Can someone tell me what happened to Ryuk's voice? It is the same dubber for sure but he changed the way he speaks. Anybody noticed it too?

For me there is no doubt the author wanted to show Light as a psychopath from the very beginning. There were no progress through an evil behavior. In the 1st episode L tells him what he's doing is not justice and it's bad.
Light behind his apparence of a nice and smart guy (listen how he speaks to Ray's widow), he's very egocentric and has no concerns for the feelings of others. He tries to put himself in risky situations (just think how dangerous was the first encounter with Ray , and the second encounter even more risky). He does that only to make himself look superior and that's the exact symptoms of a psychopath.

Back to episode 7, what is this belt and majordomme? Is L some kind of BATMAN

Satsuki, since you have watched the movie, can you tell if that spoils for those who only wathed the anime? Or is it just like watchnig an OAV. I wouldn't like to know a big part of the story before i watch it on anime.

I've just watched episode 7, the show is getinng better and better, there was such a tension during this episode.
But hell, thank you for the ones who SPOILED in the previous page, I knew what was going to happen from the beginning

As far as i know this is not a yaoi anime 
Period.

To talk about this anime/manga i was wondering what were the other works of the author and here's what i found in wikipedia:

Tsugumi Ohba (大場つぐみ Ōba Tsugumi) is a manga writer. As Death Note, the author's only work to date, is suspiciously well-written for a debut work, it is suspected that "Tsugumi Ohba" is only a pen-name for a more famous author.



I would say the true author could be the author of Detective Conan regarding the complex plot, what do you think about it?
I've seen a few episode of Conan and i noticed the investigations were very weird, just like what happen in death note.

I was wondering the same thing, L has dilated pupils, looks like he is ill or on drugs.
Btw he's not supposed to look nice since he is The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Light Phoebus.

My girlfriend have this fasination for L aswell. Allthough i can see it, i can't apreciate it that much. It might be becouse I haven't got the sexual\cutie\japanese\androgyn\etc.

I never new L had this much of a success with girls, he looks like Gakt and a hobo. However he has the true light in his heart.

I wouldn't say i'm a Ryuk lover but i have to say he's very funny though he deosn't talk a lot.

Btw about the licence issue:

It's bad for the licensing companies, who lose out on money.  That in turn makes it bad for those of us who do buy DVDs, because licensing costs are expensive and if companies don't make money they can't afford licensing costs.  Plus, the DVD prices then go up to try and make up for those people downloading licensed shows.  So essentially, the people who sub and download licensed shows are not only hurting the companies, they're hurting their fellow anime fans. 

I don't consider it's our duty to feed business companies. The truth is we don't need them but they need our money.
