I was wondering if you could make 1 big batch torrent of all your released Yawara episodes. I am trying to download them from http://a.scarywater.net/live-evil/ but most of the small 4-5 episode torrents dont have any seeders. And it would be a lot easier to find 1 or 2 people to seed 1 big torrent than 1 or 2 people to seed each batch torrent.
-
People have different mileage on that one. Some people people prefer the idea of 700mb chunk size torrents compared to a large one because they can burn to cd after completing each one. Anyhow regardless, my server doesnt have the the diskspace to seed a 20GB+ torrent cos it only has 10GB storage space INCLUDING the operating system. Also I doubt there would be anyone of us willing to seed a 13GB torrent off our home connection..well I know I wouldnt cos my ISP has usage restrictions and I'd rather keep spare bandwidth for uploading new fansubs rather than seeding huge massive torrents.
However...if someone volunteers to actually seed such a large torrent I would be willing to put the torrent up on scarywater but Live-eviL would take no responsibility if that seeder vanished at 99% leaving you dangling within sight of the finishing line XD

-
well, I've put the torrents I got active for episode 31 to 48...if that helps any.
-
Ok I downloaded eps 1-40 in the small torrent packs (scarywater dosent seem to show all the seeders/leechers that are connected to a torrent on there site.) It took a while to get em almost 5 days. I have been trying to get 40,41,42,43 and I am connecting to no one I have had them running for almost a day and still at 0% in most of them so I was wondering if you could put them into a torrent batch like you did for the others :)
-
54/55 released already! 56 coming soon!
-
Thank you very much - I'm looking forward for episode 56!
-
Thanks for episode 56! Almost half way done with Yawara... It'll be one happy day when all 124 episodes get completed ;D BTW, does this Yawara project include that Olympic special? I can't remember what it's called, but I think it was held in Atlanta?
-
Nope, it's actually the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Yawara is (not) aiming for, rather than the 1996 Atlanta Games. If you look at the countdown until how many days it is until the Barcelona Olympics at the end of every episode, and count from July 25, 1992, the date of the opening ceremonies, then you can get the date of when the episode aired. Or you could just go to this page (http://www.5-ace.co.jp/yawara/houei.htm) for the air dates. ;D
But yes, thank you for putting out ep 56. Looking forward the the next one!
-
when will yawara ep 57 be subbed if i may ask?
i hope it's coming out soon!!
and many thanks for all the other subs so far
they've been great!!
-
Rule 1 of interaction with fansubbers - DO NOT ASK FOR RELEASE DATES WHEN FANSUBS WILL BE RELEASED.

*delays ep 57 because of bob*
-
haha, ok ok i'm new here this was my first post so lesson learned!!
-
have pity on me....
-
so, nothing new yet about yawara?
any info would be more than welcome!!
-
yes its being delayed because of you
-
Ok, its not really being delayed because of you, its been slow in coming for other reasons, but I'd say the next release is on the horizon for the very near future, so don't lose hope ;)
-
people are suppost to lose hope when i tell them to
-
Sorry, I just feel bad for bob24. I've been there too, and I know how much I hated never getting any kind of useful info. Just sitting around for weeks/months hoping that there would be a release from the series I liked. It really sucked so I can't enjoy causing that kind of sadness for someone else. At least not yet ;)
-
Quit defiling the Yawara thread with those Tsubasa -_-
-
You are too nice too kill ;D
-
thanks for episode 57, whomever it is subbing them you have my gratitude i really appreciate it!
and thanks bobby_6
for a decent and useful reply for a change!
-
Wow, I didn't realize that tlynnec did so much of the stuff for Yawara! She deserves a major round of applause!!!!! :D Thanks for all of that hard work tlynnec ;D. I may not have experience with a lot of those particular jobs myself, but from what I do know, I can still truly appreciate all of the time and effort it must take for you. :o All of the Yawara fans out there should really start bowing down and kissing the ground you walk on ;)
-
i meant the specific people who sub yawara indeed, now i know that one of the major contributers is tlynnec. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
(P.S. I'm bowing down for you as we speak haha!!)
and thanks to live-evil and froth bite in general.
-
*blushes*
you guys are too nice. Thx for sticking through the delay while I learned the intricacies of encoding Yawara. We're back on track now and moving along.
I've got to point out the other too staff members who make Yawara possible: mamo-chan, sylf, the QC staff, and our oh-so-wonderful translator koolbear. They deserve ur love too. :P
anyway, 58's in QC now, so keep ur eyes open :D
-
I know only tly and Mamo from the current Yawara staff, and I can tell all you Yawara fans that they're equal fond of Yawara as you people are, if not more. In fact, Mamo goes 'Ya wa la~' every so often. So keep up the great job you people!^^
And I'm sure bobby will be qcing every further Yawara episode too.

