Tsubasa Second Season Master Thread Rules

1. DO NOT DISCUSS WHERE OR HOW TO GET ILLEGAL COPIES OF TSUBASA CHRONCILE SEASON 1

2. DO NOT DISUCSS WHERE OR HOW TO GET ILLEGAL COPIES OF TSUBASA / XXXHOLIC MOVIES

3. If a license is announced for Tsubasa 2nd Season over the next few months the same will apply to Tsubasa 2nd Season and we ask that you respect the rights of Funimation by ceasing distribution of our fansubs.

Tsubasa Second Season Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are we subbing Tsubasa Chronicles 2nd Season ?

The answer for all you lucky Tsubasa fans is yes ?

2. Where can I get Eps 1 - 26 ???

Tsubasa Chronicle Episodes 1 - 26 have a confirmed license by Funimation Entertainment. Live-eviL does not sub or distribute license anime and so you can't get that from us. Please buy the DVD's from Funimation when they are released later this year.

Also please note that Enterthegame has a strict no licensed anime policy and so if anyone comes to the IRC channel asking for Season 1 you will be dealt with severely. Also please do not server any eps.

We ask that you do not distribute our fansubs of Season 1 as they are licensed anime.

3. What is the licensing status of Season 2

The licensing status of Season 2 is at this present time unconfirmed. Funimation has neither confirmed or denied that they are the license holders for Season 2.

4. What happens if Tsubasa Second Season becomes a confirmed license ?

Because we are on a network that prohibitis licensed anime fansubbing and distribution the project will be dropped without question?

5. Will you move to rizon so you can continue to fansub it ?

The answer to that is NO. We always respect the rights of American Licensors.

6. What about the XXXHolic and Tsubasa Movies ???

The movies are both licensed by Funimation and as such we have no intention of fansubbing them. Please await Funimations official DVD's.

7. What about XXXHolic TV Series ???

We have no plans to sub XXXHolic TV at this time.

A scan from Anime Insider has turned up on image hosting

http://img56.imageshack.us/full.php?image=animeinsider0602p29lofi5ai.png

Within that it if you read it fully it states that Tsubasa Season 2 and XXXHolic TV are "no comment". In other words AT THIS CURRENT MOMENT IN TIME they are not licensed but there is a VERY HIGH chance that they *will* get licensed.

The use of "no comment" with respect to anime licenses means that Funimation has an option on XXXHolic and Tsubasa Season 2 and 3 but they haven't put ink to paper yet on a formal contract.

What will happen with regards to the DB/L-E joint project to sub Tsubasa will be announced when Tofusensei actually reappears on IRC.

HOWEVER

What this still does not preclude the following
Tsubasa Chronicle Season 1
XXXHolic Theatrical Feature
Tsubasa Chronicle Theatrical Feature

ARE ALL LICENSED.

Do not ask how to download the above or share links on these forums on where to.

Regards

Just a quick note about licensed anime.

Live-eviL does not undertake the subtitling of licensed anime and we discontinue the subtitling of any series which are announced as being licensed in the Western Hemisphere.

Whilst this decision is an ethical decision of the people working on the shows there is also another reason. The IRC network which we are hosted on Enterthegame has strict rules about licensed anime and we respect those rules.

The rules can be found here - http://www.enterthegame.com/etg-rules.htm

Part 2 Section 8 of the rules states and I quote

Quote
No licensed anime: This refers to any anime series, movie or manga that has been licensed outside of Japan. Even if it has been licensed and not released yet, it is not to be distributed on ETG or subtitled by a group on ETG. When series get licensed you are responsible to remove all copies of them from distribution.

If a company that holds the copyright to a material asks you not to sub it or to remove it you have to obey by that request as it is illegal not to.

If you see someone serving licensed anime, tell him or her to remove it and inform them of the rules. If you are in charge of the channel its being done in and they don't comply, ban them from the channel. Likewise if they don't stop distributing such titles let an ETG staff member know and we will look into it and confront them on it or remove them from the network depending on the case and if they co-operate.

