Past L-E Projects / Re: Initial D 4th Stage - 2nd Discussion Thread

cyberphunk, I think you've pretty much exhausted this topic of conversation.

I feel no need to defend anything Live-Evil has or hasn't done simply because there's nothing to defend. Because L-E has no written mission statement, there is absolutely nothing to hold them accountable for.

Did L-E stop someone else from fansubbing this show?  No.
Has L-E promised a release date?  No.
Will bitching or trying to guilt trip people bring about a release faster?  No (apparently, you must not have liked the show since you seem to want it delayed further).

If you've already seen the episode, I don't know what you're bitching about. Other fans don't need you to attack L-E to grant them their non-existent right to download illegal material in what you evidently consider a more "timely" manner. In essence, you've stood up and said your piece. Now shut up and sit back down.

Go finish your paper and stop distracting everyone else (ie. me) from writing theirs.

I wouldn't worry too much about Masakari. He just has a thing for Maetel and can't stand the competition.

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. It has at least a semi-unique premise, which is quite the novelty. The characterization is excellent and thankfully hasn't been overly stereotypical. I'll admit, the plot has been rather formulaic and a number of the story devices are quite clichéd. But overall, there are far more brain-numbingly pointless things to be doing with your time.

Will the second season be subbed? Almost guaranteed.
Will L-E be doing it? Doubtful at the moment. Though since Tofu seems to have come out of hiding, the probability is increasing.

And besides, I wasn't thinking about the things I'd do to Sakura in a fantasy setting. Kurogane or Syaoran...maybe.

I used to love that show. I rushed home every day after school to watch the french version.

According to rumour, there is in fact a region 1 DVD set in the works for later this year. It's already been released in english in region 2 and a japanese audio only set as well.

I tried. I really did. Wordpress just hates my computer.

Anyways, why don't you try the carrot instead of the stick. Do you have a positive incentive for anyone who get it done rather than a negative incentive for everyone who doesn't?

Positive reinforcement works wonders.

Gumbaloom, Why the heck are you baiting/encouraging maddness?

Now people are going to be playing the award winning game "Camp-a-Mod" in which they flood the channe/boardl with questions about it's release, when it is going to be subbed, why it isn't subbed, and how they didn't like how someone translated what "Cute Sakura-Chan" said in scene 24.

Get back under your bridge, Troll.  :D

But then this gives you and bastard-sama a perfectly legitimate excuse to be trolls and be mean to people.

There's always a silver lining in there somewhere.

I will point out gumba's faq at the top of this forum. On the status of this project it says:

Quote
3000 Leagues in Search of Mother
     - Episode 8 - Translation/2nd Edit @ TOFUSENSEI? ???

Tofusensei would be the one to bug.

On another note, you get your kids to watch this? That's awesome! The only anime my parents ever got me to watch was purely accidental (like the Thunderbirds 2086 video we got out one time).

I would be willing to bet you that yes L-E is still subbing this (unless of course they dropped it without telling anybody, which I think is fairly unlikely). And that as soon as Sindobook sees this he is going to refer you to the L-E pig as to the release schedule as ordained by the diviners.

And besides, it's barely been two weeks. Have patience.

the metabolism thing seems obvious but I might be wrong...

Saya is kinda like a vampire herself isnt she? As she doesn't drink blood she must have to replace the energy she would get from sugars in the blood with food or something.

I'm not sure I agree but then again that's why I want to see how it gets explained. Details like that make or break a show for me.

I finally got around to watching those two episodes and I'm thoroughly entranced so far. I'll admit though that I haven't seen the OVA yet.

I'm curious as to what the explanation for Saya's high metabolism is. I'm also fascinated by the music. I can't believe they got Hans Zimmer to work on the music (along with Mark Mancina). It should be interesting to see how that pans out. And the cello solos are gorgeous. There isn't nearly enough classical music on tv these days, north american or japanese.

I've heard of this before but never got around to seeing it.  Now I'm really curious and am starting to d/l them!! Yay!!

I've never seen the OAV though ... now I'm curious as to where I can find the OAV so that I can get the full experience ;)

It's licensed. Every HMV I've ever been in has had a copy of it. Then there's always the movie store.

And thanks, but I already have the OST ^^ I was just looking for the track somewhere in them, during Episode 06, most notably.

I don't know if that means you saw the earlier post or not. I think it's track 13 on OST 1. "I talk to the rain".

All right guys, need some help here :)

There's a specific track I'm looking for. I can't seem to find it on the OSTs. It's like track 18, A song for storm and fire (I think that's what it's called) the first OST, Future Soundscape, but it's slower and gentler. Some examples of it in the show are during:

Episode 06: 16:09 - 19:11

I'm pretty sure there are other episodes with it in, but this is the one that really stands out to me and I really want this. It's probably somewhere on the OSTs and I'm just not hearing it, but...help? Pwease?  ;D

I think it's "I talk to the rain", Track 13. It certainly fits in with the theme of that scene.

What a wonderful way to end that series. It had exactly the right composition to wrap up one season and entice you towards the second. And oddly enough, I'm really happy that the second season doesn't start for five months. A break from a story like this is always nice, you end up appreciating the story even more. That's what I find with other shows and my favourite series of novels at least.

And thank you very much guys. Live-Evil and DB did an awesome job subbing this. And you were much more reliable on timing than we had any right to expect. At least among the other people I know who watched this show, as a group you earned a lot of respect. Perhaps not quite as good a coin as the dollar but it means a lot.  :)

I was so impressed that I hope I can actually help out in some way or another with other projects.