Animeigo have licensed all 124 episodes of Yawara for dvd release in the US!
Check out www.animeigo.com (http://www.animeigo.com)
More details are coming soon...
-
too bad next ep will not be released as it has been licensed...
and this thread will be moved
-
/me cries
-
*bobby cries too :'( :'( :'( :'( And hopes that Mamo-chan doesn't have a heart attack when he hears the news..... :'(
-
I'd just like to thank everyone that was involved in subbing the show. I really enjoyed the episodes that I saw and would probably have never checked the show out had it not been for the availability of these fansubs.
-
I can't believe people are whining about Yawara being licensed.
We are finally geting it on dvd!
Only Animeigo were daring enough to consider doing this very long series.
In Japan the boxset is extremely rare and always fetches over $1000 boxset.
Animeigo deserve our support and they've got mine, i hope they have everyone elses here too.
-
Ok, now that I'm over the inital shock, I'm glad that that Yawara has been licensed by AnimEigo of all people. They'll treat the show well and give us boxsets worth having. :D
-
I've been waiting for this day :)
I did email AnimEigo to license Yawara quite some time ago... finally came through!!!
Yawara boxset! Here I come :O
-
He's either taking this incredibly well or...
He's completely lost what little was left of his mind!
-
OMG, this is so exciting, I thought this would NEVER happen in my lifetime. I come back from vacation and take a visit to rightstuf's site and there's the announcement! I'm so glad it's being picked up by Animeigo out of all the company's, I really liked their work on older series like bubblegum crisis.
I only wonder how long it'll take to release all that Yawara!
BTW, any news on whether this license includes the special?
-
At the minute no
-gumbaloom
-
:'(shame
in some ways i would have liked Live-Evil to finish what you started, doing an excellent job.
still all good things come to an end.
lets hope the dvds are of a suffecient high quality to be worth buying and that the dub(i assume it will be dubbed?)is of an equally high quality
so to finish
Thank You For Your Hard Work L-E :)
-
Well, at least they're an good Anime publisher... so it might only be 2 years before we get Yawara available in the UK!! :'(
-
Yeah get stuff licensed, and end up making ppl wait. >_> Even teh licensor, Mamo, expressed his frustration at having to wait the other day. ;)
-Tsubasa
-
For those that don't know, Animeigo gave free dvd preview of Yawara episode 1-4 at ComiCon, but you can get it from their website if you pay $5 for shipping. I got it today, and man does it have a lot of notes. Their asking for feedback on the disc, so I hope people do give them feedback and they make an awesome box set (hopefully before Christmas like the said).

