Galaxy Railways: Planet of Forgotten Time

Helen:
Happy to volunteer my services if I can help out - I've done editing and beta-reading for professional writers, and I'm a writer myself and know Matsumoto's universe pretty well. I'll be getting the disks as they come out, so I'm happy to offer my beta-reading services to sense check scripts! (Ditto GE999 and SSM as well, since I have both shows in full...)

If that's any help, drop me a line!

(Forgot to mention... I _do_ speak Japanese!! Still learning, but well enough to compare versions when I've got a translation in either French or English to refer to!)

Sounds like you'd be a perfect candidate for our QC Team! Let me know if it's something you'd be interested in. We can always use more help in that department!

That's why I've been cutting my projects down so I can focus on GE999 again some time this year (and for good this time.) That means finishing off Space Symphony Maetel, Rose of Versailles, Creamy Mami, etc...

It's all part of the bigger plan, or something :x

Ah, I see. Starts off with announcing a new series ;)

But I'll be patient. :)

SotorinKaroru:
That's great news! Matsumoto's new stuff has been kind'a iffy in my book for a while, but Galaxy Railways and Space Symphony Maetel have really shown promise and peaked my interest.

Thanks for the news!

No argument with GR - it's the best thing since the early 80's shows ended.

Sadly, I felt that SSM kind of fizzles out before the end - and to cap it all Harlock and crew didn't *really* need to be there at all, if it weren't for a huge stonking great piece of fanw**k regarding the origin of a certain <spoiler> which I can't even describe since it's so pivotal to the darned denoument...  (At least, that's the way *I* read the scene... I could be wrong!)

As a result our boy just mooches around looking confused as if he's wandered into the wrong plot and doesn't quite know what he's doing there! ;-P By the half way point I was kinding of wondering the same myself...

<grins> Given what he's been in since the "revival", Harlock should sue his agent!

Part way through the animators seem to have taken a couple of weeks off and left the work to be done by the tea-boy, which doesn't help! And the story makes no sense at all if you've not seen either the QM movie, or read the manga, since the TV series, like SPCH, kind of did its own thing... Leopald, for example, and that strange little girl-thing with the silver hair with the tongue-twister name...

Now if they wanted to do a prequel or gaiden that would *really* rock, I wish they'd pick up some of the backstory to the TV series version of Queen Millennia and tell *Selen's* story... or make them really squirm dealing with the continuity headache, and make "Miraizer Ban"... and watch the heads explode when people try to reconcile Ban's story (some think this is THE Ban, Maetel's father - me, I've not really got far enough into translating the manga to work it out...) - with the fact that *his* female guide is Kei Yuuki...

<pause> Oh yes... <g> If you think his *anime* has been a bit iffy over the last few years, you should see some of the *manga*... be *very* thankful they never animated more than the first bit of Nibelung no Yubiwa... ;-)

Lost: Somewhere around 1989: One plot...

;-P
