So the cat is finally out of the bag, congratulations for your new series. Personally I have never watched Queen Millenia before, but something tells me that from now on I am going to.
So as I understand right now the Matsumoto division of L-E has three ongoing projects under its wings, Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999 and Queen Millennia, now that Space Symphony Maetel is done. Well I hope you have the manpower the will and the resources to see this huge undertaking through. Captain Harlock has 42 episodes, Galaxy Express 999 has 113 episodes and Queen Millennia 41. I don't know if you are going to prioritize any of these projects or what sort of time table you have in mind for them but as things are now and with current release rates we are talking about quite a few years untill any of them is finished. Personaly I wound suggest that apart from a movie or a short ova you don't undertake any more projects, I think you already have your hands full as it is.

Godspeed to the Matsumoto division and one last thing, YaoiBoy you know we love you ;)

It appears L-E has turned into Matsumoto's den which I think is an excellent thing  :P
now I hopefully get to complete my harlock/999 archive  ;D

Er... oops. Yeah, sure. I love the Captain Harlock anime titles. I've got all of the ones you can get on DVD (translated, mind you.) And I do also have the series on fansubs. I guess I just forgot about that when I posted, since it's been a while since I downloaded any new episodes. ^^;;

In fact, I'm pretty sure I have all the Matsumoto titles you can get your hand on without having to learn Japanese.

Care to give us a little more info on the TV soundtrack? Number of tracks, stereo or mono, and if its actual music from the show or an arranged album. It'd be really helpful  ;D :D ;D :D

Movie OST has some great music on it. Not that hard to find that one, to buy or on p2p. Kitaro has a number of other great albums he has released that are worth looking into as well.

Here's the track listing (http://www.toei-video.co.jp/DVD/sp21/1000nen.html) of the soundtrack CD :D

Tracks 1-11 - TV soundtrack: OP (full version) + ED (full version) + 4 insert songs + 5 BGM

Tracks 12-19 - Movie soundtrack: all of them are full version BGM

According to this site (http://www.leijiverse.com/jp/seriespage.php?series=024), the TV soundtrack definitly is not complete that 2 of the insert songs were left out.  Moreover, the movie's ED "Angel Queen" also not included :'(

Anyway, just PM me if you want this album badly ;) ;D

I really appreciate that some team is finally releasing Queen Millenia, one of Matsumoto's series I know the less and I have always wanted to see it, but I might sound like a killjoy saying that Live Evil, while wanting to do too much is consequently doing too few. I don't say more than this, I'm no "fansubing-specialist", but seeing  that no new GE999 episod has been released since 05/2005 and no new Harlock episod since 10/2005, I think finishing the first two should be the priority. Well, being able to the three would be the best of course, and anyway, good luck to you and I really hope to be able to see this series one day or another, as I seriously doubt that GE or MQ will be released once in my contry.

To ban me? I think you got me wrong, there.

First of all, why are you shouting at me?

Quote
I IMPLORE YOU TO ASK ABOUT RELEASES IN THE CHANNEL SO I CAN BAN SCHMUCKS LIKE YOU

I've never been asking for more release, and you will never find me on a channel doing so. Sorry, but you won't be able to ban me for this.

I was merely giving my point of view on your editorial line, and if you intend to ban me for giving my opinion, well, that's a sad thing to read... And about the fact that you just got the raw, I'm sorry if I misunderstood, but I did some research and found out :

(you can find it on this page : http://forum.live-evil.org/index.php/topic,232.45.html)

So, maybe I got it all wrong, but it doesn't seem to me that you got the raw a monce ago as this message is from 2004. Well, I'm sorry, I don't spend all my days on your forum, maybe I've missed a few things, but that was no reason to answer my message like this.

So now, I'm ban because I've answered you?

Spartan the general decorum when reading / posting to ANY internet forum is to read around a little bit on the forum because if you make a post asking something which has been answered elsewhere you generally make yourself look like a fool.

