Title: Space Symphony Maetel error

Hello,

Space Symphony Maetel error

I receive this error when trying to open episodes 6 thru 13.  which are mpeg 4 movie files

ERROR -37:  A bad filename or volume name was encountered

Please advise.

eps 1 thru 5 are avi and open fine.

Or if anyone can burn me a copy of all 13  of these episodes to dvd I will gladly send the blank dvd's and money for shipping.  Just email me at mgthunderus@yahoo.com

It sounds like you are not set up to play MP4 files or that you do not have the correct codec for h264 or that you have a codec that is too old.

Try updating your codecs. Many of us use the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) at http://cccp-project.net/.

Also, try opening the file from within your video playback program instead of clicking on the file in Windows Explorer. This will ensure that the problem is not with Windows understanding how to play a file with the extension ".mp4".

Ok.  Downloaded....what is a good player for these mpeg 4 files?  realplayer?

Try one of the two players that come with CCCP. Either media player classic or zoomplayer.

Actually, once you've got the codec working, virtually any player will work.

However, Medial Player Classic seems to be the most popular. But I'm biased. It's the one I picked after trying several different players.

File playback problems are usually one of 2 things

either a) the file is bad

or

b) incorrect codecs

I'd download the CCCP (core community codec pack)

That should take care of things or if you wanna do it manually FFDshow + haali media splitter + media player classic = win
