I think the viewers of this show are overwhelmingly males. For some of them, especially the car fans, Initial D is the only anime they have watched.

But you never know... I was quite surprised when I learned in the Rurouni Kenshin manga that a large part of it's following was female.

Initial D excites me because of its focus and emphasis on the cars, as well as characters that mesh well and a good story. Add on top good animation mixed with some of the best CGI Ive ever seen(especially this fourth stage) and you have a winner, IMHO.

Im not much on anime. The only ones that I have really ever watched were Initial D, Akira, Castle of Cagliostro, Macross/Robotech, Spirited Away. There are more, but listing them all would take too long. I dont know, it appeals to me but it doesnt. There is too much of it for me to take time to learn about all of it. Mostly I like things with great art, like Metropolis. I didnt like the movie, but damn the animation and art was hot.

I always think of betting when I see the world "Pool"

Could just be the people I hang out with.
