What music is it that you're really enjoying right now. Let us know and if it's an online radio thing than point the link our way.
One site I always like is www.pedrobroadcast.com
-
Hmm.... if we are speaking genre, then I would have to say Classic Rock... AHH!! But I love the heavy stuff too! You know... like.. Megadeath... Pantera... oo and the Death stuff like Cannibal Corpse and Slayer... oh and Hardcore... such as Zao or Norma Jean.... So many bands I like.... Thats why I use Kazaa. (Im a leeching whore)
Suggested Band of The Month:
Name: Amorphis
Genre: Metal/Death Metal (Depends on which song :P)
Suggested Songs: Divinity, Alone, Black Winter Day
Where to get?: Online Store, or Kazaa
My official title is "Leeching Whore" but I'm also known as "Narcissistic" and of course "Evil Bastard"... Don't you love me too?
-
um nothing special i listen to right now, streaming wise but I do recommend www.digitallyimported.com for techno/trance people. they have some decent streams in case you dont have any mp3s.
bands: morcheeba, chicane, faithless, radiohead, pink floyd.. uh the list is too long...
type: trance, ambient/chill out, classical, rock, pop, reggae, almost everything except RAP. can't stand RAP.
-
Yes I cant stand rap.... especially when its comming from a 17 yearold white boy, driving a 98 Civic with Racing stickers on the windows... thinking he is "ghetto". If you own a civic and play rap, while at the same time your white and in Highschool... I probubly mean you.. ;D
-
Hehe, I wonder if 'The Streets' have been marked for export yet. If so then may God, or some other such being have mercy on your soul.
The parodies are at least good though!
-
I;'ve been into a lot of Chinese Pop-Music. You will either dance around to it or laugh about...
S.H.E.
F4
JaY Chou
WAng Lee-hom (he does the opening song for Peach girl ;D)
Besides my brain liquifying C-pop. Jimi Hendrix, Emerson Lake&Palmer, Zeppelin. good old rocky stuff.
-
I love Digitally Imported but since it has been posted here already I also listen to http://www.woxy.com/
The nice thing about them is they list all the songs they played and when during the last week in there playlist section. Not the best quality of stream either at just 64k, but they play almost like an old college radio station. Lots of Indie music, and tracks popular band's CDs you haven't heard.
Good way to experience totally new music without paying for it at least.
-
i listen to alot of things right now. i'm really into DAI at the moment and (god forgive me) brittish pop. i have grown so much from my little creole girl living in a white suburban california neighbourhood milli and vanilli mc hammer weird al yankovic listening self! (yeah i said it. i love tears for fears and chicago as well!) i grew up with parents who loved all kinds of music so i have an eclectic taste. i really dont like the popular music kids listen to today and can just be just as happy listening to earth wind and fire as i would listening to the works of mozart or camille saint-saens.
-
If you are wanting to pull out the "How could I ever find this as entertaining as I do" I actually like 'Mindless Self Indulgence'. They are exactly as their name implies M.S.I.
They really could end up going somewhere.
Also love the pogues for no reason other they sound exactly how I envision a pub playing band to sound.... Drunk.
-
Hmm, Earth Wind and Fire aren't so bad. In fact they've been known to be rather good.
-
Jamiroquai is pretty good if you enjoy funk at all. As for Earth Wind Fire I listened to something around back with there time line. Walter Murphy's "A Fifth of Beethoven". Which is still being played in movies because I've yet to hear a remix of the Fifth Symphony that really was as creative and interesting.
I set them both in together since they are both sorta funk.
-
i, actually, am a huge jquai fan. been one for quite sometime since they invoke that funky feeling. but why oh why is their genre called "Acid jazz"?
-
Because you have to be on Acid to understand it. Actually it makes sense in a way, the same way that all these decked out cars from the fast and the furious have spawned people to do the same to their mustangs and such. People see all the work going into techno and to grab onto something that no one has tried before why not jazz up jazz? Then again I'm a blues person more than jazz, unless we are talking the 40s Jazz.
I even enjoy swing music once in a while. God I have to clean out the LP collection now.
-

What are a few of your fav. songs from them?
I like "Little L"
-
mr moon always makes me dance...i sometimes have a problem with j kay as his diction isnt that great. i.e light years = light chairs gets on my nerves. but i cant say that any particular song stands..it all depends on my mood.
-
Music is all about mood, which is how I can shift through techno from opera and such. I used to have glass records and I loved them. They had a different sound than regular LPs.
I'm not going to be a snob and say they ahve a better sound than CDs or anything. They just have a different one. And much like how people complain that Lucas has changed Starwars, I guess I hold on to what I remember having when I was younger, such as LPs and Open Reel player, yet some how I'm not at all attached to the 8-tracks? Then again they always seemed to flip during a song.
Maybe all that just camed to mind because I'm in a beatles mood today?
"She loves you, and you know that can't be bad"
-
well i tend to be a fan of originals. as much as i love change there is something to be aid of the classics. oooh..the beatles....
-
I enjoy listening to a remake sometimes because they are trying to revamp it for a new generation etc. Like the Elvis song that was revamped a few years ago. Take something that wasn't very popular out of his catalog for newer people and make it new. It was kind of risky for Elvis' time to say " A little less talking and a little more action please" and now it fits in to most songs of the day, if being a little less graphic in the process.
But usually I love the first the best, and somethings need to be orginial because you are reminded of something because of the song rather than just loving the song for its own sake.
Back to the shallow end.. Who likes Lord's of Acid? "I wanna see your pussy, show it to me?"