If you had taken the time to read other forum posts which are on the first 2 pages of the current projects forum you woud have found answers about GE999 and Harlock namely that
1) Harlock - an effort was made to try and catch up with the special edition releases of episodes which had been released previously as AVI and hence work stopped on new episodes
2) GE999 - I myself only bought the GE999 Boxsets 1 - 3 and hence was able to provide the Matsumoto division raws with which they could sub GE999 just before Christmas. You have to realise that when starting working on any project you have a few things to work through before you can speed up. Once theres a few ge999 eps being finished the Matsumoto division will speed up the release rate.

So as I said please do take yourself to familiarise yourself with recent forum posts before making further posts.

Making stories up again, huh?  Guyz...can we trust his subtitles anymore?  U dunno, he might not like a dialogue and will change it to his will and u ignorant folks would take his masterpiece as to be the handiworks of Leiji Matsumoto.

Hi all
I'm current translator for the QM project.
I'm new in the translating&fansubbing stuff so don't know if my translations quite meet the requirements though Masakari keep telling me I'm doing just fine ;)
Well, what I want to say is that I may be slow at translating(my life doesn't give me much free time alas), but I love Matsumoto's works and have no intention of dropping QM project. Don't know how many years this may take, but I do intend to finish it some day ^_^

Calling all anime fans!!!!

Live-eviL currently has a major shortage of dedicated QCers. :'(
This does not bode well for quick and efficient releases of YOUR FAVORITE ONGOING L-E SERIES!!! :o
Yes, you heard me right! If you would like to help speed the fansubbing process along for your favorite ongoing LE series, or in some cases simply get it moving through QC again, please check out the "Come QC for Live-Evil" thread in the "Live-eviL Recruitment Center" Forum. Read what various staff members have to say about the job, and if you think you might be able to help out send me a PM ASAP! Thank you in advance to those who are willing to give it a try!

Hi!

There is one Queen Millennia TV special wich is a crossover with Akira Toriyama's Dr. Slump (http://www.leijiverse.com/en/seriespage.php?series=025). I've heard that this episode it's probably going to be released in a DVD Box with all Dr. Slump series. Do you know something about this? It would be great if you guys could release this special!

Here's a crazy request, but do any of you Matsumoto anime fans happen to either be yourselves, or know someone who is, proficient enough in Japanese that they could be a translator for one of our Matsumoto series?

It would be inexpressably great to have another TL working in the Matsumoto division, right now we are majorly understaffed in that area.  :-\ So if anyone can help us out, or knows someone else who would be interested in doing so, please send Yaoiboy a PM! As always, thanks for supporting the Matsumoto division as we work to bring you high quality subs of Matsumoto's anime classics!  :D

Actually more like we do have the t/ls but they are either a complete ass or aren't much active in the sense of availability on IRC. So basically someone who has the time and energy to be around and help with t/l checking even shall be fine, don't you think?

-Tsubasa

Helpful yes, but not as useful as another tl would be, especially since we have at least 1 series in need of fullscale tling and not just checking, I mean poor masa if he has to do full tl for 2 series plus tl check for another, especially if we want to release all of them at a decent rate, but any help we could get be it full tl or tl checking would be much appreciated  :D

Well Masa will sure get mad if we get someone additional to work on QM. I am not sure the QM t/l would even like that. Then hell will freeze if we get another one on SSX. Harlock doesn't need one and we got two t/ls for GE999 already. So I guess a t/l check for helping around like for example when suz finds missing lines in one of the scripts is the best.

I know a lot of people are willing to t/l check but not t/l because t/ling, trust me, is a lot of work when you haven't got the manga, especially if your audio is crappy and such. T/l checking a script can be painful (talk about Mami, GE999) but more people tend to come in that way.

If you read carefully Tsubasa, I was not requesting a tl for QM specifically, I was making a general request for additional TL help with Matsumoto stuff. Masa does a great job, but its gotta be pretty taxing trying to do all of the TL stuff for most of the series we do.

