Initial D fourth Stage: Ep. 17 & 18
« on: July 07, 2005, 06:44:39 pm »
I just went to AnimeDB.Net and it says that Initial D: Fourth Stage is 16 episodes, but on the episode list below, it says it has up to Act 18. I'm not sure if it is their mistake or if there is a possibility for ep. 17 & 18 ( which according to them have already come out - 7/5/05). Correct me if I am wrong?

*copies his post from IDForums.net*

I notice its not been stated anywhere before.

If you look at the official AVEX mode site here -> http://avexmode.jp/animation/initial/initial.html

Just below the air dates for Episode 16 is the following Japanese text which says "sara ni tsudzuku".

The translation of this text is "And more to come...."

Hence this means that Initial D 4th Stage is NOT over. At this time there is no confirmation of whether Eps 17 and 18 are airing in 2 months or whether they are on Hiatus.

I would suggest that you keep checking on the OB Planning website -> http://www.obkikaku.com/initial/index.html as the first announcement of any new episodes will most likely be here.

Regards

from past stages the number of episodes has usually been 26, or 13, and since 4th stage is on 16 with more prospectively to come, im betting on at least 26 episodes (and i do hope theres more but *shrugs*

1st and 2nd Stages were shown on standard Japanese network TV, where a TV season is 26 weeks.  1st showed every week in its season (26 eps), while 2nd showed every other week (26/2 = 13 eps).  4th Stage is being shown on Pay-Per-View with 2 episodes every two months, so there's no overarching structure here (like TV seasons) to dictate exactly how long 4th Stage is going to be.

personally, i am of the belief that there are going to be 20 episodes in fourth stage.  i have no proof of this, i'm just going by knowing what hapens in the manga and the games as well as the fact that we got a new op at episode 11.  that would be ten episodes per op, and with initial d thay have usually changed op's at the halfway point of the series.  (if memory serves.)

Hey guys, I just found out some good news. The Release of Episodes 17 & 18 have been scheduled. According to the official avex site the episodes will air on August 20th.

Also around the same time the Initial D Live Action Movie is supposed to be released in Hong Kong. So copies will hit the states at least on vcd or dvd with subtitles, (for people who buy movies from Hong Kong or stores in Chinatown's wherever.) This is not the official release in the US, just the asian release. It's supposed to be around the end of august.

I'm not sure you've also caught this news as well:

Initial D Fourth Stage D Selection 2 will be released on September 28th, 2005

About the soundtrack giving indications, for 1st stage they did had 3 cds: 1 was til in the middle of r32 race cause 2nd disc has burnin up for you, 2nd goes til kenta's race, then 3rd stage was to the end of 1st stage. 2nd stage only had 1 for the 13 episodes. I also believe the nonstop mixes came out after the seasons were done and before the next one started. Maybe that info might help.

Really? Does the first ID4S D Selection 1, include the sound files as part of the set or not?

In First Stage, they used Around the World for the first 19 episodes, then used Break In2 the Night for only the last 7.  Second Stage only had one OP, Blazin' Beat.

I haven't read the manga, but just based on what everyone's saying around here, I'd guess that Fourth Stage will wrap up with the s2000/Skyline battles somewhere around ep 22 (maybe 24).  Takumi's battle against his dad seems big enough that I think they'll make it into "Fifth Stage: The Movie".

Really? Does the first ID4S D Selection 1, include the sound files as part of the set or not?

No, the Sound Files (BGM) and the D Selections (Eurobeat) are separate albums.

looks like my memory did not serve me.  it's been so long since i saw the initial series on vhs from central anime i just could not really remember.  maybe i should go back and rewatch it...
