Title: Yawara!
Post by: cosleia on September 03, 2003, 09:28:07 am
Hello!  I just wanted to pop in and say THANK YOU for the wonderful job you're doing on Yawara!  The only bad thing about it is that I want the new episodes faster!  ^^;;  Keep up the good work; I really appreciate it!  Yawara is a fantastic series so far, and I'm dying to see the rest ^^

Cosleia:

Thanks for your note. Most of us are busy with summer/end of summer stuff like going back to college at the moment so that is taking up our time. Yawara will hopefully get back on track soon. Just continue showering us with your patience ;D

Title: Your favourite Yawara character?
Post by: Saya on September 10, 2003, 06:36:49 am
Hi there!
I also like Yawara very much. It's so funny!  ;D

I wanted to ask: Who is your favourite character from Yawara?
Well, mine is Matsuda, that sports reporter. He's such a loser and a real idiot sometimes, but he's just so cute. He and Yawara would make a perfect couple.

What do you think?
Title: Re: Yawara!
Post by: The_V1k1ng on September 10, 2003, 01:21:28 pm
Hey, mine is Matsuda-san, too! And yes, I, too, think that he and Yawara would make a perfect couple...  ;) ;D
I would not call him a loser, though, he is more a tragic person, that's why I like him so much. And besides, he is the best fleshed-out character, with depth, in Yawara so far.
Second goes of course Yawara's grandpa...  :D
By the way, live-evil dudes, when are we to expect the next episode? I really wanna see Yawara knock the hell out of that disgusting Sudoh guy, hehe  ;D
And, ack!, I am already having withdrawal syndromes! Taskete!  ;)
@Live-eviL staff: *shower with patience...*

Ep1 makes it plainly obvious that Yawara and Matsuda-san's paths will cross, and almost definitely romantically.

Please don't be skimping on subbing Yawara!   :'(

I know you guys are very busy with the new anime and I am grateful for that.  Still, Yawara is my favorate from out of all your projects so I hope there is still some priority for the old Judo Girl.   ;)

Hey... no complaining!  We just got a new one last week!  But yeah, more Yawara would be nice (I check every day for my favorite sexy and cute judo boy, Mr. Jigiro Inokuma).

Yawara is good, despite being an "old" series. Kudos to Live-evil for subbing Yawara.  :)

My favorite character is Matsuda as well. But I think I'm prejudiced because he's voiced by one of my favorite seiyuu people.  ;D

I think Yawara is the best Live-Evil project right now.

It shouldnt be neglected just because it got no 10 000
downloads per Episode.

Besides, Ive heard there are 90 Episodes to go,
So give it your best L-E

Yawara is my favorate LE project as well.  It's my current favorate fansub period!  I want to thank the crew of Live Evil in doing a great job in fansubbing this series!

Yeah, If only she (Yawara) would put more effort into Judo...  I wonder how many Episodes are already encoded by you guys but not translated.
Someone here you has the time to help wth translating??

Anyway, what are the requirements for joining L-E ??
Title: Re: Yawara!
Post by: Spymon on November 13, 2003, 02:26:19 pm
Ermm, if you look at the credits we already have scripts for the series, we just need to translation check them, edit, typest, encode and QC them.  To join live-evil, do what I did and bug tofusensei, tell him you wanna help and waht skills you can have and you're away!

I also just wanted to come by and say THANK YOUx5000 for subbing YAWARA! and Rose of Versailles. These are my two current favorite fansub projects and I am so eagerly awaiting more. I hope that you will continue to get out the next episodes soon!
My friend and I both really love the older anime alot better than recent anime, so I am really glad to see that you guys are giving recognition to these series. Thanks again!

Ya-wa-ra... Ya-wa-ra... Ya-wa-ra. ;D

I just watched upto 16, another excellent Anime and another excellent job by the Live-eviL crew.

So... eps 17-21?  What are the chances? ;D

Sorry if this classes as double posting.

I purchased the 6 'Project A-Ko' episodes off eBay(.co.uk) the other day and I've just started to watch them.  I'm not sure if anyone here has seen any of A-Ko, but in episode 3 'Cinderella Rhapsody', A-ko gets a job in a fast-food shop.  Guess who has a cameo?  Yawara and her grandfather.  It took a moment to register, but I reconised them.

Just had to share that little bit o' info.

It's not just you, Zentron.  I've had no success with it, no matter what player I've tried.
Any hints from those in the know would be greatly appreciated.  I'm really looking forward to checking it out, but it's very hard on the eyes in the current form.

