Except for the Pig / piggy FAQ - please read before posting
« on: September 12, 2006, 10:33:13 pm »
11/20/2009 Unfortunately the pig passed away a few weeks ago.  Please stop calling his Skype.  The other pigs have no association with the group so they do not want to be contacted about group-related matters.  You will be advised when the group finds a new mascot and leader.

Frequently Asked Questions for the Pig.

1) How do I contact the pig?

2) What are the pig's duties in the group?

3) He's not answering.  How do I get the pig to answer my question?  He didn't give me the answer I wanted, what else can I do to convince him?

4) Why is the pig not releasing [a series]?  What is he waiting for?

5) How can I help out?

6) Where is the pigcam page?

The purpose of this thread is simply to be an online placeholder for one of my own documents, please don't post to it or add commentary, if you want to do either of those things, make a new thread.

We need someone who is reasonably fluent in japanese to help us 'match up' translations with timed, spoken text.  We have translated scripts and timing, but we're having trouble coorelating the two.

Leeching & Technical Problems / shaky pan/scan in SSM7
« on: December 19, 2005, 11:26:33 pm »
Anyone else have this problem?  The OP/ED was fine, but the actual episode, practically every pan was very unsteady.  I'm using an ffdshow build for August b'cos when I upgraded to the latest version the OP/ED of SSM6 would get very shaky.  What ffdshow and other tools do I need to use to play this one back right and not wreck the older ones like SSM6?

Oppai Fansubs / "Oppai Fansub" VHS captures
« on: October 03, 2005, 08:15:51 pm »
Post any comments you have about the VHS captures here.
Regarding Tonde Boorin 1-4, Glass Mask 5-8...
FYI these were made by the new pig using setup that is almost completely different from the old setup.  Which setup do you prefer -- the one used for these latest releases or the one used for the releases before that?  We need people who have seen both to comment in terms of relative video quality, a/v sync, audio quality, etc.  Unfortunately at this time we don't have many pictures of the new pig so comments about which pig is cuter will have to wait.   But please comment on what you can so we can try to decide which setup to use in the future.

Keep in mind that these are older animes and hence it can be difficult to judge proper a/v sync.  Even with perfect a/v sync the voices will never match the mouth movements; in the past I have found the only reliable way to judge a/v sync is by looking at other things like doors slamming, feet stepping, and other things that non-vocal noises.

Current & Future L-E Projects / PSP (.mp4) releases?
« on: June 16, 2005, 07:00:35 pm »
Does anyone care for them?
~100mb 320x240 30fps that are made for playback on the PSP.
For a title like Mami with more fine detail than other titles it is ~110mb, for something like Tsubasa Chronicle, etc. (less fine detail) ends up being ~80mb.
Granted you can always re-encode from our release but it looks better if we do that from the original source, and I make the fonts a little larger so they are easily readable on the smaller screen.

Oppai Fansubs / The Glass Mask
« on: April 07, 2005, 07:17:21 am »
Does anyone care about this series?

A while back a thread was posted on animesuki posing the theoretical question of what to do here

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=29924

After a few weeks, Oppai check back on the thread to find an admin lock it before sufficient data could be collected by the poll.  So we shelve the project.

But evidently there was some miscommunication -- a few days ago our piggy decide we were to release episodes one and two over bittorrent.  Maybe as a protest since his piggy treats at the bottom of his food bowl, forcing him to eat his normal food before the treats.  Either way, now the secret is out and so once again we have to ask if anyone cares about this series and if so how to release it.

Oppai does not make the mistake of posting again on animesuki, since the thread just ends up getting locked in time.  That is why it was determined by our pig that we should post here.

Like it was specified in the thread, the series is completely subbed.  Due to significant technical issues, Oppai cannot release more than one episode per week, if that.

The group vetenarian lists the following reasons for this:  "Being in the state it's in, it takes the pig 7 carrots and approximentally 400g of weed in order to complete the release process for this show.  While weed can be ingested in large quantities rapidly, carrots can only be ingested one per day at most, lest they cause nervous system failure due to overly high levels of Vit. A.  Therefore in our current state we can release at best one episode of this per week without endangering our ability to release this and other similar projects in the future."  Please note that when he refers to "weed", he is not refering to pot (the drug), he is refering to hay, which is pretty standard staple food for animals of this type.

Unfortunately, our Feng Shui consultant is currently on holiday and our Astrologer is busy forecasting his usual doom and gloom (world will end in blah blah blah) so we cannot consult them as we do for the rest of our releases.  Please pass any comments or suggestions as far as this series to our pig so that he can decide what to do from here.  Thank you.

So you don't have to ask here is the picture for our pig.

Live-eviL Recruitment Center / People who like Creamy Mami
« on: November 01, 2004, 06:50:53 am »
We need people who can edit and QC mami in a timely fashion (ie. a few days).  Also you need to like Mami and not feel it is a second-rate project that should be put off in favor of something else.  In exchange, QCers get to hold, pet, and play with our pig, Piiki, who is very cute.

http://www.live-evil.org/sindo/pig01.jpg

And if you do a really good job, maybe we'll let you feed him a carrot.
