Don't insult my intelligence. A lot of novels do that to great degree (which, unfortunately, is why I hated the Great Gatsby the first time I read it, though it really stuck with me and I don't hate it anymore), it's just that there's very little behind the facts. I think the idea of the clow cards was unique, but I honestly like strong characterization before action (a good fight scene is fun too, though). There needs to be anime that doesn't try to prove anything, and doesn't try to make you think too hard or say something about the human condition. And I like that sometimes. But honestly, I'd rather go play a video game.
...er... sorry. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, I swear. I just never found CLAMP's artwork or characters to be the type that would leave me in a trance for days trying to think over something or guess what happens next. But also I'm the type of person who figures out the major plot-twist of the movie within the first ten minutes of 'meeting' a character.
