Current & Future L-E Projects / Re: Gallery Fake

I guess I'm doing this post in responce to Episode 5's release.

I'm a big fan of Gallery Fake, and I am very happy with what you guys have done with the series.

Over the course of the last year or so (I've been kinda slow...), I have become an even bigger fan. I bought the Bootleg DVDs and the entire orginal Gallery Fake Manga (all 32 Volumes, ranging back to 1992!). With this stuff I have bought, I have decided to put it to good use and build a Gallery Fake website. It's been a slow process (I've been busy with other things), but I do have 24 anime episode reviews up on my site. Their short, but the cover the highlights of the episode. They also cover some of the real artwork mentioned in the show. Plus, I am building a character database as well as some other things not yet uploaded (like character cels, manga info, game info, and such). It's not officially open yet, but I'll put it here anyways: http://galleryfake.skn.fusionxhost.com/

I would love to help with your Gallery Fake project, but sadily, I do not know Japanese. I do own the Bootleg DVDs which, suprisingly, have very good subtitles. When discussing a piece of artwork, the creator and the name of the work are almost exactly what they should be. The sentance structure is fairly good, except for the intro and ending songs (too literal I think). The only issue I saw(so far, since I write my summeries of the episode on my first viewing) was with Jade's name which was sometimes called Fei-tsui. And any of the other names that weren't exact, you could pick out by ear (Like Charley vs. Charles). So, the only real help I could possibly provide the subtitles from my DVDs. I'm not sure where you all stand on this. I don't know if you want to take the high ground and say "We want to use the resources in our group only" or lesser ground and say "What ever it takes to get this series done." I know that you can't and won't just use the subtitles without checking them over. But, I think it would be much easier if the translator (if found or borrowed) had a rough copy of the translations already in front of them so they can pick out small mistakes and not write the entire thing. I figure it's better that I try to do it this way, rather than to rip the DVDs and toss them onto a tracker or something like that.

If you think this is a good idea you can contact me at one of the following ways:

I'm not exactly sure how to get the subtitles off the DVDs, but I am assuming that they are located on a file on the DVD which needs to be ripped off. We can worry about that later if you want them.

(Also, if anybody happens to have RAW copies of the Gallery Fake manga, in any language, can you also contact me? I would like to add them to my website so other people can view them as well.)
