Here some info to play SSM 6 ( using h264 codec ) from Jedi-Master-Yoda
Quote
1) Install ffdshow – SET FFDSHOW TO DECODE ONLY AND ONLY x264 and h264
2) install x264 codec version X264VFW_rev289_mmx.exe
3) install mkv splitter or set FFDSHOW to Decode your audio as well. ( this will only takeover audio of any x264 or h264 file, your xvid and divx video’s will be decoded normally the way they have been decoding before ffdshow installation)
If you follow those instruction you will be able to playback SSM 06 with flying ease, sofar I can play file on WMP, MPC, ZoomPlayer, VLC player. =)

rizon & chatspike are irc network ( irc.rizon.net & irc.chatspike.net ).
you need an irc client to use irc ( www.silverex.org or www.mirc.com )

I needed to install http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/ before being able to hear the audio. Smiley

I have more problems playing MKV's than I do playing mr yoda's encode :c.

MKV's are just dumb and should be struck from the face of this earth :/

I've tried the directions on the main page for playing SSM 6 and am still getting out of sync errors in WMP and Zoom Player, and VLC still crashes after about 15-20 seconds.

Audio seems fine, and the video will play in Zoom and WMP, but they get out of sync (the audio for the opening ends before the opening video does).

I'm open to suggestions on how to fix this, or if that doesn't work, a way to reencode this into a format that I know works.

Thanks.

Has anyone had any luck getting this episode to play on xbox media center? all of the other ones work fine so I guess the new codec might not be supported. Anyone know an easy way to watch this on an xbox?

Hey, thanks for subbing this great series.  Smiley

I got this episode to work after installing a bunch of stuff, hehe, so that good. It only plays in BS Player and Media Player Classic, its all messed up in VLC and others for some reason.

I too loved watching these on my Xbox, so this is a bit of a letdown though.

Just curious, why the change? I thought the only reason to use something like this with a bunch of filters and such was for multiple audio tracks, etc. Any other reason?

As has been explained elsewhere h264 delivers better quality encodes at the same encode size and offers the possibility of smaller file sizes. Please read the thread in the Projects forum as it's been done to death there.