If you're having problems with the videos you might need the latest codecs. I had the same problems with Gilgamesh. "ffdshow" worked quite well.
I think there's a link somewhere in the "Leeching ..." forum.

Anyway, I'm really happy that Live-eviL hasn't dropped Yawara! I love that series! The final battle Yawara vs. Sayaka will be very exciting, I'm sure.  8)

I just saw the 18th episode of Yawara and all I can say is wow!  What a great conclusion to the first story arch!  I should go back to the first episodes and watch it again in a marathon run!

Thank you Live-Evil for taking the time and effort in subbing this great series and I hope you will still continue to provide the quality work you guys are so famous for.  I know that sounds selfish of me but to me, Yawara is my favorate fansub there is, period!  Again, thanx so much!

Even after installing the XVid Codec, there is a little utility that comes with called AviC (FourCC Changer).  Start AviC and select an AVI file that seems to be lagging.  If both fields show "XVid", change the lower field to "DivX".  It will alter the header slightly, and  should now run in your player w/o choppy video..

I was having problems wth 100 Stories & Yawara.  This did the trick for me.

Keopi's unstable build crahes on install for me every time (and some others I heard of).  I'm using Koepi's stable build #XviD-04102002-1

See if that helps  :)

I'd just like to add my voice in support of live-evil's work on Yawara. It's fantastic that, through their work, we can enjoy classic old series not just the flashy modern series which are often fansubbed.

And her grandfather is teh cool :)

Here here!

On another note, is anyone having problems with playback on Yawara 17+18?   Whilst the black blocks have now disapeared, I am bogged down with error messages!  Anyone else?

I want to send my thanks to the Live-eviL crew for subbing Yawara.  Episode 17 and 18 kicked ass.  I'm glad Yawara put Sayaka in her place, and the end of episode 18 was so sweet.  What a great show.   :)

Post by: Darkstream on April 01, 2004, 09:37:07 am
Hello!  Thanks for subbing Yawara!  Great series.  My girls and I are thoroughly enjoying it.  We just have one question: Where's episode 19!?!  I see lots of new releases from live-evil, so I know you're active, but no word on Yawara!  Hopefully, you're only stalled because the next episode isn't part of the story arch and you wandered off and started working on another series, but we're going through withdrawal over here! LOL  Any idea when we can expect a new episode?  Thanks again.

Glad to offer.  I hate it when a torrent is stuck in the 90's. LOL

As for more Yawara!, I'm getting worried.  They've tackled an awful lot of series.  I hope they don't lose interest.  :/
Title: Re: Yawara! digisubs by the OTHER guys
Post by: Darkstream on April 07, 2004, 11:01:09 am
I just found a torrent of eps 22, 25-31.  These are a grab bag of .asf and .avi files and they are compressed terribly.  In fact, ep. 22 is so bad that the video is completely garbed with MPEG dithering in several places.  I finally gave up watching it.  There wasn't even audio.  Not sure who did these — couldn't see the credits! LOL

But is this why live-evil has stopped Yawara!?  Because somebody else was doing it?  Guys, we still need you!  You won't be wasting your time.  These other turkeys don't know what they're doing.  I can't comment on their translation because the files were mangled...

I sure wish you'd respond down here in this thread. :)

Dont worry people.

There will be more yawara coming here.
In due time.  One of the main staff memebers has been busy so he hasnt had time to work on it.

So please wait.

We know that there is crappy eps out there of yawara.
Been there done that. We have nice HQ raws so ours will be very nice.

All I can say is sit tight and wait.

Thanks

Vash, thanks for the feedback.  It's easy to wait when we know you're working on it.  With all the other series you guys are doing, and Yawara! ending at the end of a story arch, I have to admit I began to wonder as the days ticked by whether more Yawara! was forthcoming. LOL

It's a fabulous series and you guys are doing right by it.  I'm looking forward to more of the same caliber.  Thanks again.

Lol, since when did this happen.... :)  Anyway there is really no such thing as hq raws of yawara, unless you're somehow lucky enough to stumble onto ld rips, which would still probably be pretty bad, and probably the same crappy film->digital transfer.  Point being, no such thing as an hq raw of yawara.

Yawara has been released on DVD in Japan since 2002, you know ?

This mean hq raws can exist.

Hey guys.
I was wondering if there has been any more progress with the Yawara! sereies. Its summer now, and I know you guys are probably busy with other series and such.

I was curious to find out if the people who are doing the subbing were interested in obtaining the HQ raws from the Yawara! Perfect Collection DVD set. I was planning to purchase this set in the near future. I'd be willing to use them to help with the projet.  ;D
