Title: Forum updates
Post by: greenkabbage on July 08, 2004, 05:16:43 pm
 [smiley=zytradance.gif]
A few things:
-Mikala added more smileys
-Mikala added the Quick reply box, it's really handy, check it out!
-Mikala added polls, voting is easier than ever!
-I hacked around a bit and made the ubbc stuff (Bold, italic etc) more intuitive. If you now highlight text and click one of the buttons, you will get [tag]highlited text[/tag], just like you would expect it to work. Smileys and tags are also inserted where the cursor is. (Not sure about the new smileys though) Currently IE and Mozilla/Netscape are supported, as far as I know. I might add Konqueror and or Opera support later.

More to come later :D

Opera support is a must.  How are poor smart phone users like myself gonna be able to access the forums from our phones.

Smart phones are fun.  You can watch movies on them, play emulated games on them, browse the web and they take up a big lump of space in your pocket.

All I know is that I read this book on psychoanalysis and film and it nearly killed me for good.

More Yuck:
-Opera does not support the DOM2 traversal/Range stuff, thus making it impossible to implement the enhancement for the smiley/ubb code insertion.
-currently trying to figure out how to implement it for Konqueror, it should be possible if their claims on the website are true and they have full DOM2 support.

On the other hand you all should be using Firefox anyways, it's much better than opera and konqueror. :p

did you find you needed a note pad handy to keep track of people's names?
Title: Re: Forum updates
Post by: crypticgimp on November 01, 2004, 07:48:58 pm
not really. that's the hardest part as they have different ways of saying someone's name...i know i go by 3 different versions of my name so it wasnt that hard for me to keep track.  and if i did forget the context usually gave away who was being talked about.

Title: Re: Forum updates
Post by: KillJoy on November 06, 2004, 04:53:38 am
yes it was.  Thumbtanic was o.k.  and the Blair thumb was just too much like the real movie to sit well with me..
Title: Re: Forum updates

agreed.  if i didn't want to watch it once, why would i want to watch it again?
Title: Re: Forum updates

making a bad movie of a bad movie is like making instructions on how to be stupid to someone who is already stupid.

some movies just aren't worth watching in the first place.  I mean, TItanic: the fall in love, the boat sinks, one of them dies.  What more do you really need to know?
Title: Re: Forum updates

i remember this girl i knew in highschool came to me crying and said "the boat sinks! it was so sad!" i then said "leigh, its the titanic. EVERYONE knows it sunk and the bodies have now disintegrated intot he ocean.  get over it."  and then i silently rejoiced that leonardo dicaprio died

Has anyone else noticed De Crapio is taking in these period films?  He doesn't really go for movies set in present time.  He takes big buget movies that take place somewhere in the past playing someone famous or playing in some part of time that was famous.

Learn to act, or better  yet stop showing up at all.  Too much to hope for I know

he did play in the movie "the beach"  which didnt do well in theatres.  but you know..with a title like that there is no wondering why it didnt do well...i've tried watching his films but apathy sets in and i find something better to do with my time.. (this post was solely made to get rid of the 666 i had)