Subject: AnimEigo: Yawara Season 1 now available for preorder!
From: Robert Woodhead
Date: Wed, 02 Apr 2008 14:45:53 -0400
-
Just put myself on the pre-order list, I'm not sure how likely it'll be that over 2000+ will pre-order the set, but I can't wait for it to come out.
-
You did not include the whole letter....
As quoted:
Hello,
You are receiving this email because someone (hopefully you!) signed up
to be notified when our box set of the first season of Yawara! became
available for preorder. We are pleased to inform you that this has
indeed come to pass.
You can find out more info about the preorder here:
http://www.animeigo.com/products/yawara.t
Best regards,
Robert Woodhead, CEO
PS: If you got this email in error, our apologies -- just delete it. We
had an idiot typing fake email addresses into our signup form for a
while. I spent about an hour this afternoon manually cleaning the list
to try and remove these fake entries, but may not have gotten them all.
-
Hi everyone, with all the AX news popping up on the web I decided to check out animeigo's site and they have some pictures up of what the box set will look like, and there's going to be a whopping 60+ page booklet with it.
-
Looks like all people outside of the US or Canada will never be able to watch the rest of this series. It was not that easy to get other series released by AnimEigo as well but Yawara is even harder to find at online shops (probably because of even less interest). We people from outside the states will probably be forced to order it from somewere else and pay a huge tax and shipping (i've paid over 100$ shipping/tax in order to get my fingers on AnimEigo's SDF Macross back then).
Just too bad no another group outside of the US picked up this series in order to make it much easier for people from other countries.
-
Just to give everyone a heads up...
The Yawara DVD Boxset is due out on October 20th.
AnimEigo is closing their pre-orders on the 10th. Pre-order now, before its too late!
Here's the original email I received from AnimEigo earlier today:
*** You are being sent this email because you have preordered the Yawara Box Set ***
Dear Yawara fans,
We are pleased to announce that the Yawara Box Set will formally close on October 10th, and will ship
from our secret lair on October 20th. In a mere 12 days, we here at AnimEigo will once again be
entering "the hell of shipping box sets."
In order to ensure that you get your copy as soon as possible, please make sure that your record inour
preorder system is up-to-date and complete. Make sure the address and phone number are correct;
every time we do one of these, a few people forget that they've moved (grin).
If you are paying via credit card, please make sure your card info is correct (we won't charge the card
until we are ready to ship). If by check, send it ASAP! Or you can pay the balance using Paypal at any
time.
Sincerely,
Robert Woodhead
CEO, AnimEigo

I really liked the job they did with the set (although I'm a fan of the old, regular "big" DVD cases myself, even if I am well out of shelf space). I asked them in an email when I was placing a different order whether they had plans on eventually releasing the rest of the series, but I didn't get a response. Does anyone here happen to have the dirt on that?
-
Just marathoned the first box. Great work!
I really hope AnimEigo will do the entire series, and soon ;D
-
Since this was moved back into projects, and I saw your April 30th announcement in releases, I am assuming Yawara is once again being subbed by LE. I am looking forward to it. ;D
Being the impatient person I am, I have already downloaded episodes 59-124 in the Catalan-Japanese language version with no subs. :-[ I did find episode 124 released on Nyaa Torrents with the English ASS subtitles. I opened the ASS file in an attempt to find out who did the subbing, but the only information was about the software used to create it and the version number. :-\ Anyone have any idea if English subs have been created for Yawara Episodes 59-123?
I will still get Live Evils version as they are released (They are bound to be better translations), but it would be nice to watch the episodes I already have if I can only find the subs for them. It will also limit the number of Yawara fans who contact LE on these forums, and by e-mail, asking when the next episode of Yawara will be released. ::) At this point I would even settle for an English script of each episode.
I suppose I could learn Japanese. For a guy who is almost 50, I am doing pretty good at picking up the language. Still, subs or a script, would be awesome!
I will be looking for the English DVD box release at the next Anime Convention I attend this September. I did see it there last year, but I didn't have the cash to purchase it then. :'( I hope it is still available this year. There is always Ebay and Amazon.
Edit: I have not seen any progress on this project. Your site still has it down as dropped licensed, AniDB says dropped as well. Froth-Bite seems to be gone, I don't see anything new on their site since early 2009. I asked AnimEigo about whether or not any translations where done for the rest of Yawara and they said they only did the releases for season 1 that they licensed and released. They actually gave me a link to the same notice you had about them losing the license for the rest of the series, and as much as said get the rest from Live-evil. ???
Well gang, the ball is in your court now. What are you going to do with it? 66 episodes left. If you do 1 a month it will take you 5.5 years to complete the series. :'(
-
And the series lives again! :o
-
And the series lives again! :o
I want to thank Live-EviL, Frostii, and Saizen for their efforts in completing this project. Yawara! is a rather large project to take on, but you have steadily, if rather slowly and sporadically, been working on it for almost 10 years. The last week has seen a spurt of activity, with three episodes released so far. I now have faith in this projects rapid completion. Dare I hope the remaining 60+ episodes will be completed before years end? If so, I will be a very satisfied peer. As always I will seed 125% of what I download. Thanks again for all of your hard work!
Arigatou gozaimasu. GANBARE!
-
Well, with 62 more eps, one TV special, and a film to do, I don't think anyone can promise when the end date is :)
However, we'll do our best, and the current team is motivated and doing good progress, so look forward to more episodes...
-
