There are 3 versions of AstroBoy. Astro 1963 box set 1 has been released by Right Stuf International on DVD at $130 SRP (52 episodes, B&W).
Astro 1980 (color) has been released by "MANGA" at $40 SRP (51 episodes; episodes 1 &2 of the Japanese broadcast were combined into episode 1 of the US broadcast; the other 50 episodes are sub and dub.)
Astro 2003 has been released dub only by Columbia, 50 episodes for $50 SRP. Actual market price might be 60% of SRP, so $30 for a complete set is about right unless you want the restored 1963 version.

Astroboy never came out in LDs?

It probably did at one time, but the last I heard of LDs was back in 5th grade when my teacher showed us Michael Jackson's Thriller. XD

DVDs now are quite cheap. ^_^ The old cheap ones goes for $7.99 and most of the new releases are only $19.99. Hell, Papa John's gave out free DVD movies at one time. That's how I got Weekend with Bernie 2. ;D

Astroboy was probably originally $60 when it came out, but it's been a while since its release. :P