I posted this request on all Matsumoto division show threads (with the approval of Yaoi might I add) just in case it brought in someone who was interested in Matsumoto stuff, since apparently that has been one of the main reasons why there was no luck getting additional TLing help in the past.  At any rate, if you have a problem with any of this or feel you need to discuss it with someone, or wish to be apprised of the current situation and TL/TL checker needs, talk to Yaoi, otherwise us having this debate about it kind of takes away from the actual request for help, so lets limit any further discussion on this matter (if necessary) to PM's or IRC ok? Thanks!  :D

okay fellas, i have the spanish tv rip for QM, im doing the subs to the spanish people by using those episodes, i think i could traslate the external subs to english, in that way a member of the staff with knowledge of japanaise, only need to see the episode and make the corrections, but my raws doesnt match yours (because  they are .wmv) so if the idea is okay with you, only need to upload the episode 4 to match the subs with that raw, thats all, take care

Translating from spanish to english then having someone that knows japanese go through it isn't really worth the trouble. Usually the translator will end up haveing to correct so many lines that they might as well just translate it from scratch. If you ecide to go through with the SPansih though, good luck. I am sure some non-english speaking fans will enjoy it.

QM 3 is moving along though. So expect more in the not so distant future.

This project has been left for a long time now and noone were answering anything at all, so this guy came in for help you, and noone answered  him, but you answer after I talk to him cuz I'm spanish and I wanted that in spanish or subbed. I guess if I had talked in english you haven't said anything at all, so you should gtfo and thank someone is interested in the series more than you.

Taken the lead? ROFL.

And you need to learn that translating from a secondary source will lead to inaccuracies and mistakes from the original Japanese.

I dislike the tone which you're taking. Granted you got trolled by Masakari but it doesnt mean you have to replicate his tone does it?

If you two want to work together on making spanish subs of Queen Mllennia using Spanish TV Dubs, go right ahead, don't be surprised if theres lots of mistakes due to the secondary language translation.

We'll stick with translation from original Japanese thank you.

I already know that, what I told him is if he is going to sub it in spanish, and he said he wanted someone who knows japanese to make the corrections.

I dislike the tone which you're taking. Granted you got trolled by Masakari but it doesnt mean you have to replicate his tone does it?

I only replicate this way when someone speaks that way. There are different ways of saying things, and I prefer your way better than Masakari's. Most of all when is the first time he is speaking to me.

We'll stick with translation from original Japanese thank you.

And I love it, but this release has been dead for some time now, when is going to be back? I think instead of bitching ppl on the forums you're better go on with the release and leave ppl talk whatever (considering is the first time and the last time I do it).

PS Any more outbursts like that will probably lead to heavier action than a bitchslap from me.

QM = Queen Millenia
3 = episode 3

QC = quality control

QC is the last big step in the fansubbing process. Once the episode has been QCed, an RC (release candidate) will be encoded and submitted for checking. If it's good enough, it'll get released. If not, it goes back for another encode. Repeat as necessary.

Question concerning Queen Millennia Movie.

This used to be available in two parts from http://www.july25.com/bt/btstats.php

http://web.archive.org/web/20041010032703/http://www.july25.com/bt/btstats.php

You can go back in time and view the above link to know what I'm talking about.

http://sharethefiles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30666

They are mentioned on sharethefiles but there also aren't any seeders.

Does anyone have the two avi files? I was able to download the sub folders but would LOVE to get these avi files.  If someone has them, can Live-Evil pump them on the stack?  (Despite not subbing them)

Can someone provide a source?

Thanks for all your help.

Hi!

I wonder if this can help: I own the anime books for this series and I checked it with the japanese audio and it is a perfect transcription of it. It has furigana with the kanji, which is very useful. I plan to learn japanese, however I'm not able to offer me as a translator for the series, but maybe if I provide you with the scans of the dialogues I help the translator, as he/she will have the written phrases and the kanji to look up in the dictionary.

