I don't think anyone currently on the staff really likes car shows like Initial D. That includes the translators. No translators, no subbing.

Well known fact: the French are completely and totally insane.

That whole thing is sitting on the ftp right now.  ;)

It's the French OST.

While L-E has done some j-dramas, I don't think we've ever touched those two. Probably best to check D-Addicts.

We did discover that later on. However, that we have to do the Japanese version doesn't equate. The original story is in French, not Japanese, and doing it from the French is perfectly possible. Thankfully, I have fairly cheap access to the Canadian release of the French DVDs. And will probably end up buying them anyways cause I really liked the show in French. :)

Understand that the staff interested in doing MCoG are still considering our options. We'll pick a method and stick with it.

Like we said. The English dub is... painful. And not accurate. And... painful.

The English dub was... painful. It does appear that the scripts were originally written in French, which would certainly make life easier (though all the storyboards were done in Japanese). For best results, we'd actually have a French translator and Japanese translator working in parallel from their respective raws. That might be a little effort intensive, but it might be possible to check using either the French or Japanese versions.

And there has never been an English DVD release for the series. The French version was released in Canada, but that's it for R1 releases.

Since Queen Millennia is in MKV format, no re-encodes are necessary. We can go from QC to RC in minutes! Gotta love Matroska and sub-subs! ^_^

-YaoiBoy

Eh, phooey. I kind've meant for the typical .avi hardsub release since that usually takes longer. You and your silly softsubs. :P

Edit:
Remux, re-encode. Same difference.

QM = Queen Millenia
3 = episode 3

QC = quality control

QC is the last big step in the fansubbing process. Once the episode has been QCed, an RC (release candidate) will be encoded and submitted for checking. If it's good enough, it'll get released. If not, it goes back for another encode. Repeat as necessary.

And as to how I know, every torrent that uses the scarywater page has a.scarywater.net as the first part of the URL. The second part (right after that first slash) is the individual group's page. For ours, you'll see "l-e" since that's our abbreviation. A quick check of the groups page on AnimeSuki will generally allow you to figure out which group the abbreviation refers to. In this case:

http://a.scarywater.net/dp/%5Bdp%5DIchigo_100_Special%5B18B9007E%5D.avi.torrent
dp = digital panic

You'll note that you didn't get that torrent from the Live-eviL torrent page. In fact, you got it from the DigitalPanic torrent page. Talk to them, not to us.

I think gumba might want to modify his spiel slightly to say "accurate scripts". I'm sure that some of the scripts off scriptclub are just fine, but a much larger majority are positively hopeless. It gets to the point where a translation checker might was well just translate them over again.

And you really are missing the point here. We can generally find raws for the stuff we want to do With the exception of Lensman, grumble, grumble..., but translators do what they're interested in. If that includes some OVAs and movies from the 80s, great. If not, great. You'll note that L-E doesn't stick exclusively to older material. We're more of an "Ooooh, shiny! Let's sub that!" kind of group. We do whatever catches our interest, regardless of age.

Believe me, everyone in this group has various pet projects in various states of potentially getting done. Every single one of us.