-
umm...no i will not show it to you
-
well it looks like a cat for a Avitar anyways. But I'm already off that song. (hours have passed, and I was not tempted to put it on repeat for the day. go fig)
No I'm listening to POE. She is one of my fav. Singers, partly for her lyrics but mostly for her voice. Between here and Beth Orton, they are the new voices to me. None of that bumble gum stuff, actually interesting voices.
Then again this is a tie in to earlier stuff because POE is singing "My lips are sealed" a cover of the Go-Go's song from the 80s. Very cool though.
-
i dont think i have ever listened to POE..why is she called that? lover or the poet/writer?
-
POE is her name I think? go to Amazon.com and you can look for POE in popular music and listen to the start of some of her songs Haunted is a good album to start with.
Now after my last post I'm listening to Beth Orton's cover of "Wild West" which was Cat Steven's song.
Anyone hear new stuff about him being deported from the U.S.?
Proof we have a raving lunitic in charge.
-
a new favourite of mine are the delgados..the op song for gunslinger girl is one of their songs from their latest album HATE
-
Primus today because I like some bass with my mornings.
-
http://www.intosomethin.com/radio.htm seems to be back online which is nice.
-
The bad thing about bumming a connection off the neighbor this weekend is that I barely have enough bandwidth to grab torrents and stream music without skips.
Unlike when I use the neighbor's connection and my own.
-
heh today was singing at the top of my lungs with one of my best buds to the oldies station
-
What counts as oldies now? because I heard some station talking about all the oldes you love from the 70s and 80s..
Scared me.
If anyone needs me I'll be curled up in a fetal position
-
lol i have heard that as well which doesnt make sense..our oldies station plays music from the 50s and 60s and i think some 40s tunes as well. "it was an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini..."
-
thats a cool song. I got a classic for you.
"Ohh lord it is so hard to be humble, when you are perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror, because I get better lookin each day. To know me is to love me. I must be one hell of a man. Ohh lord it is so hard to be humble, but I'm doin the best that I can."
-
that one i dont know
-
Yeah well you might be happier for not knowing it.
But how about Harvey Danger's "flag pole sitter"
Ohh I'm not sick but I'm not well. I'm so hot, because I'm in Hell.
Sent me to the hospital for nerves then you had them commit me? You told them I was crazy, so they cut off my legs and now I'm an amputee Goddamn you.
-
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is great!
-
well talk about making the new from the old with a remix. I'm listing to the war of the world dance remix. Now if you never heard the war of the world's musical by Jeff Wayne you are missing out. It is kind of a classic, but this new remix is pretty dope.
It isn't a story though like the orginal so you gotta really listen to the first to understand and enjoy the remix. But isn't that how it usually goes?
-
i guess i am missing out :/
-
no worries, it was all before your time. backin the 70s
-
hehe i listen to stuff that was "before" my time! my parents were teens in the 70s so i grew up with that kind of music!
-
I figured you would post fast to that comment though
-
lol now this isnt a coincidence thayt we post at the same time...
-
Guess who just got Falco's greatest hits? Someone else I just bummed the CD because I never knew he had another song besides Amadas. Pretty wierd stuff.
-
ha..old mariah carey tunes bring me back!
-
Of course how about DVDA they sang "Chewbacca, what a wookie"
-
best advice ever "let the wookie win" maybe that has something to do with your song and this thread
-
Being the cultural bridge I am, I am once again bringing to wonderful worlds together. I present you: http://www.ocremix.org/ The site is full of VIDEOGAME MUSIC remixes. ~1250 songs. it's hot, i tell you, hot!
=] go get em!
-
I've been listening to Gorillaz G sides. all the stuff not on there only album... not bad stuff, just remixes I guess but not bad.
19-2000 (Soulchild Remix) is a great song.
-
that reminds me of that eiffel 5 group..they had that one song so i got my little brother the single only to find like 5 mixes of the song that were terrible...how that relates i have no clue
-
It relates because you have 5 stars and thus are non foulable?
I got another band for you.
Fake Moss
I was listening to their Highway song.
I Can't get it here, which is more proof why I need access to all of Europe's music. I have taste, they should give me access their supply of music in exchange for someone happy to buy music from people not suing their fans currently.
-
i like robbie williams..even though that butt ripping video disturbs me greatly
-
yeah agreed that is disturbing. umm. I like Daft punk a lot.
-
Today's song. "Understanding in a car crash" by Thursday.
It is all about mood today.
-
daft punk is ok too. so is lionel richie
-
Apparently the next Robbie Williams album will be released on an mmc card for use in mobile phones.
-
and I still won't buy the cell phone.. Must be a sign. A cell phone should make calls from more areas.. I feel like they keep shoveling crap onto the phones to distract you from the fact there are still lots of places where you get dropped signal.
tisk tisk
-
[smiley=rofl.gif].
-
aaw mikala does another cute smiley. [smiley=atsuko.gif]
but i agree with killjoy.
-
I'm right? it must be the first sign of the end. You are all DOOMED you filthy humans! DOOMED DOOMED DOOMED doomed..
ooh and on a musical note. how about Ashley Simpson's Lipsync scandle? Thoughts? Impressions to share?
-
i didnt see it but she cant sing worth crap so i guess they tried to cover it up. guess they didnt learn from milli and vanilli
-
i didnt see it but she cant sing worth crap so i guess they tried to cover it up. guess they didnt learn from milli and vanilli
Yes, but at least they could dance better than she did?