Please tell something, I love this series and I'd be very happy if I have some way of helping in the release.

Hi Yayoi_Yukino,

Thanks for posting to the forum! Your offer would be most helpful. We have someone who may be able to take over translation responsibilities for this show and having a transcript would be a good incentive for them to agree to the work. Please send me an email at yaoiboy @ pratertech.com or PM me on IRC and we'll get things going.

So, it's now been over a year since the last episode of Queen Millennia was released.  We were hoping we could get four out on the same day, but our quality control staff has been busy lately, so ep4 hasn't made it through yet.

It'll probably get done in the near future, but the same thing might happen with episodes 5, 6 and 7, which are already translated, by the way.  So, if any Matsumoto fans out there would like to help, particularly with Queen Millennia, Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express, and meet the qualifications mentioned here: http://www.live-evil.org/so-you-want-to-be-a-live-evil-qcer/, please apply.  We could use the help!

Thank you 999 times over.  I had almost given up hope.  There are still many Matsumoto diehards out there, but Queen1000 has always been somewhat neglected.  It's imho Matsumoto's best story, including GE or Harlock.  His lyrical best.

Now if only we can get Xabungle and Giant Gorg, but favorites from the 80s.

Yes!!! Finally! Great episodes, and excellent work (as always)!

Keep them coming!

BTW: Are there any plans for the movie too?

I have no idea if we will do the film, but be aware that Box Fansubs has subbed it.
Nice film, although I think I prefer the series so far.

Yeah, I know, I also fansub it in Greek 6 months ago!

But the reason I would love to see this project done by Live-eviL, has the do with the hope that you gonna re-master the audio too! :-)

You see, the original remastered R2 DVD of Queen Millennia, has perfect picture but terrible audio! And we talking about Kitaro here!...
The OST of the movie exists, so a kind of audio re-engineering would do justice to this movie. And yeah, compared the series, is not that good, but the music is! (if you have a taste for "new age" music of course)

Captain Harlock's movie (Waga Seishun no Arukadia) also suffers the same fate. The remastering has perfect picture, terrible audio. Needs audio re-mastering desperate!

Greetings,

We are looking at the possibility of remastering this movie. I have one project to finish up before I can get to it, but it is on our radar screen.

Peace,

Great News!!!  ;D

A great part of the movie, is without any dialogues, so simply audio replacement should do the trick on those cases (for an AC3 2.0 channel audio).

Captain Harlock's Waga Seishun no Arukadia is a much more complicated thing though: now that is what I call a true challenge of audio remastering!

Hi Guys,

After playing with this for a bit, there is too much material missing from the OST CD to make an effect stereo music track. Even the opening narration music is missing. I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop this idea.

Thanks,
YaoiBoy

Too bad...
But if the soundtrack is missing, then yeah, there are little you can do.

Kitaro's music on this one is so good. The audio of the movie does no justice to the soundtrack.

How's ep 15 coming along?

Yes, I know the status page says it's in QC, but does that mean a release is imminent, or does that simply mean it's still going to be awhile from now?

Greetings,

Queen Millennia 15 is currently in the hands of the QC staff. How fast it gets out will depend on their available free time. I am looking over 16 and should have it ready sometime next week for QC. The entire show is fully translated so don't worry... we will see it through to completion, no matter how long it takes.

Thanks,
YaoiBoy

Thanks for the update.  Out of curiosity, have you guys considered the other subbing requests I made?

I too am looking forward to the continuation of this series. Speed isn't the issue, all I care about is it not being forgotten about! There is more in life than only fansubbing. So thanks L-E, the effort is appreciated.

All 42 episodes are available on torrent and on the bots (via IRC).

Been patiently waiting a while for this to be completed.
Now I must patiently wait for time to start watching it.
