Does anyone know why episode 8 and 9 both do not have any seeders? I want to see them really badly!   :'(  I currently have all of the books published and out in stores ^_^  Sad sad ending ...  But if you possibly can, please please please get some seeders?  ;)

ehhhh...
Even though scarywater won't list the seeders they are there!
I list over 1200 seeders in DN09.
And this thread is NOT the place to ask these things, they should be handled in the Leeching forum.

In response to Draconis:
I have no problem watching the show like normal, and then analyze after. I concentrate when watching to get every aspect, pick up moods and shiftings etc. then I usually only think it through while writing a reply here....

I thought the same thing, would be great to see that blond ass just fall over and die though :P

No seriously, it actually proves that L's actions have faults as well. up until now it's always Light that barley saves the day, but I hope we will see some more of L's weak spots. :D

I watched Audition a while back, anyone else seen that. Found it quite nice, especially the "pace". How everything just calmly progresses towards disaster  :D

I think that the people who are voting for the last option is kinda missing the point.
The whole reason of the debate is to put the scenario of DN to a test. testing our own perception of justice.

I find that killing is not justified in any way. But I do question what the true difference between Light's "justice" and other justices. Like Stalin was a bad man, still 25% of people over 50 in Russia will say that he was a good leader. Sadam Husain's regime killed thousands, but plenty of people are still convinced that he was right when comitting this crime.

Justice is perception, justice is perception of justice. Legal systems are suposed to be representative of the people, so that the perception of justice within the system is in line with that of the general public. But this is always in clash with someone or something.

Anyway, as far as the anime goes I'll be cheering for Light, "Let me entertain you!"  ;)

I discuss quite a lot with my friends and we drag conversations way over our heads, but happily they are realy good friends and we naturally and gradually change subjects. Me and my two best friends met last friday and talked for 6 hours without the conversation getting stale, dry or unnatural. I treasure this so highly. If you do find someone that you can talk naturally to about anything, do hold on to them.
Obtaining "the art of conversation" is quite hard actually, because you have to leave most of your ego at the door and meet people with the feeling that they have something to give you, and not the other way around. And then to be able to do this and still don't loose your self in it all.

About your thinking, brains never stop. If they do you are "dead" or "braindead". The fact that you are aware of your thoughts is the main factor. It develops you, but not only your good sides, through contemplation you will find plenty of things you would rather leave alone. But if you have the strength to deal with them then you truly will grow.
A main catalyst for psykosis is contemplation though, so isolation and solitude can\will enhance the "problems" you are experiencing.

Hmmm, perhaps this was a bit off what you were initally discussing.....

I never thought Light's actions could be justified. Not even the initial killing of criminals. I am opposed to the death penalty because life is too precious for a single human, or even a collaboration of humans to decide over it. However, I don't find Light's action extraordinary. The US bombing of Bagdhad, Chinas persecution of Falun-gong, Israles launching into Palistine, and Norways sale of cluster-missiles. Actions carried out in the name of good\God that kill and mutilate are carried out all around the world each day.
There is one thing though, one thing that separates Light from all the worlds "justifiers". And that is the fact that he is alone.
Someone mentioned Adolf Hitler as an example of evil carried out in the name of good. Now that image is a bit crooked. The fact that germany managed to unify itself, build an industry that was one of europes finest, create jobs for all, food for all, bring hope to people that felt only remorse and failure. Now that is great work, and this was Hitlers doing in the 8 years before the war. Now this may sound like Nazi sympathy, but far from it. What I am trying to say is that alongside Hitler was a group, no a clan of people. All genius, bright men who had waited for an opertunety  to use their skills. Wich they did not get in the broken-down germany that they grew up in. They where all guilty of the crimes committed. Rommel and Mengele, split decision killing of thousands. Just as governments that deal death penalty it is not a single mans doing. This is where Light differs from the "butcherers".
This is what makes him "God"...

community alas, is forever blind."

I think he places judgement on them. He's often said he only killed someone ebcause they were let free, despite clear evidence against them. With his detectivve skills, I think it would be rather easy for Light to figure out if someone was innocent or not judging his choice on given evidence.

think the most compelling part for me is seeing how far he's willing to go to be able to keep killing criminals. If you think, in the long run, he might even have to kill his father, as he's also on the investigation team. Would he be willing to go that far? And if he was, I think it'd really prove that he's not actually doing this for himself, but for the world, and is really a good guy, ina a kinda evil way. He's ruthlessly good to an extent.

Also, there are SO many times I've wanted to spoil, but I resisted.  It's quite hard when someone's come up with an idea you KNOW is wrong or something.

You make some good ponts here.

What I find intresting is that Light takes the role that the law usually have, and the things most of you call barbaric are things the law usually do. The only diffrence is that one person instead of multiple instances condemn the criminals. The reactions of most of you is quite positive since it shows that democracy is going to be the main form of rule for a little while more  :P

I bow thy greatness and humbly admit my petty mind is uncapable to accomplish the great feats that you continue to amaze us all with, day after day.

Anyway it's the right one! Too bad no one ever subbed it.... :(

Ok, so i watched a few fansubbed episodes of a great anime a few years ago. Allthough the anime in itself was way older.

the plot was that a young man, a great chef, but an amazing slacker when it comes to work. And this young woman working at a newspaper go out and do all sorts of crazy stuff. And it's all composed around food. With the great morale being that you should use fresh vegetables etc. when cooking. They also get the mission of composing "the greatest meal" or something like that.

This is all I remember, anyone who can help me with a name and perhaps somewhere that has subbed this?
I know it wasn't licensed back then, and I seriously doubt someone has licensed it now, I think it was 180 episodes of 12-15 year old anime.

Anyway if you have some clues, shout!

Good question!

So good that i actually don't know the answer.

I know my first experience with anime was probably pokemon on TV or something, but that don't count.
I don't know how, but I found myself in a anime dedicated hub on DC++ three years ago. There I downloaded Tonari no Totoro. And this was my first real anime experience. I wathced it 8 times over the next week and I was completely taken away.

It's funny how I actually can't remember what got me to download this movie... If I find out I'll let you all know  :D

PS: Tsubasa! You just want us to tear our souls open while you just sit there and watch?! Let's hear it!

Thanks for the concern Tsubasa! And as I said in a different thread i really wish i could fix that, but alas. I started my CAD training today and spend most of the day crunching numbers onto a black screen :P

*longs back to the innocense of youth, when one could spend 8 hours a day perfecting ones Counter-strike skills. Or watching every documentary that Discovery could throw my way in a three years period :D*
*Does the responsible thing and patches up Neverwinther Nights 2 and takes a sick leave from school tomorow*
*grin*