Therefore please do not ask how to obtain raws or subtitled versions of licensed versions of anime either on our forums or in the IRC channel. If you are running an fserve in #live-evil please do not server licensed anime in our channel.

We thank you for your co-operation

Past L-E Projects / Tsubasa VERY PROBABLY licensed by Funimation
« on: December 08, 2005, 08:44:27 am »
Although not confirmed 100% officially by Funimation it has come to our attention that they are now the legitimate rights holders to the Tsubasa Chronicle Anime.

The evidence for this is as follows -

1) Shinsen-subs received a Cease and Desist letter (a request to stop fansubbing licensed anime) and Tsubasa was mentioned in the list.
2) Funimation has registered www.tsubasa.tv. You can check this yourself using the Network Solutions whois lookup.
3) Animesuki has taken the decision to remove Tsubasa Torrents
4) Animenewsnetwork considered the news important enough to mention it on their news site.

Live-eviL as a rule does not get involved in the subbing of licensed anime. We respect the rights of legitamte rights holders and will discontinue fansubbing of such series.

I know a lot of people will say "OMG THAT SUCKS YOU MUST CARRY ON". Our policy is to be better safe than sorry. We don't want to get in to trouble with Funimation and get Cease and Desist Letters ourselves. All such pleas will be ignored.

Unless Funimation outright denies publicly that they've licensed Tsubasa and put a license by them beyond all doubt we will no longer be involved with Tsubasa.

We would encourage everyone to support the legitimate licensors and buy the DVD's when they are released.

Normal Edition - 2500 yen

If you like the series then of course go out and buy it.

If you want Live-eviL to sub it then I'd suggest you send emails to tofusensei@live-evil.org / AIM : Tofusensei / IRC Tofusensei or Tofu2 as he's the guy who will be buying the DVD and translating. Currently he's missing in action and we have no clue as to his whereabouts so if you wanna see it subbed you're gonna have to find him for us XD

This thread has been created by myself to try and reduce the number of threads enquiring about the project status of a particular project where there hasn't been a release for some time and an "assumption" that we've dropped it or whatever. I will update this thread periodically as and when there is new project status information available.

**Please note that nobody will enter in to project status information over and above what is contained in this topic**

A few points to note

1) THE NEXT EPISODE IS OUT WHEN IT'S OUT.
There are many reason's why an episode of your show might not have been released for some time. This might be due to staff members real life commitments, work, school and so on. Please DO NOT come to IRC asking us when the next episode of X will be out as it's incredibly irritating and detracts from time spent actually fansubbing.

2) A PROJECT IS NOT DROPPED UNLESS IT SAYS SO ON THE LIVE-EVIL HOMEPAGE OR THERE ARE POSTS FROM STAFF MEMBERS ON THE FORUMS
A project is not dropped officially by Live-eviL unless you see an official announcement on the live-evil homepage stating that the show has been licensed or that we've dropped it or you see posts by staff members on these forums. If you see neither of these then the project is still active and ongoing.

3) How an episode is fansubbed

Translation -> Timing -> Editing -> Typesetting -> QC encode -> QC -> QC implement -> Final Encode -> Distro -> RELEASE

Note there is no set time for how long each stage may take. The time taken for each stage will vary from episode to episode for many reasons. Please don't ask why as there will be many different reasons.

PROJECT STATUS
---------------------

LAST UPDATED : 15th October 2006

Please note that any project which shows Tofusensei as being the current person responsible for working on an episode can and will be subject to delay due to him being intensely busy with real life commitments. He can go offline for months at a spell and when he is online he will prioritize what he spends his time working on. If you wish to enquire when he will have time to work on your particular project please address your inquiries directly to tofusensei@live-evil.org or AIM - Tofusensei

General Forum / Live-eviL Homepage hacked
« on: October 15, 2005, 11:18:16 pm »
It would appear that we've suffered a PHP/SQL exploit of some kind on our homepage and the wordpress news publishing system.

Please bear with us untill someone with webadmin access is available to fix this issue.

If anyone knows the identity of these script kiddies please provide any information you may have in email to mikala@live-evil.org so he can report them to the appropriate authorities.

