Hopefully we're getting 10 soon!

Yeah, episode 10 is in editing and audio production. I hope you guys liked the new, higher quality sound effects used in episode 9. Got a new sample library CD with my latest video production package upgrade.

Also, there is a simple music cue in this episode that is not on the OST CD. I'm gonna take a shot at making a new arrangement of it. I hope you like it!

Okay folks...

Here is the question:

What file format would you prefer to have for the h264 version?

Here are the choices:

1) MP4 file with h264 video and bog standard remastered aac audio but not 5.1 (2.0 stereo) - CURRENTLY USED FORMAT

2) MKV file with h264 video (hard subbed) with 5.1 surround ac3 audio

3) AVI file with h264 video with 5.1 surround ac3 audio

All choices include the original mono track as well. The XviD version will continue to be released as is. The next release will be based on the answers we receive here. HE-AAC 5.1 is not being offered as an option because I'd prefer not to compress the audio any more than necessary. The music is very dynamic and AC3 will let it sound it's best. ^_^

Hi there,

I've been careful to keep the filesize less than 280MB. Even with the English audio track, there will be no increase in file size. I'm so sorry you didn't like the commentary!!!

Since this show is very unlikey to ever get licensed, we are striving to give you a quality of release that surpasses anything you would get from an ordinary fansub. I want our Captain Harlock releases to rival the quality of a commercial release from a professional distributor. That said, I will not compromise on quality or special features. If anything, I want to add more! Hehe... It isn't called a "Special Edition" for nothing!

I'll be happy to make you a copy without the extra English audio track. It will save you about 80MB. Feel free to PM or email me and I'll get it to you once it is ready.

Well folks... Announcement time.

Sailor Stars is coming!

BUT, we have something no one else can touch: MULTICHANNEL AUDIO! That's right. We are remasting the audio from the original soundtrack CDs. Sailor Stars was yet another show with stereo OST masters that got released in mono. Well, we are going to give this series the respect it deserves. Download the opening animation and hear the difference!

The file format will be MP4, containing h.264 video w/ 5.1 AC3 and mono MP3 audio - another first in the world of fansubbing. Go Live-eviL!

If possible, can we stick with MKV rather than the h264 used on Maetel? Me likey!

I will be sticking with XviD inside an MKV container for as long as I can. I think it is working VERY well.

I'll mention one thing... I see other groups using MKV to HARD-SUB. What is the point? Why use MKV if you are not gonna make use of what it offers?

Hello everyone,

Well, we've finally put out the wacky episode 13: The Witch's Ocean Castle of Death! The title says it all... This is one strange piece of anime that we just had to have something extra for.

In addition to the usual features, for this release you get to hear from the fansubbers in their own voices. That's right: we have included an audio commentary! I'm not certain if this has ever been done before in a fansub. It proved to be a LOT of fun and we will have to do this again!

The voices of the fansubbers you hear in this episode will be heard in the movie which we will be dubbing into English. Production for this has already begun. Release date to be determined.

Stay tuned. Episodes 9 and 10 will be next and then we shall proceed in proper order from 14 onward.

Hi guys,

And now we move on to the wacky episode 13! This episode is the one the Capatin Harlock movie "Mystery of the Arcadia" is based on. Let's just say that this one is a bit "off", so we are going to have some serious fun with it. =)

Look for an extra special audio track like you have NEVER HEARD in a FANSUB BEFORE!

Once again, we will raise the bar in quality fansubbing.

Well folks... looks like the Galaxy Express is picking up steam. Episode 8 is now in quality control testing!

It's so cool to finally get this series rolling again! ^_^
