I have been using Vista for 18 months with no problems on the laptop or desktop. I have fixed errors right out the box with vista on other people's machines, however.

Ideally, I would be using Ubuntu with virtual box running Vista so we could still play all our games without wondering about pesky viruses or unnecessary trackers. I am , however, too lazy and now too busy to set it up properly.

With  every question a new question will emerge , espcially when trying to understand why someone would kill...but I think enough " roundabout right" answers have been provided...is a new test coming soon?

somewhat right Tsubie?

If, like Light, you were given the power and the opportunity to create your own morality, would you not be tempted to go down the same path?

Isn't this why everyone can divulge into the depths of the human mind and try to understand the morality and humanity in his path to creating " his own world"?

We are always tempted by the unknown.
From one of my favorite movies: " Look but don't touch, touch but don't taste. Taste but don't swallow."
Going on a little stretch the grass is always greener right?
We sometimes want things we can't or don't have because we think they are better in some way.

I could even pose the old theory...if time travel existed would go back in time and have Hitler executed?... Then what would the future be? who could possible predict that future and be accurate?
Changing one event would supposedly create an endless ripple through time.

We are all humans and we all have our own sense of right and wrong...freewill( provided your not in a country that stifles  it) is what creates and destroys our world. The world will never follow 1 God and won't ever follow the same rules about society.

If you ask me, yes, a crime should be punished with an equal sentence.
So if you steal, something if stolen from you. If you rape ...yeah bubba is coming to visit...and if you kill then you will be killed. But what does this teach? It doesn't show the criminal that what they are doing is wrong b/c it's okay to do it back to them.
America's system of law enforcement is flawed as I'm sure other countries are as well, but what person or group can truly justify changing  or making them?
If we did have one God who would come down the mountain and lay down the law then we couldn't really debate about what is right or wrong.

To me the " the 1 true God" seems to be the greener grass but if it was to ever happen...wouldn't I want something else then?

that's enough of my novel for the moment ( maybe some of us should get together and come up with a #1 best seller about the humanity of life...)

Since this is the deathnote thread I should probablly mentioned that at least once...that tennis match was awesome..makes me wanna start playing!

the cliffhanger ending has to be my favorite so far

well that's my 50 cents worth

Indeed being up early for something important is hard at times...getting up for nothing is extremely annoying.

While I greatly enjoy diving into the deepest recesses of our minds to contemplate the inner workings of such a well written show at times an old and outdated saying comes to mind " take time to stop and smell the roses"...even though I'm not fond of roses myself and prefer carnations, I believe my point is clear.

While it is amazing we can discuss the details of life and death through something inanimate I like to just sit back and take it for what it is without trying to analyze all the time...I would think not everyone interprets the show all the time and just enjoys watching it at some point.
I like to get lost in the show and think about it later...

P.S.  Light is still the best character on the show...

The ice cream was a very odd but nice touch indeed.

I was most excited when Light was using the Death Note right in front of his Father and L without missing a step...very heart pounding

I choose the other side to the bottom...
For "how" the writers have set it out...I don't want Light to ever be caught...

I find that killing is not justified in any way. But I do question what the true difference between Light's "justice" and other justices. Like Stalin was a bad man, still 25% of people over 50 in Russia will say that he was a good leader. Sadam Husain's regime killed thousands, but plenty of people are still convinced that he was right when comitting this crime.

Justice is perception, justice is perception of justice. Legal systems are suposed to be representative of the people, so that the perception of justice within the system is in line with that of the general public. But this is always in clash with someone or something.

Anyway, as far as the anime goes I'll be cheering for Light, "Let me entertain you!"  ;)

Ditto...

Seriously though I can't think of Light's "killings" as I do with respect to the real world...BUT let's live fantasy and say Tsubasa Chronicles is real, Bleach is real, Kenshin was real...etc. Then our "real world" I would have a gray feeling about what he is and trying to do but in the end I would probably be cheering "kira, kira, kira, kira"

Now don't think its the same for me if light's world became our own, then hostghost took the words right outta my mouth...again ;D

BUT if I put myself into the world of Anime then my humble opinon would not think he is wrong nor would I stand in his way...not because of fear , but because I too wouldn't mind " A cleansing of the evil people"....
Now that I think about I should stop right there before I get missunderstood
cause I know at least 1 person is thinking " One man can't always justly decide the worlds fate without being corrupt himself"

Well my head hurts now...I'm gonna go watch it, just to enjoy it for it being entertaing and later when headache subsides I will once again ponder the complexness that is DN

HostGhost-
Actually you were more than correct in your analysis of what I was trying to explain or the lack of having something to explain.
And your network of friends to discuss things to no end if need be is a wonderful thing indeed, I don't won't to make this sound like:  me, I , myself : but I only have my spouse to have intelligent conversations with.
By my choice or how I was raised "friends" doesn't really exist for me.
I can't always expect her to do everything for me.
Yes, that's another reason I enjoy anime. It's an outlet and an escape.

Basically because I'm always contemplating things I (and sometimes the spouse) wonder if the way I think was manifested for myself or are there other people out there that think the same way I do even though their lives are much different than my own.

Tsubasa-
No joke cause it wouldn't be funny. I also use to lay or sit somewhere thinking about things for hours with no real goal or purpose. And by the time I was done I was know better off than if I would have simply forgotten whatever it was I pondered so diligently about...

Not much more can be said, expect I wrote an brief explanation about this on my personal blog...way too lengthy and troublesome even for the "anything thread"

Well Thanks for reading and you know I will respond if you have your own input,