Current & Future L-E Projects / Blood+ Comments
« on: October 11, 2005, 02:06:25 pm »
So whatchya think of our new show?

Discouss :o

-gumbaloom

25
Ok,

Ep 25's just aired and the news from Japan currently indicates that there will be 3 seasons of Tsubasa of 26 episodes each separated by 6 month gaps where older CLAMP anime series will be repeated so you've got a six month wait from the looks of things before you find out how the story continues.

Use this thread to speculate and drool about the new season of Tsubasa and of course discuss the eps when it eventually starts.

Hey all,

New Project from Live-eviL. We're pleased to release episode 1 of the NHK anime "The Snow Queen" based on the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale.

It's been expanded a bit from the original tale but we're sure you'll love watching it just as much as we love working on it.

Let us know what you think of this new retelling of this classic tale!

Hi folks,

Heres a thread for all questions / comments related to the project to sub Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu otherwise known as the New Legend of Kaguya Island.

Myself as typesetter / encoder and Aniko as translator are the project leads.

If you got any questions please feel free to ask them here.

We're progressing nicely but we can't give you an ETA on when the full musical will be finished - its done when its done.  Both myself and Aniko are University students so of course schoolwork has to come first.

So far we've finished the commercial and the service numbers. All feedback is appreciated. I hope that they give an idea of the standards to expect when we finish the main musical.

Some FAQ's

1) Do you need raws ?
No thanks, I've got all the myu DVD's which have been released so far at home and have nice vobs to encode from =). The Fumina box is pretty by the way.

2) Will you sub everything.
We will sub everything which means the musical itself, the DVD making of, clips from the VHS omake and the service numbers and commercial which are already released.

3) Do you know when the final musical will be released
Nope sorry, its done when its done, schoolwork has to come first but rest assured it will be as good as we can make it.

4) What is Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu
SKSD is a remake of the 1999 Musical Kaguya Shima Densetsu and it alters / changes the story around adding some new elements and songs.

5) Will you sub this musicals Kaiteban ?
The likelihood is not because from all reports its very very similiar to SKSD so it would be a little boring to work on something again which you've been working on for so long. HOWEVER its pretty likely that we will sub the SKSDK Making of as that will have Marina Kuroki's graduation featured in it XD;.

6) What is a preorder VHS and what is an Omake ?
Since the 1998 musical Shin Densetsu Kourin there has been an option for theatre visitors to order preorder versions of the Musical at the Theatre. The bonus of preordering is that they received the VHS 2 months before the commercial release of the musical and also there is an omake at the end of the tape or extra feature. This is not found on normal commercial tapes. The omake contains behind the scenes footage from the musical, adlibs and clips from the senshuuraku (final) performance of the musical.

With the advent of musicals being made available on DVD, they contained a “Making Of” documntary. The footage is similiar to the Omake but there are differences between them.

7) Explanation of the clips in the VHS Omake Excerpts
The first clip is the VHS Omake Adlibs which are jokes which are put in to the senshuuraku(final) performance of the Musical and make fun of popular Japanese culture and news events. The VHS Omake adlibs are different to the ones on the DVD Making of.

The second clip is taken from the Senshuuraku service numbers where Loof Merrow sings "The Female Pirate's Strategy" again but she has some unexpected help.

Shirota Yuu (the Actor playing Tuxedo Kamen) graduated from the myu during Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu and the 3rd clip is taken from his final performance of Prince of the Earth and what happens afterwards. Prince of the Earth is one of Tuxedo Kamen's image songs. This song is included in the DVD making of and hence we've only included what happened afterwards.

The final clip is what happened after the senshuuraku performance of Ginga No Sanctuary. Ginga No Sanctuary is the song which is sung at the end of Senshuuraku performances, the full performance of Ginga No Sanctuary will be in the DVD making of. We only included what happened after as its not present in the DVD making of.

8) Current Project Status
Main Musical - Part 1 Released Part 2 Released
DVD Making of - Released
VHS omake clips - Released
Service Numbers - Released
Commercial - Released
DVD ISO Image - Released

I'll add more FAQ's as and when they arise.

Regards
