i think you may have made a mistake in typing the links, because i can't see your site ;_;

yes...I hate to demux it but I love watching on the big screen and my pc can only hold so much.  If anyone has an idea please let me know.  If not...have a nice day and thanks for the fansubs!

i don't know if this is what you want, but for my DVD's i'm using Avi2DVD to convert my avi's to vob files.  it apparently will do the same thing for mkv, ogm, and wmv as well, but i haven't done anything other than avi's (which, by the way, it does wonderfully).  i'd recommend at least trying Avi2DVD out and see how that works for you.

I love this series too. There's so many series from Matsumoto that are awesome. Hope we can keep bringing more out.

~Vash~

yeah, i really wish i was like insanely adept at learning languages, so i could get really fluent in Japanese and assist L-E with the translation, which i'm guessing is the major problem with subbing stuff, unfortunately it's the opposite effect and i'm learning my Japanese *from* L-E subs... haha

but you never know, i've been told language is a gift of mine so it's not all that unlikely that in a few years i'll be speaking in actual sentences and will actually know how to read kana... ;)

just started to watch this series finally. I am already impressed with the people working on this. Excellent job everyone. Keep the hard work coming

~VASH~

oh goodness, i hope you know what you're getting into.
once you start watching harlock, you really can't stop ^_^;;
and you know you're *really* addicted when you're lounging around and you can't stop thinking about how incredibly awesome he is, with his 70's mop hair, and his skinny jeans, and his eyepatch, and *is dragged away by mii-kun*

*squeal*
everyone should absolutely adore live-evil for taking on GE999.
harlock, too.  i really can't express how grateful i am for your work!
*cue the sparkling anime eyes brimming with tears*  haha ^_^

i'm actually in the process of attempting to get your GE999 on DVD so that when i try to explain to people how good it is, i'll actually have a method of showing them, haha.  silly friends and their ignorance in the realm of fansubs/bittorrent C:

however it's a rather confusing task, so if anyone has experience with putting fansubs to DVD, i'd love to hear from you, haha.

(and rest assured, i have absolutely no intention of selling them!)

Oh good, another Matsumoto enthusiast!  ^_^
I'm somewhat of an artist too, and his work really inspires me - I'd love to see art from you, too!

I just finished Space Symphony Maetel, and although I gritted my teeth through the terrible explosions and fakey 3D ships, I have to admit it was well worth my time - I cried at the end like the sappy teenager I am, lol.  It was also my first real encounter with Tochiro, and oddly enough I've grown to be extremely fond of him too!  ^____^;;;;  I even liked him more than Harlock in that show!  *feels guilty*

th-the one part.. where he pushes his glasses up... *screams hysterically*

okay, well, enough said about that.  haha.
and, i'm Sapphi as you know, but i'm Sapphi in real life too, it's not my real name, but i make everyone call me that anyway.  ^_^

so, nice to meet you, and if you ever want to chat about the wonders of Matsumoto-sensei's universe, you know where to find me!   ;D

oooh, i have another, BIG frustration!  (haha)

okay, so, i have two best girlfriends, and we hang out a lot, and watch anime/Smallville together, and pretty much are just around each other a lot for youth group/church functions and that type of thing.

well, girlfriend #1, my cousin, decided to go on the wondrous south beach diet, (which if you haven't heard is very successful but rather difficult to stick with in the beginning, as you can't have bread/crackers/rice/pretty much anything like that) and it's working for her, so girlfriend #2 decides she wants to try it too.

which is fine.
i'm happy that they're trying it, and i'd try it too, but it involves eating a lot of meat, and most meat just disgusts me most of the time.  also, i can't live without my carbs.  XD

BUT it feels like they're forcing their diet on me, because if i'm around them, i can't eat anything they can't eat, or they'll be tempted and want to cheat.

today we had a big church-related dinner (we're baptists, go figure, lol) and cake was served.  girlfriend #2 turned to me and said "oh no, they're serving cake!"  and i said "i like cake..."  and she said "but i can't have it, and you're sitting next to me!"  so i was like "okay.. i'll just eat my cake outside then..?"  the way she said it, it was almost like she expected me to just not eat any! (i didn't, but not for that reason.)

