What Makes Us Human?

Being Able to Think?

Able to exploit?

Or Is It More Than Just That?

What Do You Think?

What Say You???

A combination of many things, socialization, reasoning power, ego, foresight, acceptance / tolerance, hope, 'human heart' / compassion, empathy, imagination, creativity, etc.  Though not everyone has all these things, almost everyone has at least most of them.

As for 'humane', I hate it, it's just another excuse for people to try to impose their own selfish ideals on the world or others.  In the end, all things have a true nature, one which can be covered up or hidden but still exists.  It's a waste of energy to try to cover up or change the true nature of a thing; ie. war cannot be made humane since it is war, the essence of which is being ihhumane; love or friendship or empathy or compassion cannot be made inhumane since it is naturally humane.

People who try to set standards of humanity and morality do so out of own selfish needs, for instance the groups that try to dictate how war is fought (or should be fought) in order to try to make it 'humane' are really just trying to make eternal war palletable for the public, or they have the most to gain from starting a war or continuining it.  Or those who try to dictate what an 'acceptable friendship' or 'acceptable love' or 'acceptable feeling / empathy' between people is; when the reality is how could love, friendship, or empathy between people be unacceptable or inhumane.
