Past L-E Projects / Miyuki
« on: March 31, 2013, 08:06:35 pm »
Hi Everyone!

Here is a surprise for you! We just released the first and second episodes of Adachi's first blockbuster series, Miyuki, today! What a nice release to feast on during Easter break! Please get them from the torrents/our bots in #live-evil@irc.rizon.net.

We are doing this project with FroZen-Evil (we just finished Yawara with them) and we're working pretty hard on it. Please use this thread to place your comments, thank us, etc. Note that thirty years ago, Miyuki Episode 1 was broadcasted on Japan's local TV on the same day (March 31st). So consider this a tribute to Adachi awesome on its 30th anniversary!

The Miyuki manga (translated by Mugen) is also available on the interweb and the anime follows the manga pretty closely.

Hope you enjoy the show!

Past L-E Projects / Little Princess Sara
« on: October 03, 2007, 10:56:50 pm »
Hi everyone

L-E just picked up a new project with C1anime and MJN. It's A Little Princess Sara, which is based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett 'A Little Princess', which I am sure we've all heard of. It is one of my all time favorite children's classics. This series is one of the greatest WMTs ever made so don't miss it!

We just released Ep 1 today so go and grab!

If you don't find it on our scarywater page or in our irc bots, go check out MJN's scarywater page and irc channel. We are in the process of making it available on L-E distro and the file will be up soon.

Thank you so much

The topic speaks for itself.

You're limited to 10 words/small phrases at max.

Words like 'cute, nice, mean' are not accepted as they are pretty meaningless. ^^;;

Do not use swear words and such (comply with our *rules and regulations*).

Gambatte.

I'll start:

hmm

About 2 months back, it'd be:
drama, emotions, thoughtful, analytic, intelligent, variety, freedom

Now:
discipline, intelligent, bittersweet, tight, limits, caged, mundane, interactive, real-time

Of-course, if your question hasn't been answered there, you're welcome to visit us on IRC. We're in #live-evil on irc.enterthegame.com. Questions are encouraged to be asked in these forums. However, please keep in mind that they should be relevant to the thread in which they're being asked. Try to avoid creating new threads, especially in the wrong boards. Well, I hope people would find this FAQ section useful.  :D

Past L-E Projects / Death Note Poll 2: The 'justify killing' Poll
« on: November 20, 2006, 03:00:54 pm »
The questions and answer options above are self-explanatory. I'm sure you've all noticed how our Death Note Master Thread has been getting a number of intelligent posts these days regarding the issue behind this poll, that is, if Light's current course of action is in anyway justified or not. He may be God-like, but is that enough to give him the rights to actually put himself in God's place? After all, he is a human and his powers are all due to the Note Book. But again, why did fate make him pick the Death Note up in the first place? Is it because he deserved it and it was his destiny to be doing what he is doing now? There are many interesting thoughts and ideas behind this and of what we've seen in the main thread so far, many of us have agreed on many points regarding the rights and wrongs behind 'killing' itself. So please place your votes here. If you feel like it, extend your thoughts regarding this topic from the master thread to here. ^_^

A little advice though:
Please think carefully before voting. This type of question WILL require some thought beforehand.

Leeching & Technical Problems / The Ideal BitTorrent Client for you
« on: November 12, 2006, 07:25:26 am »
Okay, I've posted this in another thread and I thought we should have a main thread regarding the best BitTorrent out there so here it is.

The following is a list of features of the current top three BitTorrent clients in order of rank:

µTorrent supports:
Priotarization
DHT tracker/network
Selective Downloading
Encryption
Tracker
Remote Control
Super Seeding
RSS
UPnP Port Mapping

Besides that, it uses only 7000k memory.

Azureus supports:
All the above features plus it got all sorts of fancy features and makes you happy. However, it's one of the worst memory whores and will kill your CPU unless you're on a accelerated system. You also require Java. Recommended to anyone with a fast system and who cares more about perfection than CPU usage and do not find having Java installed a problem.

BitComet supports:
Most of the stuff above. What it doesn't support are:
Remote control
super seeding

Memory usage is 20000k to 30000k, although I am damn sure it was lower before.  :-\ It apparently is the best choice client for slow connections like dial-up. There is a leech-only mode too...although that's not a nice feature of-course. You can preview incomplete files and for several other features, I like BitComet the best.

