is it true that the american version of initial d is changed from the original japanese one?

i want to download initial d so i thought i might ask first.

The top poster of this topic visited the channel and asked the question and I answered it and he took offence.

Simple answer - YES

But no it doesnt give you a right to pirate it and there will be ZERO tolerance to trading of licensed anime on this board.
