Playing videos freezes my computer
KunoMochi:
I have a straight-out problem with playing videos—any videos. Everytime I do it would start up the player, then it freezes and gives me fruity-colored vertical lines on the screen. I'm thinking that the problem may either be from the codecs I've installed on my computer or that my computer may not be getting enough juice (power wattage) to play videos (which shouldn't be since I've watched Ultraman just fine not too long ago).
I'm thinking that it may just be from codec conflicts, so I would like to know if there was a way to clear out specific (or all) installed codecs and re-install them? I want to see if there's any other way than to reformat my system. ^^;
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Matroska pack to no avail... :-\
Additional feedbacks/comments are welcomed.

Hmmm, give me some into about your computer, like Pentium or Athalon, how many Ghz, etc. and also what codecs you've installed and from where. I don't think it has anything to do with the power. Maybe I can help provided I know what type of computer are you using.
KunoMochi:
Am currently running on these specs:
2.25GHz 3000+ AMD Athlon 64
2 GB DDR RAM
Windows XP Pro SP 2
Only known codecs that I had installed are the ones in the Matroska pack, really. It started up freezing on me when I first tried to run a media through Steam (Valve). Come to think of it, it may be caused by that... Hmm...
:edit:
Oh yeah, I've also tried downloading CCCP, but it yielded the same results.
Other players that I had tried are WMP 10, WMP 6, and BS Player.

as i have said thousands of times if you want help find another forum we dont cater to helping leechers with video playing problems because if you didnt mess with your computer it should work fine if you installed the right codecs
mamochan:
WMP is gay.
Use Media Player Classic or Zoom Player.
