General Forum / Re: In honor of our dearst friend, CP
« on: August 09, 2016, 07:12:55 pm »
Yes, but what would be appropriate subject matter for such a project? :o

Something like "For our dearly departed, but not forgotten, friend, CP" or "Homage to an irreplacable friend";)

General Forum / In honor of our dearst friend, CP
« on: August 09, 2016, 05:52:30 pm »
So I've been thinking for awhile that since the one year anniversary of the unexpected, tragic passing of our dearst friend, CP, is coming up next month, that we should do something special to honor his memory. Maybe like a special release or something. I, for one, would be very honored to be a part of something for this. Believe me, I would be more than happy and willing to do whatever is in my fansubbing power/abilities to make this happen. Anyway, I'm interested in hearing feedback on this. What do the rest of you guys and gals think about this proposition? Thanks in advance.  :)

Live-eviL Recruitment Center / Re: NOW RECRUITING: Translator(s)
« on: September 30, 2014, 09:47:57 pm »
We definitely could use another translator/translation checker or two to help us out on our ongoing projects. If you like or don't mind on working on older, classic anime and think you have what it takes to be a translator/translation checker, feel free to head over to our IRC channel, #live-evil@irc.rizon.net or post a reply here. Talk to either Mamo-chan, Suzaku, or any other ops (the people with the "@" mark by their names) in the channel about this. Oh yeah, you don't have to have any fansubbing experience, as long as you're fluent enough in both Japanese and English. However, having fansubbing experience is always a plus. Of course, please don't apply if you're still currently studying Japanese in school, took Japanese courses in school in the past and have not used it in a long time and/or "lost your skills" or have just been watching anime for most of your life. In all honesty, translating and doing translation checks at a competent (acceptable) level takes much more than the aforementioned things. Anyway, feel free to apply if you think you have what it takes. Thanks.

tl;dr: message Tofusensei in #live-evil on irc.rizon.net to learn more.

Er... disregard this because Tofusensei is no longer with us. Message either Mamo-chan, Suzaku, or anyone else with the "@" mark by their names.

But as Tofusensei mentioned, we're a bit lacking in the QC department right now, so we could always use more help. So, if you think you have what it takes to be a QCer or are an experience one, please feel free to apply. We're a group of long time subbers(for the most part) and are pretty interesting people, so I'm sure you'll enjoy working with us.  ;)

That's always a good thing. But it also means more of the POS boy, too.  :o

General Forum / Happy New Year(2014)!
« on: December 31, 2013, 01:27:48 pm »
So, 2014 is nearly upon us. If you ask me, 2013 went by way too fast. I guess it's because I'm getting kinda old.  :o Anyway, I hope everyone has a good time during New Year's Day. I know I will. What do you wish to accomplish in 2014? For me, I generally don't make "New Year's resolutions", since I'm a "day to day/one thing at a time" kind of person. That being said, in 2014, I hope to become a better guesslator(trunzlator) ;) , learn (more) new things, and hopefully meet new people and do some new things. Yeah, I know this sounds so generic, but that's just how I am.  ;D

Submarine Super 99 sounds really interesting/good. I'll consider translating this one if we can get a dedicated group together for this. Also, Dai Yamato Zero-go sounds pretty good, too. My first choice would be Submarine Super 99, though.

General Forum / Re: nOObs to this forums introduce yourself HERE
« on: November 24, 2013, 01:46:43 am »
Hello, my name is Johnny, I'm french fan of animes (shounen & shoujo, like Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball, UFO Robot Grendizer or Sailor Moon). I am also the translator of The Three Musketeers for L-E and I hope you will enjoy it!

I know this is late and all, but welcome to the group, Johnny. I have already met you on IRC, but I thought I would post something on the forums anyway.

Oh yea, I was supposed to introduce myself here... hmm... here goes. I'm Eternal_Blizzard, and I am a burned out fansubbing machine. I mostly time and encode here in L-E, though I am also an editor, typesetter, and a quality checker. I have contributed in a few of L-E's projects, and I'm looking forward to not being retired for many years to come.

LOL, burned out fansubbing machine? I thought you haven't subbed for that long yet? Do I sense a quick burnout from using your turbo boosters too much?  :P

Anyway, welcome to the group. We hope you help us out for years to come. Like I told you on IRC, retiring from fansubbing is a lot harder than it seems.  ;)

General Forum / Re: The Game of Shiritori
« on: November 24, 2013, 01:40:51 am »
I posted that over 5 years ago.... *whaps tenken with salmon*

Yeah, I know, but you said back then that the thread should be resurrected. Since no one else bothered to take action, I did.  ;)

Wow...

I haven't seen the  "1) Only nouns can be used." rule at other places I've played this game. That's in the normal game?

And with 9 pages of posts, the "can not be repeated" rule becomes kinda hard to manage  :P

As far as I know, the "only nouns can be used" rule is one of the basic rules for the normal game. I think the other shiritori games you have seen elsewhere were bending the rules in one way or another.  ;)

Nah, just 9 pages of posts is nothing. You just have to use your imagination and be creative.  ;D
