Past L-E Projects / Re: Yawara

And the series lives again!  :o

I want to thank Live-EviL, Frostii, and Saizen for their efforts in completing this project.  Yawara! is a rather large project to take on, but you have  steadily, if rather slowly and sporadically, been working on it for almost 10 years.  The last week has seen a spurt of activity, with three episodes released so far.  I now have faith in this projects rapid completion.  Dare I hope the remaining 60+ episodes will be completed before years end?  If so, I will be a very satisfied peer.  As always I will seed 125% of what I download.  Thanks again for all of your hard work!
Arigatou gozaimasu.  GANBARE!

I guess I am a little late on voting.  I would have voted for Future Boy Conan and Daughter of Twenty Faces as well if they had been on the list.  I did vote for Yawara and You're Under Arrest.  I am eagerly awaiting future Yawara episodes.  Another old anime that Live Evil started on and then dropped is Ashita no Nadja.  I would love to see Live Evil finish the last few episodes of that series, since nobody else seems to want to.  You can watch the Spanish dub with English subtitles on YouTube, but COME ON!  It's a Japanese film.  Who want's to hear it in Spanish?  Seeing the English subs on YouTube I know that somebody subbed those final episodes in English, but I have never been able to find them on-line.  :(  I suppose I could take the RAWs and then copy the script from the YouTube version and then try timing my own sub....  Actually I have done that for part of one episode.  :-[  I can really appreciate all the hard work you guys are doing at Live Evil after trying to just do one episode by myself.

Since this was moved back into projects, and I saw your April 30th announcement in releases, I am assuming Yawara is once again being subbed by LE.  I am looking forward to it.  ;D
Being the impatient person I am, I have already downloaded episodes 59-124 in the Catalan-Japanese language version with no subs.   :-[  I did find episode 124 released on Nyaa Torrents with the English ASS subtitles.  I opened the ASS file in an attempt to find out who did the subbing, but the only information was about the software used to create it and the version number.  :-\   Anyone have any idea if English subs have been created for Yawara Episodes 59-123?
I will still get Live Evils version as they are released (They are bound to be better translations), but it would be nice to watch the episodes I already have if I can only find the subs for them.  It will also limit the number of Yawara fans who contact LE on these forums, and by e-mail, asking when the next episode of Yawara will be released.  ::)  At this point I would even settle for an English script of each episode.

I suppose I could learn Japanese.  For a guy who is almost 50, I am doing pretty good at picking up the language.  Still, subs or a script, would be awesome!

I will be looking for the English DVD box release at the next Anime Convention I attend this September.  I did see it there last year, but I didn't have the cash to purchase it then.  :'(    I hope it is still available this year.  There is always Ebay and Amazon.

Edit:  I have not seen any progress on this project.  Your site still has it down as dropped licensed, AniDB says dropped as well.  Froth-Bite seems to be gone, I don't see anything new on their site since early 2009.  I asked AnimEigo about whether or not any translations where done for the rest of Yawara and they said they only did the releases for season 1 that they licensed and released.  They actually gave me a link to the same notice you had about them losing the license for the rest of the series, and as much as said get the rest from Live-evil.   ???

Well gang, the ball is in your court now.  What are you going to do with it?  66 episodes left.  If you do 1 a month it will take you 5.5 years to complete the series.   :'(

 [:hello]

Well hiya!

I am one of those creepy older guys who spends all his time watching ecchi boing & pantsu anime.  OK, maybe not all my time, but most of it.  Truth be told I watch just about any anime I can get my hands on.  I like watching the slice of life and historical anime the most.  I prefer comedy to most other genres.  I am not a big fan of horror, although I do like vampire anime like Hellsing, MoonPhase and Blood+ as well as comedies like Karin and Rosario & Vampire.  I tend to get turned off by hack and slash films.  I like beautiful anime that make me stare at the backgrounds.  Anything by Studio Ghibli.  I really liked Moribito - Guardian of the Sacred Spirit and Last Exile.  I also enjoy watching AMV's.  Some of my current favorite shows have been K-ON, Cross Game, Tears to Tiara, Valkyria Cronicles, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Spice & Wolf II, TMoHS S2, Hayate - Combat Butler S2, and a lot of other shows.  I suppose the main show L-E has been subbing that I like is The Daughter of Twenty Faces..  I am glad that the series was finally completed.  ;D
I have also been getting You're Under Arrest - Full Throttle and Future Boy Conan, and enjoyed Detective Academy Q.  I wish Yawara hadn't been licensed since I don't know when I will get a chance to see the rest of it!  Live-Evil, GAMBARE!   [:burtonsnowboard]

I find out about all fansubbing groups by visiting AniDB.  By looking at their calendar I can see what anime are currently being released and what fansubbers are currently subbing them.  I am really looking forward to Inuyasha being finished as well as the release of the newest CLAMP work Kobato.

I think it's been dropped, I know AnimeCo are still working on it, try www.animeco.org for info, but don't expect speedy releases.

Actually AnimeCo hasn't done anything with this series in quite some time.  I think they released episode 36 in August of 2007.  Anime Club Arabic did episodes 37 - 39 around September of 2008, but then they also seemed to stop.  I'll join Raza in asking if you guys are up to starting it up again   ???

Could you finish Ashita no Nadja since nobody else seems to want to?  Rather surprising when you realize that Rosemary Applefield and Nadja Applefield were the first and second place winners of the 2004 Anime Saimoe Tournament  I never have figured out why no fansub group finished this series.  I would think that a show that received first and second place as the most Moe Anime Girl in a series, would have subbers flocking to finish it.   :o   [:love]

I realize that because Nadja and the troupe are touring all of Europe this anime is a translation nightmare  [:perchut2], but I'm sure that a group as great as Live-Evil is up to the challenge!  GAMBARE!  [:burtonsnowboard]

Hi,   [:hello]

Another person who joined the forum just so I could post here.   ;D

I want to thank all of the people who make up the anime subbing group Live-Evil for their hard work and time.  You produced a great sub for all of us and we appreciate it.  I will say you had me worried.  I was really starting to despair that the last episode would ever be released.  I am glad that it finally was.  [:jar jar]

I am sure that many people watching were curious about the young boy, Yoshio, that is looking for his parents.  When he gets in the car and drives away he is telling his mom he wants to be a detective and join Akechi-san when they get back to Tokyo.  The bag on the seat has his name Kobayashi written on it.  Well folks that is all you need to know to determine exactly why he was put in the last episode.  For those who don't already know "Fiend with Twenty Faces" is a villain from a famous series of Japanese detective novels about detective Kogoro Akechi.  The series was written by Edogawa Rampo in the 1920's and 30's.  Yoshio Kobayashi is Akechi's adopted son, and leader of the Boy Detective Club.  Akechi is married to a woman called Fumio.  To find out more go here:

Thanks Live-Evil!  I await your next sub!  Maybe you could finish Ashita no Nadja since nobody else seems to want to. :o   [:love]
