Soon I'll have a nice schedual, I already know for the next 8 weeks I'll have monday and Wednesday off from school, which mean more time to do QCing.

General Forum / Re: Favourite non-Japanese Cartoons
« on: April 26, 2004, 01:37:59 am »
Oh yes the old non-Japanese cartoons, sweet.

G.I. Joe - My action figures had to endure a lot after each episode, lol!
MASK - Very good for eleminating G.I. Joe's
Old Transformers - Optimus is a red truck but not a fire truck damnit!
Dungeons & Dragons - Fantasy cartoon for the RPG freaks, most likely that's what influenced a lot of people to play RPGs like AD&D.
Spiderman and Spiderman and Friends - which had Iceman and Firestar in it.
The old and the new batman series - both aren't that bad.
Roadrunner - I like it better over Tom and Jerry.
Felix the cat - kinda like the old Mickey Mouse.
Fantastic Four - was cool, well not the Fantastic Four but Docter Doom was cool, lol!
X-men - Awesome series, haven't seen the new one so don't really know if it's better or worse.
The Maxx, Aeon Flux, Daria, Beavis and Butthead - before most people knew what it was and because most of my classmates where not aloud to stay up so late and ofcourse they where very funny, altough Daria and Aeon Flux are more my favs from the cartoons on MTV, seen a couple of eps from Downtown, can't really say if I like or dislike it.
Thundercats - saw that in Norwegian but very cool none the less)
My Little Pony - It was between MASK and Dungeons & Dragons it wasn't that bad and was kinda happy and fluffly like:
Cuddle Bears - (I think it's called in English) I always got told I was the sleepy one.
Gummy Bears (Also not sure on the name) - about some bears bouncing around on their arse after drinking a potion.
Eek! the cat and The Terrible Thunder Lizzards - That was just hilarious.
Calimero - A black tiny bird with part of an eggshell on his head.
And last but not least:
Alfred J. Kwak a original Dutch cartoon, about a Duck that was the son of a mole, strange but very funny, his rival was Dolf (Whom strangely resambled Adolf).
Oh man there where so many great old cartoons but then they started translating them into Dutch (the ones that where not suppose to be in Dutch), now that I could not stand, most horrible mistake ever done on Dutch TV.
I can't to even stand to watch cartoons on TV anymore now that they are all translated to Dutch and most of them very horrible, they should have continued making Dutch cartoons maybe then they'd have better skill in house to do a dubbing.

I'm very fond of Pixar and I think Disney made a big mistake in stopping contract with them but I'm also glad and I hope to see a lot of cool work from PIXAR in the future (Well after about 7 years from now cause Disney is allowed to fart out a lot of continuations to series, I wouldn't be suprised if at one point there be a Finding Nemo again and a Toy Story 5000 if you get my drift.

I don't dislike Disney, I love Lilo & Stitch and the 2nd wasn't that bad but not as good as the first by a long shot but it certainly was better than some of the crap they have produced before that, Lilo & Stitch was a good production and a nice refreshment after so much junk they've farted out, it was really making me sick.

Shrek is cool aswell, that's from Dreamworks, maybe Pixar and Dreamworks will work together, now that would be sweet!

1. they started with speedsubbing so why then suddenly stop.
2. I know LE ain't speedsubbers it's why I joined them in the first place because they are not difficult when one has to answer to the parental unit, upper management(girlfriend's / wifes, nasty little creatures I tell you, LOL) or school and/or work.
3. You might find it crummy that does not mean it is and others might like it and even if it was, maybe I like crummy series, so what's it to you then?
4. Meaning it's slow could also be the story, never heard of a slow story? Or a slow start of a serie? Like the ones that could be long stretched up to around 26 eps., A lot of series that recently have aired seem to be around 13 eps. Since LE is about Quality and not Quantity wouldn't it be nice to have a long series where one could spent time in rather than shove as many 13 eps. series through the mill?
5. Where in my post do you see me saying I wish to speed up?
6. Me personally like to have series from more than one fansubbing group since there's only 1 group fansubbing it I think it would be a good thing for LE to fansub it to bring another translation version next to it so people can choose between them or mix them how they please or is that such a bad suggestion.

And my final 2 words for you "Stuff it".

Daphne in Brilliant Blue, so far I have only come across one other group that Fansubbing it and it's going very slow, they've just arrived at 6 and it's a very nice series, and not just because there working clothes are so tiny or skimpy or whatever it's called, lol.

Yeah Daphne in Brillaint Blue would be a nice one to work on.

And the group working on it is Lunar / Luner-Anime
Genre is Drama, Comedy, Police, Science Fiction with a total of 24 episodes (that are known of) and the offical website is:

Rumic Theather is the 1st season (the story has nothing to do with Mermaid's Forest) and the first season consist out of small stories, I loved that season, still do actually.

If you get episode 1 of Rumic Theather to work, please tell me how, I've been trying to get it work for a long time, not to mention I DLed it again and still not working, I can't even tell you how much I DLed that file, lol.

I think Spymon has answered your question, however reading further, if you people are interested, I could ask my friend to post here about the relation between the Legend/epic Gilgamesh and this anime.

I myself love the art aswell, but then I do have a very odd taste of art, I'm very happy to see this kind of art is still made into animation, it's not that I like the 'new' style that seems to be very popular these days, but I like to see various art and this sure caught my eye.

If there are any German words that need to be translated I most likely will pick out the errors, if there are any, even though I am not German, it's not quite that difficult for me since I'm Dutch.

Indeed the characters have lips, that in fact alone makes it an interesting anime.

I think Gilgamesh is not so popular because there is not much male bonding in it, there is not much of males that have the possibility of liking another male, which doesn't make it interesting for a lot of girls (since they like shonen-ai and perhaps Yaoi) and with Wolf's Rain there was the hinting towards that, maybe good to select a new anime that has that kind of hinting to attract more female fans, or am I seeing this all wrong?

I really like it, I'm waiting for ep 6 to finish, it's taking way to long for my liking, but what can one do, lol.

I don't watch that many love stories especially when it evolves a lot of drama but this might turn me around, it does have humor in it, which comes later on (after ep 4), it kinda has a long intro but doesn't love/drama stories always have that?

I do know this is based on a computer game, did you know that?

I've only seen the first episode and it's awesome, I'm kinda of a sick morbid guy and the more people that die the better, lol, it's probable why I love the serie already, lmao.

No need, I'll seed RTMF this saturday all the way through sunday night, I am not an IRC-fan myself and since I'm behind a router which IRC seems to hate I stick to BT aswell, I am so happy BT is there, BT-ownage!!!

Ha,so I thought right, it does look a lot like Inu Yasha's art, heh, and I just found out that RT is earlier work.

I haven't seen much of InuYasha and it's very difficult to come by where I live, and they don't show it on TV here, I doubt they ever will, I must admit it's the most longest anime serie I have heard off, lol, never enough information, information = Knowledge and Knowledge = Power, lmao. Sess is very molestable so I can understand.

Utena, it will attract a lot of female fans, just like Wolf's Rain did, a lot of female friends I have love Utena and Wolf's Rain.