Apart from that:

The 4th position is held by XBT which is a very 'serious-looking' client ^^;; and doesn't support encryption, RSS unfortunately no DHT. So for scarywater's sake, DO NOT USE IT.  ABC holds the 5th position and is a confusing but nice looking client which looks simple but is really bad for slow connections and definitely not recommended for non-advanced users of BT clients. It is similar to a client we all know, BitTornado, which holds the 6th position. BitTornado is one window per torrent and it doesn't support queing, best way to describe it will be the modern version of the classical first BitTorrent client, the BitTorrent. Both ABC and BitTornado do not have DHT backup network so not recommended till scarywater stops having issues.

The first time I ever used BitTorrent, I became a victim of the Artic torrent. That's the most horrible client ever. Looks horrible like a DOS window, non of the nine essential features that most of us require for smooth download. Plus the hashing isn't accurate and saving incomplete. Only recommended to users who do not download batch torrents, do not mind frustrating speeds in the order of 100bytes/sec. ~_~ and do not care about what they're doing and are also on a <500MHz system. So I'll recommend it to my grandma.  ;)

I'll add more stuff as I come along them.

General Forum / nOObs to this forums introduce yourself HERE
« on: November 07, 2006, 09:33:01 am »
Hello people.
I've noticed this board gets many new threads of the variety 'Hi, I'm new'. Instead of having a whole new thread which is likely to get at the most three replies and then die off to the next pages, I thought it would be better to have a single thread where newcomers to the le forums can introduce themselves. Admins are welcome to merge any such single-purpose thread into this thread.

First of all, to all newcomers,
Welcome to the Live-eviL forums. Please read the rules and regulations before posting. They can be found in Current and Future Projects board. Anything outside that, we expect your common sense to guide you.

Please feel free to introduce yourselves here. Maybe also tell us:
a) How you came to know of us.
b) What le shows do you watch and why you like them.
c) What other shows you'd like to try.
d) How often you're likely to visit us and post.

Also, you're welcome to request info regarding any of our stuff you'd like to give a shot but the synopsis in our homepage and whatever you know about it so far is not making decisions any easier for you. However no question should call for any material of the spoiler variety.

In advance, nice to meet you. ^^

General Forum / The Frustration Thread
« on: November 07, 2006, 08:29:32 am »
This is a thread for describing all the frustrations you've been having in life. Fansubbing/IRL, either. Just some rules though:

1) No flaming/trolling other members here if you're staff. This applies to others as well: Do not base your post upon frustration on any Live-eviL member/group or regarding any of our subs.

2) You may sympathise, do not make it worse by snickering or showing empathy though. Any negative comments about any of the posts should be done in pms...but avoid it by all means.

I might as well start it off:
Ever since I moved to this new home, everything bad has been happening with me. Very recently, that is, in the past two weeks, it's been the following
1) Major screw up on College Board's part with my SAT registration and I get notified only a week earlier. -_-
2) Being ecessively hungry, but never being able to eat my lunch.
3) Strikes and such happening outside to such extent I am having to skip all classes.
4) My monitor failing it badly. No anime watching, ;_; Can't afford to give it to repair AGAIN cause I need to use my computer. Cannot purchase a new one too cause it's too costly here.
5) Can't find updated prep materials for my next SAT anywhere in the market cause the prep popular titles all have a 2006 new edition and they're not available here yet other than a copy each at the American Center where they allow you to stay for few hours and read only, i.e. can't photocopy the pages due to copyright reasons.
6) Yeah, forums haven't been nice either lately. -_-
7) Secret
8) Not able to get much work done due to the stress from last week which has kept me really tired. Yet I got so much to do. Although I generally hate 'acting busy'.
9) I can't walk so I'm having to skip on all sorts of party-type programs where there's dances and such.
10) I need to fit in going to a lot of places over the next month but the frequency of visits required to each place and the amount of time I should spend at each place isn't anything close to what can be managed in the amount of time I have.
11) My grandma and mom are being excessively pushy and irritating.
12) Worst that happened so far: My driver was accused of stealing another driver's cell in the same complex we live. Apparently he was sitting inside the other car when the other driver's car returned and found his cell missing. This accusation hurt his pride and he *ran away*. making it seem more like he is the culprit cause he didn't fight. Now, not only something unjust is happening but I can't go to the various places I need to visit till either he returns, if he ever does, or we get a new driver.  But even if we get a new one, he needs to be tested before my parents can trust him and let me go alone with him out. I'm not elaborating one this one than I already have.

Anyways...

Funny, I'm not even 1/4th as worried as I should be.  8) I guess I'm ignoring stuff to make life easier. I just keep telling myself 'Some people got far worse things happening with them'. Take for example the stuff you see in the newspaper -_-.
