Current & Future L-E Projects / Re: new series suggestion thread

Dude, calm down.
If you're really upset about it, use that energy, not to complain, but to do something about it. Find out what you can do to help.
And I do like seeing the lyrics to an intro song on the screen the first time I see an anime. Sometimes it's hard to find the translated lyrics to the theme song of an obscure anime.

General Forum / Re: What game console are you getting?

Because of YaoiBoy's comment, I went and searched the Sierra games (I have one- it's a rather strange ocean game where you have to clean up the oceans and search for this one whale).
Space Quest seems to have infinite references to different sci-fi series.

I don't get all of them, and most of the ones I do get are Trek references. But this one I found funny- the spacelab Arcada, perhaps a reference to Harlock's Arcadia?

So I'm not completely off-topic-
I WANT a PS3, and I may get one after I leave for college or whatever else I may do after high school. My grandma gave me some cash for a laptop and other college supplies, and I may use that partially on a PS3. But there are PS2 games that I like, and I don't see many good ones coming out for the PS3 (but I don't want to give up my Xenosaga series).

General Forum / Re: top hated books

Daisy Miller by Henry James.  The most waste of a time book ever. There is no point to it. It's just about this girl and all the guys she flirts with then randomly dies at the end.

I like Hemingway's writing style, but the only one of his works I've read is The Old Man and the Sea, which was rather interesting. It wasn't great, but the symbolism and irony of the whole situation wasn't lost on me.

And math prep materials are annoying. If I were allowed to, I'd be listing math textbooks too. I'm just a little above average in math, and I don't really like the subject. My reading comprehension scores are always at the top of the charts in SAT, ACT, and FCAT, so I'm not completely talentless. And I can hold my own in science, for some strange reason.
I ought to put my money where my mouth is and become a QC for LE, but I know that I'm about to have a lot of responsibilities soon, and I'd rather not  let everyone down because I'm busy.

Don't insult my intelligence. A lot of novels do that to great degree (which, unfortunately, is why I hated the Great Gatsby the first time I read it, though it really stuck with me and I don't hate it anymore), it's just that there's very little behind the facts. I think the idea of the clow cards was unique, but I honestly like strong characterization before action (a good fight scene is fun too, though). There needs to be anime that doesn't try to prove anything, and doesn't try to make you think too hard or say something about the human condition. And I like that sometimes. But honestly, I'd rather go play a video game.

...er... sorry. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, I swear. I just never found CLAMP's artwork or characters to be the type that would leave me in a trance for days trying to think over something or guess what happens next. But also I'm the type of person who figures out the major plot-twist of the movie within the first ten minutes of 'meeting' a character.

About my nickname: yes, this really IS my nickname IRL. Since "R" and "L" are the same in Japanese, Riza (from FMA) was often translated as Liza or Lisa. So thus I was saved from being compared to a saxaphone-playing Simpson. ^_^

a) How you came to know of us.
AnimeSuki. And y'all are the reason I discovered Matsumoto's brilliance.

b) What le shows do you watch and why you like them.
I'm currently almost done with what's translated of Space Pirate Captain Harlock.

c) What other shows you'd like to try.
Anything else by Matsumoto, and probably everything else if I'm bored enough. But honestly, I would have had little to no interest in Tsubasa, because I don't really like CLAMP. I've just never been overly impressed by the art or storytelling (though I do like the rather cute series of Angelic Layer, but that's mostly fluff).

d) How often you're likely to visit us and post.
Not a clue. I tend to be a bit of a lurker, because I don't like making posts that pretty much say "I agree".
