Well the anime is only going to be like what??? 37 eps long....that means by the time the third movie comes out the first two will hava already been subbed if not just the first one. Hey I think L&E would do a great job of it and....if you guy say "We will do it but not till the end of the world, world peace or at least Bush is out of office will we even think about it"" then I would be cool with that. ;D
Then again if world peace breaks out it would be because Bush isn't in office any more and the world was about to end.....LOL ;D ;D

Ah but behold the power of free speach....I live in the states(even tho the state I live in is the portal to Hadies.......lol) And if not free speach then freedom of the press. There have been countless cases in the U.S. on freedom of speach and press on the net. I am having a brain freez at the moment and can't think of the case but there was one where a woman who argued that since she was posting on a forum it was a form of the press....come to think of it.....I never did find out the ruling on that case...I will have to check into it and let you know. hee hee

Ya I'm gonna have to beg for this movie to be subed because Death note has become Crack and being a slightly retarded crack induced american with lack of the speaking another langauge I will sell my soul to every one here to see the death note movie. Hell I'd even dress up like school girl to have this movie sub. But All in good time I'm still happy with the anime bit.

That's a sweet request and we're happy you read the guidelines but you haven't really searched this board have you? There are two other threads regarding the DN movie. We don't need three threads for the same purpose. As more leechies come in, they'll get confused as to which thread to post in. So I think this thread should be merged into the other threads.
There's been almost more excitement about the movie than the anime itself lol.

Nah, Tsubie. The movie played in a few places in Asia with English and Chinese subs. Not fansubs or bootlegs- the real thing. I know a few Singaporians who got to see the movie in the theaters as well.
From what I've heard, the official R2 DVD will come with English subs. Just thought I'd throw that into the mix.

Do you guys plan on subbing the Death Note Movie? I've watched it and it seems pretty cool. Although I don't understand all that much, but if you watch the anime, you will understand it. The movie is live action so its pretty cool.

The Japanese Region 2 will have English subs = we will not sub it to respect the original creators.
If you want it, buy the R2.

It's not in future projects because L-E will not do this project since the R2 will (/is supposed to) have English subs. Hence, the "past projects" subforum and Gum's many posts stating as much. ;)

Something's off there. Shouldn't Past Projects be for completed/dropped projects and future projects be where people can request possible projects and staff talk about projects they want to do?
I think this thread needs to be in a Topic named "General Anime" or something since we need some place that people can discuss anime not being subbed by us.

Yeah that seemed awkward to me too. I actually found it kind of funny. :P Well, ask Gum. He moved it here. What he could have done is like the Tsubasa + xxxHolic movie possibility thread, locked it and kept it in the current and future board.

Hmmm, I have just been told that the official R2s are not supposed to be having English subtitles but the Hong Kong DVDs do. So can someone link us to a valid source of info which either supports or disproves this? :-\

the only reason i could think of is the dani california song by RHCP...or that because they think desuno should be an international film, they find that they should put english subs for the non-japanese fans?
it is possible i guess. Batoru Rowaiaru II: Chinkonka had english subs, and funny enough Tatsuya who plays Yagami Light was the terroist Shuya in that movie XD

It might seem strange though a LOT of movies especially big ones have English subs on the Region 2's

Yes the movie does spoil the Anime :c (it's just a shortened down version of what the anime is telling). Movie 1 does the first half and Movie 2 covers the last section of the manga.

its a definite spoiler lol. The criminal who saw Ryuk and got run over, ray penbar being killed, its all the same
if you've watched the movie, you know what to expect in te anime which is true. However it is alright to watch the movie and anime, because the movie has some changes in the plot to make it more realistic

for those who dont know this the DN movies are a very (almost exactly the same) similar story to the anime/manga. So basically its the entire anime in like 4 hours.
