fact, I do not support going into attack when we had little to no support to start with and had a serious issue starting else where that has given others a chance to hold a distructive element that makes them a major player in the world as well now.

Then again it all doesn't matter.  Too late to cry over spilled milk.

I think it's sad we spend so much time trying to 'humanise' war so that it's not seen as bad anymore.  (ie. whining about Abu Ghraib or pulling out of Fallujah months ago).  War is bad no matter how you fight it, even with the dumb 'rules and laws of war' that the UN and other groups try to impose.  These are the people who want to make war eternal or make war the norm... by 'humanising' or sugar-coating it without changing the underlying nature itself.  IMO we should just get it over with (turn the nation into one big parking lot for all I care) and then be done with it, no more war in that country -- or what's left of it.  Time to move on.  This 1984-ish let's prolong the war and drag it out and make war eternal the norm (ie. the 'forever war' between oceania, eurasia, and ???) is just lunacy and it needs to stop.
