Playing Blood+

Help, I have a Mac that runs on OS X and use Quicktime to play all my avi animes.  Usually, any problem that crops up is easily solved by downloading the latest codecs.   However, my problem with playing Blood+ is unique.

The video does play; except there's only 5 seconds of it.  I made sure that the file download was complete.  Yup, I have all 170.3 MB of it.  So why is there only 5 seconds of the video?  Even the Quicktime "Show Movie Into" lists the duration as only 5 seconds.  I checked the movie format to see whether it's something that I don't have.  It's MPEG 4 and MPEG layer 3.  I have played other anime files with this exact description and there were no problems for those occassions.  What's going on?

Please help.
