OK, so I'm bored.  Which leads me to do random stuff like this. :D In this thread, we will be playing a Japanese word game called "Shiritori".  In this game, the players will say a new word that starts with the previous words last "kana" (i.e. - the word "sakura". The "ra" part is the final kana.).  The rules are quite simple.  They go like this:

1) Only nouns can be used.

2) Words may not be repeated.

3) A person who uses a word that ends with the kana "N" automatically loses, since there are no words that begin with that kana.

A more detailed explanation of the game can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiritori .  Unfortunately, if you don't know Japanese very well or not at all, this game most likely will not work out for you. ;) Make sure to either make the last kana bold, change the color, add quotation marks or etc, so people don't get confused and/or things don't get mixed up.  Well, since I started this thread, I'll go first.....

How about Takumi skids, smacks into a tree in a fiery ball of death?

It would actually be pretty funny to see a parody recreation, via anime style, of this scene, IMHO.  [:perchut2]

Heh, good times.  I bet the topics related to this on the front page made some people think twice.  :D

Note that this group semiclosed, but they still seem to (very slowly) continue to release the DP-TV series, now at ep#08. They still just encode the RAWs and add the old VHS fansubs as .srt subs.

But if they're just adding the OLD scripts to the raws and releasing them, what fun is that? Yeah I know it's better than nothing for some people, but that's not really fansubbing (IMHO), since they aren't checking the translations and fixing any problems.  ;)

Live-eviL Recruitment Center / Re: Come QC for Live-Evil!
« on: March 24, 2008, 07:04:35 am »
Hi,
I am interested in QCing for Live-Evil.  I like all Asian media very much.  I am a native english speaker, a college graduate, and have firm grasp of spelling and grammar.  I would like to give QCing a shot, it sounds fun and interesting.  I currently have a lot of free time and would like something to do.  I am willing to QC for whatever group or series may need someone.
I have read the description, code of conduct and fansub basics.

So, if you think I would be suitable please let me know!
Thanks,
ColleenF-H

I think it would be a lot quicker to find a response to your inquiry if you went into the IRC channel and talked with either Mamo-chan, bastard-sama or Professor_Goomba.  If you know how to use IRC, just go to the "#live-evil" channel on the enterthegame server.  ;D

@Tsubasa: Hmm.....I remember Mamo-chan (I think) mention on IRC that this series could use help.  I would be more than glad to do TL checks on the rest of the eps....or maybe even do some TL-ing.  Well, that is, if you can convince me to TL some eps and what not.  ;)

All I'm gonna say is, five more years! :D

Take that however you will. ;p

Heh, probably not that long.  :D Anyways, if you need any help at all with TL checks for this, I can offer my assistance. All I need is to be pointed in the direction of the script(s).  ;)

We are actually subtitling this show and in need of someone to do translation checking for it. I think I see where this is heading ;)

-Tofu

I remember you asking me if I was still interested in TL checking DP on IRC a little while back.  I know you've been busy as of late, so no rush really.  However, I can start TL checking scripts whenever. Just thought I would post this here, even though I'm sure I'll see you in the IRC channel sometime.  ;)

Hmm....another enlightening read, Tofu.  I think reading your stuff is going to become a habit.  ;D

I can take a look at your other translated scripts and do TLCs on them.  If they're anything like episode 10's script, it should be a simple task for me.  ;D

Hmm.....yes, well, we can talk about that and more after we have a chat in the IRC channel.   ;D

I logged on to the channel when you were sleeping, apparently.  You're three hours a head of me.  Anyways, I guess I can get a hold of you on there one of these days.

I rent anime through Netflix.  They have enough anime there to keep me content.

I live in California but was born in Japan.  However, I've lived in the U.S. for most of my life.  ;D