i mean, it's not horrible, but there's something very upsetting about feeling like you're committing a crime against your best friends because you're eating bread.

yeah.   :-X

hjkasdlhfj.
i'm frustrated with my life.

the (Christian) school that i've gone to for the past 2 years has also been the school that my cousins and closest friends have gone to, now, EVERYONE decides to pack up and leave (for another Christian school) and i refuse to go, it is waaayy too small.  and while i don't like big schools, i really don't like tiny ones.

so yeah.  it'd be okay if at least one really good friend were staying.
but none of them are.  and my one, close girlfriend who isn't going to Christian school #2 is being pulled out of school by her dad because this one desperate for attention guy decided to pull a cute trick and upset the fragile balance.

may i mention that this DFA guy has a fascination with pushing me around whenever he sees me in the hallway?  he's super tall, too....  and i'm like 5' 3", so i'm all like "please don't hurt me.."  haha.

yeah, and uhh, then there's this other guy, and he's pretty much been stalking me ever since he found out that i like anime.  and it freaks the crap right out of me.  and now i'm not even going to have my girlfriends there to protect me, lol...

i know in a couple years we'd probably all be going to different colleges anyway, but seriously, i wasn't prepared to have everyone just up and leave me, heh.  here's hoping i survive next year...   :-X

Since Central Anime has already done the first two seasons, there's really no need for Live-eviL to do it.

That still leaves season 3 but, at the moment, there are no plans to do that, either.

Oh, okay.  I wasn't sure if another group had picked it up ^_^;

are there any plans in the works to pick up Uchuu Senkan Yamato sometime in the future?
i know that there are R1 DVD's, but i'm under the impression they're the dubbed Starblazers version only.  i don't know how easily the raws could be obtained or if it's even a possibility for L-E, but i figured since we have quite a few Matsumoto enthusiasts here, i'd pop the question.

again, i know people are super busy with the series they're doing currently (and believe me, i'm more than grateful for what's being done as it is), but i was just curious if Yamato has ever been considered.  ^_^

hey, where's Space Symphony Maetel?  L-E subbed that too, right?  haha.

i'm reeeally glad the site is back up, i was getting "domain name expired!"  for a bit and i was like OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

When I have both the time and patience to manage another one... since I'm traveling in Asia on business right now you can expect a bit of a wait.

Mmmm.... maybe it'll become an annual affair, the period before new years worked really well last time.

Either way, the rules and specifications will remain the same, so feel free to get a head start. Just don't post anything until the contest is announced, or it will not be counted.

Thanks ^_^

alright!  i'll definitely start screencapping, lol.
thank you, and i hope your business trip goes well ^_^

http://www.miguelmesas.com/fanfilms/PlayHARLOCKsubtitled.htm

A live action, fan made Harlock "trailer."  It's not as painful to watch as I expected it to be actually, despite the fact that it's in Spanish.  ^^  It's from March, so it's possible that someone else has posted the link, but I couldn't find a mention of it.

WOAH!  that was actually really, really cool *_*
despite the fact that Tadashi is a middle aged man, and Harlock is... well, not as good looking.  >_<  and Mime!  she looks SCARY!  haha but Kei is really pretty.

I have to say, if Harlock was actually made into a live action movie, I'd probably die right there in the theater.  :'D

General Forum / Re: Do you rent anime?
« on: June 12, 2007, 05:57:38 am »
meh, our blockbuster sucks.  they don't have very much, but they do have Jungle Emperor (the movie) and Hoshi no Koe, which i suppose redeems them.  they've got some Miyazaki stuff too, but i have this weird habit of getting attached to anime that i'll never find in a blockbuster (samurai pizza cats, anyone?) so rentals aren't that high up there.

besides, i'm one of those people who really hates to watch the same thing twice in the same week, so the viewing of my rented anime is really only about two times per rental (once through in Japanese, and once through in English, if the dub is tolerable).

but hey, that's why i love l-e.  C:
cult classics for the win.
