General Forum / Re: How Many Gigs

I've probably got around 500-700GB lying around. I lost track of it, since most of it is comprised of DVDs.

I personally don't have problems with either Tsubasa or the fans in general. It's the elements of the fandom that are a combination of

a) whine if the episode is even one micro second late
b) Think everything else apart from Tsubasa sucks and Tsubasa is the BEST THING EVAH without actually having tried some other stuff eg a "just because" type reasoning
c) Have no appreciation of the fact that they're extremely fortunate/lucky that Tsubasa gets subbed like clockwork each week whilst some other things have gone for a year without a release.
d) Think that the projects that are being left lagging are in some way less deserving of being subbed than Tsubasa.

When I see Fans that are a combination of 2 or 3 of the above, thats what rubs me up the wrong way.

I have no problem whatsoever with Tsubasa fans who do none of the above.

Well fans shouldn't really have any of those problems listed, but they do. Provided they are aware of Live-Evil's situation, they shouldn't be thinking any of that. Why do they still act like idiots? Because people are idiots. I downloaded the first episode of Galaxy Express 999, since I didn't realise L-E did it until you mentioned it elsewhere on this board. I watched it, it was certainly interesting enough for me to want the next episode. I do like a lot of other anime, and I always think myself lucky to download any show regularly from a fansubbing group.

Rather than complain about Tsubasa not being released, people should have taken the time to try some other projects that are available.

While it's true that Tsubasa story-wise isn't the greatest anime by a long shot, it is animated by Bee Train. I only watched the show initially because of that fact, and because of Kajiura's music.

That said, as far as I'm concerned if fansubbers simply can't be bothered subbing one week then whatever. (Not saying that's what happened, since I don't know) They do it for free, and regardless the fact that you're a consumer doesn't give you the right to bitch and moan about something coming later than you want. It happens with stuff you pay for too, and you still shouldn't complain. It's not like people go out of their way to piss you off by not releasing things, so get over it.

Thanks to L-E & DB for continuing to sub Tsubasa. I started watching Blood+ too last year when I had a better internet connection, but these days my speed doesn't allow me to check out all of the releases.

Right, time for the old server to start uploading like no tomorrow. Go Go Interactii!

Wait, what about my question! Are you guys planning on doing this joint with Dattebayo, or will this be a Live-Evil only project?

CAM...raw... :o

See now I'd watch the rest of the series again too, but I have soooo much I haven't seen already. I could too have watched the raw, and understood a great deal more than most. My Japanese just isn't up to the level where I understand as much as I do with subs, so I wouldn't want to ruin my experience by trying.

Besides, I started with Live-Evil, and I'll finish with Live-Evil. That's how I try and work, unless groups actually officially stop subbing them.

Regardless of why the release is late, who's fault it is and all that shit, I'd again like to thank Live-Evil and Dattebayo on a consistantly good quality sub, and a very quick one might I add. I've got Blood+ episode 2, but I haven't got around to watching it. I only discovered it by being here, so good job to Live-Evil for making me get something primarily due to the sub group.

I know this is off-topic, but CCS? Is that actually good? Now, by good, I mean I don't generally like children's television. It's anime sure, but it's aimed at a very different person to me. What are the odds I'll like it if I randomly pick it up? (As in, not having seen it as a kid and going back in time is awesome)

I found the first episode quite good but a few things kinda puzzled me. First, whats up with the dreams about running through a castle Saya keeps having? Is it something from the OVA (haven't watched that obviously, I'll get it after I finish getting nausicaa)? Second, why in the world is Saya's friend so..... intimate? with Saya... Its a little unnnerving.

I'd assume the dream sequences will be explained as the series goes on. Unnerving? Well if it is in fact a relationship, I'm sure you can handle it. Otherwise a little psudo homosexuality isn't going to kill you either. Still, as that post up there said, girls can act that way just as friends, it wasn't that intimate. A girl laying on her friend's stomach and picking food from her cheek isn't that unheard of.

Well that makes sense, why sub a bad quality RAW? I'll keep an eye out for the release. Does Live-Evil plan on keeping the relationship with Dattebayo when subbing the movie, or will this be a solo project?

I didn't mention names, I said you shouldn't complain, generally. General comments are not supposed to be directed at anyone in particular. Live-Evil have stated they won't do that, so give it up.

Well, it's inevitable people are going to get a bit frustrated at having their routine broken up like this after being used to episodes of the show arriving in usually timely fashion, I know I am.  I appreciate the work that the subbers have put into this series, but does that mean I'm not allowed to be annoyed when, right at the finale of the series, the episode doesn't turn up until about a week late?

I'm not going to lose sleep over it or anything, but I can understand how others might be getting a little impatient at this point.  So show a little compassion, we're getting antsy about our fix here  :)

No, you can't really be annoyed. That's the point. Well sure you can be annoyed, but you can't walk around asking about it and complaining about it. If these people work for nothing, what do you expect? You should be happy you have actually had a routine in the first place. A lot of groups are all over the place you know. Complain all you want, but what happens? Nothing. The episode will come out the same time it would have regardless of any complaints, unless it's delayed further.

Do you think sub groups are unaware of the fact that people want to watch their stuff? Haha. You cannot whine about stickies, or any other announcements, it's up to the group. They are the ones working their arses off, and all they get is people complaining about their delays and the fact that they don't tell everyone what's going on. I'd rather they focus on subbing, and I will wait until it comes out. As soon as someone mentions the word 'unprofessional' or implies they are that way, you know to stop talking right then. If you want this stuff done 'better', join/make a subbing group. Or pay a current group. Otherwise sit back and watch for free like you already are, and stop complaining!

Yeah, I saw it for the 2nd time today, as I screened it in our club. The response was good, for those that have as well as for those that have not seen the OVA. I actually haven't seen it yet, but the episode itself was very visually appealing. From a cinema point of view the show really gets you interested, and I found it to be quite cool. I look forward to more and hope that Live-Evil continue to work on the project.

You also should be thankful that Live-Evil, or at least for Tsubasa, (haven't seen a lot of your work guys!) have been consistant with their releases. Oh no, one release is delayed. Are you paying for it? Are you in fact doing anything for it? No, that's the world of fansubbing. They don't have to continue to work, and could in theory quit when they want to. Just wait for the release, aside from not being able to do anything, you should be happy it's getting done in the first place.

Funny that it's a maths thing, I was never good at maths. Yeah, I'm not in Live-Evil, no idea what their plans are at any stage. I just mean that fansub groups put work into this, and all they get is people not asking, but almost demanding about the releases. Then I guess if you've got one person merely asking, you have a whole stack asking at once.

A request to all of you Tsubasa fans. Kindly please do not come to #live-evil enquiring as to the whereabouts of Tsubasa 26. It was not translated as usual by Tofusensei at the weekend and at the last count of knowing was undergoing translation whilst he was travelling the USA on business.

The last thing that we know is that he will be home sometime on Wednesday to complete the fansubbing process on Tsubasa 26 and encode it. Please DONT ask us when it's coming out as we can't do ANYTHING till tofu comes online and we'd rather not have high blood pressure in the IRC channel from a constant stream of people enquiring as to the whereabouts of this particular fansub release.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation

Good enough for me. I can wait. Always feel sorry for groups that get hammered with questions like 'when is x' going to be released. I figured someone would post on here with a reason, it's why I didn't ask. Keep up the good work, Live-Evil is quickly moving up the chain now that I've also seen the first episode of Blood+.
