Excellent! So you should quit now while you are ahead and still like the series.  ;)

Done and done.  :P

Can you please refrain from posting the same topic twice in a row? It's impolite.

I'm going to point out the stickies at the top of this forum. We typically take on projects that are of significant interest to us or where we can find an interested translator and raws. So unless one of the translators really likes the show and someone has raws lying around (incredibly unlikely) you're pretty much out of luck.

Random capitalization really irritates people.

Except that Terry Goodkind has promised an ending. I think Phantom is the first book in the final trilogy of the Sword of Truth books. Of course I'm not entirely sure since I've only read the first five or so.

I don't know, I rather liked Angels and Demons. The DaVinci Code was tolerable but the ending was pretty bad.

I have to say, I recall some teenage horror I really hated. R. L. Stine and Christopher Pike for the most part. Oh and a series called the Runelords by David Farland. That man should not be allowed to write.

We're not doing Tsubasa. End of discussion.

We'll make you a Yawara plushie if you change your mind.

Current & Future L-E Projects / Re: Nana 2 Movie?
« on: January 27, 2007, 08:42:16 am »
Short answer: I know of no such plans.

The question has been raised a number of times now and been answered the same way each time. The driving force behind all Nana activity was tofusensei. He has effectively stopped fansubbing for quite some time now and unless another translator shows some interest in this, it won't happen.

P.S.:
This will, in all probability, get tacked on to one of the two Nana threads I can see on the front page of the Past Projects forum.

How about GE999? or maybe Sailormoon related perhaps?

There are some good DBZ/Sailor Moon pics that could get used...

DON'T FEED THE TROLL!

One final remark then; I believe this is a bit easy to say. You are the ones doing the fansubbing work because you yourselves chose to do it. Nobody forced you to do it, but with taking the task up on yourselves, at least some responsibility comes. I'd like to believe that I would surely have done something to help you or any other fansubgroup doing classics , but I just do not have the time for it. You guys surely know how much time is spent on the hobby and if I do something I like, I'd like to give it my all and not do a half-assed job, which I'd surely do if I were to help out a group with my current obligations. I do atleast contribute to anime fandom, however, as I nearly solely run a reviewsite, which takes up quite a bit of my free time. But I'd also like to have enough time to be able to atleast watch anime.

The only responsibility in fansubbing is what responsibility we allow there to be. This group has never had a policy of releasing within a given period. Shows take as long as they take. If we had made that sort of guarantee, you might have a point. You say that your review site takes up quite a bit of your free time. Personally (and this is the same for many of the others in L-E) fansubbing takes up all of my free time. I no longer have time to watch anime or do any of the other things I enjoy.

Base line:
A lot of leechers don't understand this simple concept. All the resources of the group are not shared equally between all the projects of the group. You'll find this is the same in virtually every other fansubbing group out there. Groups like to keep a team together on a project. If that project goes into a stall, it really is up to the team members to come up with the resource to replace whatever member has dropped out for whatever reason, whether from inside the group or outside doesn't really matter. You could easily get 3000 leagues to mother by getting ahold of legitimate raws (which are bloody expensive by the way) and finding a translator. Until someone is able to do that, that project will be stalled.

You mean Momo-chan?

Yes, everybody, that's his real nick.

Tsubasa's right, our ability to finish the older shows we're working has nothing to do with picking up season three of TRC. Even the Trapp Family Story is stalled for internal reasons that are, quite frankly, none of the leechers' business. Everyone working on that show likes it and will see that it gets done once certain obstacles have been overcome.

Personally, I find the bitching about the older shows rather tiresome. If you're really that desperate to see something finished, why don't you find out who the project leader is and talk to them to see what you can do to help out? If you're not at least willing to take that leap, you have absolutely no right to complain about the pace they're being released at. The only way to see that a volunteer project gets done is to volunteer.

Thats the coolest picture of Canti-sama I have ever seen.

Are you running dual monitors?

It is, and I am indeed. It ends up being really handy for editing, QC and programming. And for watching anime and being on IRC at the same time...

Yes, a little. I would go insane staring at a mostly blank screen for 12 hours a day (which is how long I'm normally looking at this thing). And besides, the walls in my room are already green...

And besides, it's Canti-sama. How can you not like Canti-sama?
